  1. Typically I'd agree. But Hiura as somebody noted, had the worst in the zone contact last season and it's very obvious hes not making contact on direct middle of zone pitches already. 40%k pct is going to be tough to carry a 220BA. That's not 1b material. Get him figured out in the minors rather than sitting through this pain. Or just fire Haines to buy him some time. The thing I don't understand is why in the heck is he hitting 2nd?? If Wong does get on base what is the odd that Hiura is even making contact to move him along?? I have not like any of Counsell lineups this season.
  2. If Hiura can't hit field or throw what's he doing in the show?? Now if we cut Mckinney or somebody who can actually play later when they add a pitcher you will know they are not being serious about winning.
  3. This is actually interesting. It seems to happen in baseball quite a bit. You would think a guy who was not a very good hitter or pitcher would have not a ton of credibility when it comes to teaching the art. It is something that I wonder about but maybe the guys who are good can't really explain why they were good??
  4. The whole win with pitching and defense thing is cool and all except you can't really win with zero runs can you??
  5. Greene would be a good get. I am one who prefers to use Hader as a true anytime fireman not so much as a one inning closer. More back end options are good especially with Williams being a mystery until we actually see him pitch again.
  6. People complain when the brewers don't spend money then complain when they do. Is Bradley the best use of cash?? Probably not but can he help them get where they need to go ?? I think so. The bench has the potential to be pretty good this season. The defense much improved. If Yelich is Yelich again and pitching is healthy pencil them into the playoffs. All you can ask.
  7. Yes. Yes it would. I can't believe Marwin Gonzalez got 1 year 3 million. seems like they were all in on Turner and got caught holding the bag. Need a bounce back. Fast.
  8. We have seen this before where they come up short on one guy and then pocket the money offered and do nothing. The hope is if this money has been earmarked to player salaries that it still will in some shape or fashion. You can't go into this season with what they have at third base. Shortstop is always going to be a problem as long as Arcia is around so something has to be done on the left side.
  9. I could write 100% of his stories and he never gets any scoops. Must be the cushiest job in journalism. Facts. Dude is washed. Need new blood to bring some life and some push back on the we are broke scenario.
  10. As much of a bummer as it is being the bridesmaid yet again, there is a bit of a silver lining in that news. They are willing to spend money to make sizable improvements. If they were willing to throw that kind of money at Turner, I wonder if there is any chance they make a play for Kris Bryant? Probably wishful thinking. I would love this but there is no way they going to ship him to Milwaukee. They are about get swamped in Chicago by the Sox and to help the Crew would be death to them locally. If your Stearns make the call though.
  11. Brewers offered 2 years 35 million. If that's the case then they have money to play with that we didn't think they had. Use it and make the club better. Walker and Jeffress would be nice.
  12. Has anyone ever acquired three hall of famers in a single season?? The Simmons/Fingers/Vuckovich trade was prior to the 1981 season. Sutton was acquired in 1982. You are correct. My bad.
  13. Has anyone ever acquired three hall of famers in a single season??
  14. It's February and the Brewers do not have a single above average infielder on the roster. How is this possible?? Who's to blame??
  15. Brewers wouldn't have to do much at all this offseason to be the favorites in division. Make a move or two why not??
  16. He was an embarrassment all season He was terrible all year and never really seemed to care body language wise. Hard to know what happened.
  17. Yes and No. Yes because you thought you had a stud to build around. No because no one contract should make you terrible if you draft and develop properly. Will it make things harder for sure but if you don't trade #1 picks for a bag of beans and draft Corey Ray's then you can still be good.
