  1. The beat guys might as well be writing press releases. We all read their stuff anyway but then look elsewhere for insight or scoops. So it goes.
  2. I’ll be in the Molitor lot when it opens. Can’t hold my liquor like I used to, so I’ll have to make up for it in sausage. Looking forward to another Yelich cycle tomorrow.
  3. I’ll play. Win-Loss Record: 87-75 Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes Highest Playoff Level Achieved: NLCS All-Star Game Representative(s): Hader, Yelich, Grandal (Wow, we *could* be have a lot of guys make the all star team this year.) Offensive Player of the Year: Shaw. He doesn’t even make the all star team because of all the bigger names at 3B in the NL, but he outhits all those guys in the end. Starting Pitcher of the Year: Chacin. Weirdly he feels like almost a dark horse for this. But I think he will be the one guy to put up solid starts consistently. Relief Pitcher of the Year: Taylor Williams becomes an official electric dude. Most Surprising Player: Dubon. Ends the year as starting SS. Most Disappointing Player: Peralta. Can’t hack in the rotation (yet?), ends the year in AAA.
  4. Great points, all. Thinking back to last year and the OF glut, I think the team is very comfortable riding with more depth than it will look like they're gonna need. Because stuff happens. Guys get hurt. These things work themselves out sometimes, for sure.
  5. OF safe bets Yelich Cain Braun Gamel IF safe bets Shaw Aguilar Arcia Moustakas C safe bets Grandal Pina On the fence: Perez Spangenberg Thames Saladino Kratz Nottingham? Dubon? Perez seems like a safe bet to stick around for his positional flex. Good option at 2B against LHP. I'd probably pick Spangenberg to get the next roster spot after that, as he plays all over and has a LH bat. That's the 13th spot for Thames, I guess. I have a feeling his ticket out of town may be punched.
  6. Calling for a grassroots movement to name the park "Ding Dong City".
  7. Stearns loves them options, boy.
  8. It might help to have a reason or two handy to feel better if they lose. 1. It's fun as heck to even be competing down the stretch, let alone making the playoffs, let alone getting this far. 2. They're gonna be good next year, too.
  9. Very much hoping for a W today. A version of the last four games that's also an elimination game for MKE would be cuh-razy intense and fun, but I'd rather they just cream the Dodgers at this point.
  10. Dodgers' 1-8 are all RHH. Let Gio throw to the first guy and then bring in Woody? :D
  11. Heck of a game. My hat’s off to the Dodgers. Here’s hoping Yeli and Braun can get it going with Chacin on the mound for game three.
  12. This article sells Stearns and the Brewers way short, IMO.
  13. Got some error messages first, but eventually got standing-room tickets for game 7. $60 each.
  14. IIRC, it wasn’t too long ago they put up several double-digit run totals at home. I expect them to turn it up to eleven today, and I think MKE does the same.
  15. For what they’re worth, two things I’m trying to do: 1. Remind myself of the bigger picture. Sports is entertainment. Might as well be fictional, IMO. I rooted for Frodo to get the ring back to Mordor just like I’ll root for Hader to strike out Rizzo. It’ll affect my life about as much. Either way, the big things in my life are friends and family, health and wealth. 2. Keep my focus on my team and on the actual games. Not on the other team’s fans, especially. Trash talking is an endless downward spiral of negativity for everybody involved. If my team does well, “hooray!” should by my sentiment. Not “ha ha your guys choked”. If my team doesn’t do well: “dang, maybe next year”, and time to go do something else I enjoy. Don’t read the comments. Both easier said than done.
  16. Sunday Santana gonna hit a pinch hit HR in game 3. Calling it.
  17. Outgetters’ Row
  18. I’ve got five words for you: “Soup threw it out great.”
