  1. He had one base open, that was my issue. He's had issues walking guys. Then he hits the first batter and the bases are loaded. That was my nightmare. If the move came at the beginning of the inning I wouldn't have been as concerned. But Hader isn't immune to walking guys or giving up a hit here and there so there are really no guarantees in this game. Glad Williams got the job done.
  2. This is the first time this season I would question Counsell's use of Hader, I'd want him in right here for a 4 out save. Getting a win against deGrom would be a huge lift for the team. Williams makes me nervous.
  3. The boos annoy me too but honestly that's part of a fan's job and is as much a part of the game as anything. I do think fans are a little quick to boo these days because it seems like they start right with the first pick-off attempt, it used to be a pitcher would have to throw over 2 or 3 times in an at bat for the boos to start up.
  4. I'm actually a little surprised people are that upset about Yelich not making that catch, he catches it or does what actually happened on and throws the runner out at 2nd. Zero drama. I think it would have been worse if it had been Adames running away from the infield to flub the catch so it was right of Yelich to call him off with his momentum taking him towards the infield. I fully believe Yelich missed the catch because he was concerned about a collision.
  5. Robertson: wRC+ 66 "Garbage DFA!" Tellez: wRC+ 65 "Our new 1B for years to come!" Hey, this apple isn't an orange! Unacceptable!
  6. Don't we get an extra roster spot on double header days though? 27 instead of 26?
  7. Reason for optimism that they seem to have figured out how to play this team and be more competitive. Make some adjustments and hope to steal game 2.
  8. I'm not as doom and gloom as some on here right now. My biggest issue is this pick and roll. Imagine if in football a team kept running a 10 yard out to the same player and the team converted it 90 percent of the time...and the defense didn't make any adjustment to try and stop said play. It's literally the exact same thing every time down the court and the bucks aren't doing anything different. Force a switch, dribble to your spot, easy jumper from 12-15 feet. Lopez needs to play less or we need to switch less. Here's my viewpoint, I don't think the Suns are doing anything out of the ordinary for them as a team. This isn't Trae Young going off for 50 points, this is just how they play.
  9. It amazes me there were people that thought the Suns were only here because they got lucky facing teams with injury problems. This is a very good team just as I expected. With Giannis or without the Bucks were going to have a hard time making this series competitive.
  10. Sometimes I wonder how this team ever wins.
  11. He's already barely playing. He has 83 ABs this year; compared to 145 for Hiura and 246 for JBJ, Pina's offensive struggles are having almost zero impact on our bottom line. I know. That is why I brought up Joey Gallo to play 1B/CF for those 2 positions of weakness. I was just also thinking Catcher would be an easy way to upgrade offense with how putrid Pina has been. FWIW Ken Rosenthal has a blurb in his recent article that mentions backup catcher as a potential upgrade target for the Brewers at the trade deadline, so maybe you're on to something. From the article: The Brewers’ internal options at the corner-infield spots are more promising than they were a month ago, but still might not be good enough. At first base, Keston Hiura has batted .244 with an .848 OPS since returning from his second minor-league demotion on June 23, and Daniel Vogelbach could return from his strained left hamstring in mid-August. At third, Luis Urías is in a 1-for-19 slump, but prior to that had batted .300 with an .865 OPS in his previous 101 plate appearances. The seeming revivals of Hiura and Urías and potential return of Vogelbach, however, will not stop the Brewers from seeking upgrades at the deadline. Club officials also could pursue bullpen help and a backup catcher, recognizing the team is capable of making a deep run in the postseason if the front of the rotation and back of the bullpen stay healthy.
  12. This is where I'm at too. Even with Giannis the Suns felt like one of those teams that gives the Bucks trouble, I'd feel better with a healthy Giannis but I think I'd still expect the Suns to win a 7 game series. No regrets about this run though, making it this far has been worth everything. Yes I'd still love to see them win, don't want to sound like I have no hope at all.
  13. FWIW Arcia was 2 for 4 yesterday, singled & drove in a run and later scored in the 9th inning during a 4 run come back by the Braves to tie the game. Braves won in the 10th. Pretty good debut. I'm rooting for him to do well, I've always liked the kid.
  14. To me it's just a little too much potential disruption to team chemistry and the pitching staff to replace the backup catcher in the middle of the season. Narvaez is going to start the vast majority of games anyway, so there is very little to be gained even if things work out. The question is, how anemic of a bat can you allow to exist in the big league roster until you replace him? IMO at catcher you can absorb the deficiency on offense when his chemistry with the staff and his behind the plate defense are top notch and Pina's absolutely is. As the #2 catcher you can't do much better. Pina has hit well enough in the past I think we just hope for the best in that regard, there's still time for him to figure that out and improve.
  15. Somewhere out there is a Brewers fan that only started seriously following the Brewers this season and is convinced that Jace Peterson has just always been this good. I've never seen him hit like this ever, he looks like an all star. It's incredible.
  16. I had the exact same thought. That view is ridiculous, the way the buildings in downtown Pittsburgh look like they were arranged specifically for PNC Park.
  17. The Bucks are going to the Finals! Wooo! Honestly didn't think it would happen this year but come the playoffs this team proves it has no quit. The Suns are going to be tough though, I hope Giannis can play and be mostly himself.
  18. 15-9, that feels optimistic but I'm going with it.
  19. I wonder if a guy like Kendall Graveman would be a less expensive target, he's having a real nice season this year as the Mariners' closer but his prior years as a starter aren't great so all his value feels dependent on this year. He's a FA after this season so the M's shouldn't be adverse to a reasonable trade. He's also signed to a cheap contract so salary isn't a factor.
