  1. I love going for it there. I don’t love Bakhtiari’s effort on that feeble attempt at blocking McCoy. He just isn’t right.
  2. AR just made Kuechly look bad. That ain’t easy.
  3. Why don’t teams just do crossing routes every single time? Good grief
  4. Pass interference was an offseason emphasis by the NFL. So, naturally, it’s more broken than ever, and teams are so resigned to the brokenness, they don’t even bother trying a challenge on such an obvious bad call? Does the NFL want to continue plumbing the depths of fan credulity?
  5. I agree with every word of this post, and believe it to be 100% factual. The reporters asked Anderson what he thought about the Brewers pitching going forward, and he responded by saying it was going to be a different group (it is!) and that the front office knows what it's doing (they do!) It was a classy thing to say on the way out, but in no way a clue or riddle that the team is going to change up how they fundamentally operate. "But men may construe things after their fashion, Clean from the purpose of the thing themselves." (Julius Caesar, 1.3.34-35)--in which Shakespeare's Cicero tells Cassius to cool it on the hot stove rumors already. We'll all know the truth in time, and (the Ides of) March is a long way away.
  6. This has all the makings of a “smelling salts” loss. Team needs to wake up and get back to work. They aren’t championship caliber yet.
  7. Offense needs one heck of a halftime adjustment.
  8. This is not feeling like a 3 TD game yet. Maybe it gets there, but we’re a long way away from that.
  9. Za’Darius Smith was booked for speeding and possession of marijuana on Sept. 29th, according to multiple reports, including the Journal Sentinel. Rashan Gary and Kingsley Keke were also in the car at the time but were not cited. The incident was, by all accounts, uneventful and did not involve any suspicion of driving under the influence. As such, no criminal charges are expected, but NFL discipline can’t be ruled out once the case officially concludes.
  10. I imagine Gute probably talks about a lot of things with a lot of teams, as any good GM should. That being said, I’ll believe the Packers actively tried to get Bell when, to paraphrase Chief O’Hagan, my poop turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet.
  11. A lot of people missed the kill shot on the Nats. Just gotta tip your cap to them. Someday, baby...
  12. Game 7 living up to expectations. Greinke pitches his butt off (I don’t think I’ll ever not root for that guy), then Astros pen promptly blows the lead. My only problem is that I don’t really want either team to win, but other than that, this is fun.
  13. Chargers firing OC Ken Whisenhunt could be a major wildcard. There’s potential for some unscouted looks and players being used differently on that side of the ball, and who knows how that will go. Not sure if I find that comforting coming off another shaky defensive performance from the pack.
  14. This team doesn't need to be playing its best ball in October, and it is unrealistic to expect an org with a 1st year head coach to be seamless this soon. For all that, 7-1 is phenomenal, and they aren't playing New England's schedule, either. I loved the adjustments on both sides of the ball after halftime, and am incredibly encouraged about where things stand now. There will be more adversity ahead, but a 5-3 finish nets a 12-4 record. I'll take that every single year, please and thank you.
  15. Wow, zebras. Keep it in your pants. (the flag, that is)
  16. I roll A-Rodg out with an option for a pass or run for 1st down. Trust your smartest player with the game in hand.
  17. Our punter is being out-punted. What the heck?
  18. Jaire had one, I think?
  19. It was a joke for KC's defense, alright.
  20. Hmmm, not that officiating can be complained about too much this year, but I’d say hands to the face is being called rather sporadically tonight.
  21. Good thing Andy Reid is allergic to running plays.
  22. Indeed. When *baseball* is more tolerant of celebrations than you are, you've got a problem. Good on the NFL for lightening up.
