  1. My goodness, I know the fact that officiating issues are a narrative, so now every review, delay, or mistake just amplifies that narrative, but man, this is getting rough. Really rough.
  2. What a break this would be. But it’s up to the diviners in New York, so who knows what the call will be.
  3. So I gotta admit, I thought the offense would be the bigger problem today. Boy was I wrong.
  4. At some point, the team is going to pay for continued offensive ineptitude, be it because of scheme, injury, lack of execution, or some combination of the three. It probably should have been last week, but they escaped. I’m starting to doubt they get so lucky this week. I think the Packers *should* still win, despite everything, but expect a letdown loss.
  5. Nope. The NFL owes me one more just for the fail mary game.... Indeed, brother. At least.
  6. I’ve seen too many Packers games lost or tied due to horrible officiating to care about the Lions at this point. Cry me a river.
  7. Receivers’ hands...not so much.
  8. Last week, I thought Gutekunst should go pay Cincy whatever they wanted for AJ Green. But this team needs help a heck of a lot sooner than Green would be able to make an impact. This offense is hamstrung right now.
  9. We got a 50-50 review call to go our way!
  10. Cleveland’s offensive line is a wet paper sack. SF is good, but I’m cautiously optimistic that they aren’t *that* good. And, suffice it to say, Rodgers>Mayfield.
  11. That’s a huge FG miss. Nice job, Cowboys
  12. That’s a play where you eat the flag, and if the league office really thinks it’s bad after watching the replay all week, they can fine the defender. I know you have to avoid the QB’s head, but there has to be some common sense here. That hit was not “forceful” in any way shape or form.
  13. Whatever the result, every phase of this team still clearly has A LOT of room for growth. I know injuries are playing a role, but this second half has been abysmal.
  14. Alexander is getting humbled in this game. I like Pettine’s aggression with single-high safety looks (after what seems like a lifetime of Capers playing soft all the time when up double digits), but it may be time to keep the lid on it. Quick strikes are going to kill us. And offense? Do your cussing job.
  15. So, how about a ten minute TD drive here, fellas? Gotta figure out how to finish off opponents.
  16. Apparently, if you take away Dak’s all-world offensive line, he magically transforms into Russell Wilson. I don’t like that development.
  17. Za’Darius Smith is the Lorenzo Cain of the Packers. He’s always going down in a heap, wincing and limping off the field. Then he comes back and makes a spectacular play.
  18. So, I keep waiting for Rodgers to hit a receiver in stride on a deep go route. MVS has to slow down on that, and it just seems like the timing on those throws has been off for a while, going back years. I know that’s probably a low-percentage throw at that depth of the field, but am I wrong in my impression that Rodgers is missing a lot more of those than he should?
  19. RT Collins down for Cowboys. Huge if he can’t go. Dak is going to be on the run.
  20. Yeah, so we’re going to need a welfare check on the residence of one John Edward “Skip” Bayless II. Any volunteers?
  21. Every year at this time, I come to the same realization: I hate how much I love this game. A month off is a healthy thing, for me anyway. Before I hit close on another season, I just want to say how grateful I am for this online community. I have almost no one to talk Brewers with where I live, and my fan life would be so much poorer if it weren’t for the insight, the wit, the joy, and even the heartache I find with you here. Thanks for another great year. See you all over the hot stove.
  22. You've angered the sports gods and need to make amends. I blame Braun for the roids lie and Rodgers for not calling his parents. It’s been downhill pretty much ever since, and it’s cost the good people of Wisconsin two Super Bowls, a World Series, and Christian Yelich’s knee. The sin must be purged. [half blue]
  23. Look, relievers are volatile. It is tough to expect consistent excellence one year to the next. And it’s not totally outside the realm of possibility that he will have a major slide next year. But if you look at a pitcher that performed like a Hader did this year and all you see is trash, and you’re going on record saying he’s going to be 5+ era guy—borderline un-rosterable, then I don’t know what to tell you. You are letting your emotions cloud your judgment. He has a home run problem, no one will argue that, but this is a league-wide issue. You have to consider this in that context. The ball is juiced and guys are looking for bombs every at bat. Tonight, though, wasn’t even about the home run ball. His location issues could easily be attributed to a long season where injuries forced him to be used in a role for which he isn’t properly suited. If CC had any more reliable relievers to take the late innings consistently, he would have spared Hader this fate but they had nothing. You could tell they so desperately wanted Peralta to be that guy, but it wasn’t to be. Hader is not trash, he’s gassed. He was throwing only 96 tonight. He needed more help, and it never materialized.
