  1. I’m done doubting this team. There are parts of it that could be better, and that’s inevitable. Maybe they lose in the playoffs, and most teams do. But they are good enough to win it all, period. Time to let the chips fall where they may.
  2. What a performance, Houser! Unbelievable that he’d be the one to get a CG this year.
  3. What the heck, Brewers. I leave you guys alone for three innings…
  4. I agree with your premise entirely, but ooof, that could be some bitter milk.
  5. Yes, the Dodgers win puts them a half game up on the Giants. The Giants 5 game division lead on August 13 disappeared in less than 3 weeks. Even when the Giants had a five game lead back on August 13th, their Division Odds were 49.4% compared to 49.5% for the Dodgers. The last time the Brewers had a division lead as small as five games was way back on July 16th at which point their Division Odds were 85.3%. Not all leads are created equally. Translation: the Dodgers =/= the Reds
  6. I would get behind this only because the nauseating wall-to-wall coverage and hype would be over very quickly, and we can all get on appreciating the other better and less-endowed baseball teams go about their postseason business.
  7. [sarcasm]I'm sensing a lot of April 14th, 1912 energy on this board right now. Might be time to cool it or take it to the optimism thread...[/sarcasm] But seriously, this thing is over. I'm enjoying the countdown, and as others have said, what is shaping up to be the strongest team in franchise history, certainly the best I've ever seen. What a ride this is going to be for the next month plus.
  8. I read somewhere that the Coens had Sam Elliot do one particular line like 13 times. After take 13 he asked them if there was something he could do differently. They said no. They got it on take two but just liked hearing him deliver the dialog. I size up people in my personal life by delivering this line (in a Sam Elliott drawl, of course) and seeing who gets it and who has no idea what I'm talking about.
  9. Dude is rocking a .186 BA and a .623 OPS...in AAA. This moves the needle even less than Axford's resigning to become a one-appearance gas can so defective he nuked his own elbow, so I'm assuming this is the ultimate example of a "break glass in case of emergency" kind of deal.
  10. He's still helping us out. Gotta love him. For real though, I'm sorry about the whole crying thing, but really glad that deal ended up nixed.
  11. Station to station Burnesy And under no circumstances should he or any other pitcher ever dive back to the bag. I'll take the out every time. Please...
  12. Go Burnes, but I hate it when our pitchers have to run the bases. I don't need that anxiety.
  13. Ok, I had been hoping to merely not get swept and for all to leave this series without injury. Now I guess I have to add COVID-free to the list. I get it, but we've had plenty of exposure and a good vaxxed percentage. Plus, on-field transmission is not super likely. Pretty low-risk for the Brewers on that front. Oh, for sure, my comment was half blue. Heck, I don't feel overly worried when I go play beer league sand volleyball, and I guarantee the clientele at my watering hole has a much lower vaccination rate than MLB teams.

  15. Nothing really changes in this life. The sun goes up, and it goes down. Death, taxes, and we struggle against the Twins.
  16. Is blue just mad now? C’mon, man, you’re a professional.
