  1. Not sure what rodgers is whinging about, there was nothing there. He just forced that one.
  2. Wow, no tripping call there? Zebras are in mid-game form on the first series.
  3. No they shouldn't because since September 14 they are averaging 4.75 runs per game whereas the Brewers are averaging 3.35 runs per game. Hope that helps. The Brewers averaged that with several key pieces missing time, and the last week being played under less than serious conditions, if we’re being specific. However, that isn’t even really my point. The idea that any of it has any bearing on the postseason is understandable, since we have a natural inclination to think things that are going a certain way will continue that way indefinitely, and we also naturally think in terms of certain narrative forms which provide a logical frame for how we receive all subsequent information. Hence, Brewers offense = bad, ergo, Brewers offense will be bad every game from here on out, repeated as nauseam. Baseball doesn’t really work that way, though, and it stubbornly defies our innate desire for narrative-building, especially when you get into scenarios that are defined by both small sample sizes and shifting tactical decisions (expanded rosters, elimination games, etc.). All that is to say that it doesn’t really do much good to be too anxious about past performance at this point, which have almost no bearing on future results. Buy a ticket and enjoy the ride. It’s the playoffs, baby.
  4. I’m going to feel the same pending the results of Monday’s game. That one is going to be really pivotal. I feel very good about being up 2-1, and really pessimistic about being down 1-2. These short series hinge on game three.
  5. Should the Braves offense be considered terrible for only averaging two runs per game in these playoffs? I’m just wondering how our little rhetorical game is being played here.
  6. Bc our only other available catcher was a slumping lefty.
  7. What happened? According to GameDay both Ball 2 and 3 to Swanson were called correctly just off the plate. Dansby had a checked swing that was a clear swing, 1B ump blew it
  8. Eh, he's just being a goof. It's fine. I still love the guy
  9. I think he got the sliding glove. But they won’t give us that.
  10. Good low-leverage spot to let the kid cut his postseason teeth.
  11. Yeah, I guess only certain rules matter. Glove color is a felony, though.
  12. I’m seeing a lot of veteran posters acting like this is their first time watching a playoff series. Let’s show a little optimism here!
  13. And just like that, LA needs three out of four to advance. Good, good. Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.
  14. Say it ten more times for the people on the back.
