  1. I'd probably sit Rodgers for Boyle next drive. Rodgers is proud to a fault. Doubt we see Boyle unless the Niners score again here. That’s why it isn’t his call.
  2. So I’m starting to think the asking price on Fitzpatrick would have been worth it.
  3. Our schedule has been absolutely stacked with great opposing defenses. Minnesota has not had quite the gauntlet, so it’s not exactly an apples to apples comparison. No question, though, I like their weapons better than ours. And, tonight notwithstanding, I like our o-line better, definitely in pass pro, but I’d be interested in seeing the run blocking comps.
  4. Horrific angle by Savage’s backup (looked like Sullivan?). I can’t understand how this is the result after a bye week. Just awful.
  5. You clearly get what you pay for when you invest major draft capital in the defensive line. We have prioritized quite differently, and I’m not saying that has necessarily been the wrong play, as there are many ways to build a winner. But we quite evidently don’t match up well against this defense, and it’s a problem.
  6. I guess that was payback for Detroit
  7. The margins at the top in the NFC are ridiculously tight. Packers could lose today and then conceivably need to win next week to avoid falling out of playoff position entirely. But if they win tonight they’re in pole position. This is going to be tense. How? The Packers pretty much can't miss the playoffs at this point. They'd almost surely have to lose 7 games and stand a shot of getting in even if they do that. Good call—misread the standings. My bad.

  9. With all of San Fran’s pass catchers on track to play, this is going to be a huge test. I want a win, of course, but I won’t consider a close loss all that disheartening. If the Packers get dismantled, however, and the 49ers run it down their throats and eviscerate the middle of the field with Kittle and WR in-routes—after a Packers bye and full health, no less—then it’s going to be hard coming away from this one with championship-level confidence. They could still turn it around, of course, but if the same old problems aren’t getting fixed by now, when is it going to happen?
  10. No view of the ball. Play should stand
  11. Even getting interfered with.
  12. A bit unsettling they can't put the clamps on him. This has overtime loss written all over it
  13. Allen is burning up some lives on this drive
  14. Deserve ain’t got nothing to do with it.
  15. Simple. On the road, TD wins it instead of ties it. Unconventional, but not without logic. Analytically not much difference between going for 1 or 2 anyway with a likely slight advantage to going for 2. Yeah, the players are not doing much to demonstrate the wisdom of going for it in situations like that, but I’ve liked the calls from both MLF (can we just call him “Frenchie”) and Rivera. I think the numbers bear it out and will over time be the better strategy.
  16. Maybe his middle name is Irving. Patrick. Real missed opportunity by his folks.
  17. I think Bakhtiari should give Adams his gift from A-Rod this year.
  18. With New Orleans already having lost and Minnesota yet to play, hanging on in this one feels so critical.
