    **joins in** Odd thing is, I think Jenks' throw in was right on the money to Hardy had Weeks not tipped it and he gets an error. Clark's throw was pretty bad, and he comes off scot-free. I would have scored the first error as E4. hard to say the throw was offline before it was tipped by Weeks. In any case, Weeks was the cut off man and apparently didn't realize that Jenkins was bypassing him.

    Only other real option was Helms. I think PH'ing Macgruder was a good call all things considered. We'll have more PH options when Branyan comes back.

    If we had a RF in the system who had a better shot of putting up a better than .700 OPS while playing acceptable defense I'd agree with you. Jenks is the best option at the moment.

    I'd like to see Jenks get into this game as a pinch-hitter though. Hopefully break the streak before his start tomorrow. Or at least give him a chance to see a few game pitches.

    Rotoworld snippet on Sandbox. "Brewers manager Ned Yost has Lyle Overbay batting third and Geoff Jenkins in the sixth spot tonight against the Phillies. Common sense prevails! Overbay has cooled off in a big way, but he still has a .411 OBP this season and that was mostly being wasted in the fifth spot in the order. Jenkins is hitting just .248/.335/.390. Maybe he'll get better in the second half like he did last year, but he shouldn't be batting any higher than fifth or sixth until he heats up." Classic

    Yep. I've always wondered what would happen if a guy that could throw 95+ would learn to throw something like that too.

    Given how he's looked there during the Washington series, I definiately do NOT share that sentiment.

    Anybody else think this may have been started in the 9th inning yesterday? I was very encouraged that they were still struggling though there were in a seemingly unwinnable game. Don't know what it is, but it seemed like there was an attitude switch from the begining of that game.

    I think it was a sign, but I think he showed bunt purely to bring the infield in more. He took a cut at the next pitch. Managers sometimes do that to make the defense think bunt and increase the chance of a hit.
