  1. I believe they are the worst. Or they were. But that might have changed. At this point who cares. Our bullpen sucks This is exactly what I was getting at. I guess they are trying hard so no big deal to some here.
  2. My point is there hasn't been any accountability. Braun hitting 3 all year despite not being able to put a ball in play most of the time just one example. They set a tone early that there were going to be lousy doing the little things to score runs. Nothing changed all year long and it's going to cost them a postseason spot.
  3. [sarcasm]Oh, cool, so you sit in on the meetings with the hitting coach, then? What are those like?[/sarcasm] Good response. My bad. They have made strides and now are great in these spots.
  4. The bases loaded nobody out situation once again is killer. Lucky to even score one run. You can't win like this. Nothing has been done to change it.
  5. The implosion of Burnes cannot be overstated. This time last year the dude looked like a top end starter. At the very least a high leverage reliever. To have him become unpitchable is the single most important thing that has happened to this team this season. If it doesn't turn around it's a killer.
  6. I tend to go with the known over the unknown. Arcia is what he is at this point. Dubon who knows? I think he should at least equal Arcia with the stick. Glove probably makes Arcia the more valuable of the two.
  7. I don't know about that. That rightfielder seems pretty decent, and they have a young 2B who is hitting OK. Honestly, this is a team that has a legit super-duperstar in Yelich, and potential ones in Hiura and Woodruff. If they can make smart moves to surround those guys with solid MLB players, that is the foundation of a strong team for the next 3 years. I agree with you on the two studs. That said Cain and Braun have played their best ball. First base? Third base with no Moose? Catcher with no Grandal? Arcia? I mean it could be brutal. Outside of Woodruff and I guess Davies who is a lock for the rotation? Nelson appears done. I hope you are right but with the roster looking questionable to say the least you would love a few more high impact farmhands.
  8. Wow Astros get Greinke and Sanchez for 7 prospects. What would it be like to have that kind of farm depth to deal from? This is a scary time to be a brewers fan. They have very little on the horizon and the team on the field doesn't look great especially if Moose and Grandal leave.
  9. Very disappointing day. Dubon will be a good add for two guys who will not factor into the equation as far as difference making. Brewers are now locked into Arcia for the foreseeable future and the pitching is still no good. I actually can't blame Stearns though. They have nothing to deal of value to get what they need and it appears they don't want to add any major money so they are going to say we tried and hope fans keep coming out. Oh well. Too bad. They are in no mans land.
  10. I just don't see how Stearns can buy. There just isn't enough to think this team can do it. I just don't know how you can do it.
  11. I will never understand being called out on strikes with a fastball. If you snap off a curve so be it but fastball with two strikes? Happens way to often.
  12. So Grisham hits for the cycle with two bombs. It's time to get serious. Is he gone or do we need him in our lineup?
  13. It's tough to explain but Cain hasn't been on base enough and whoever hits behind Yelich has been blah. To me that has been the biggest problem. Just haven't had any consistency. Also does this team ever hit doubles anymore? Seems like the only extra base hits you see are home runs.
  14. Counsell was asked today about trading a Moose for pitching since they have no prospects. He said no way because the offense is going to carry them where they want to go. He should have said who the heck is going to play third base Travis Shaw??
  15. I think the caliber of prospects dealt so far is actually right in the wheelhouse of what the Brewers have to offer. No one has traded anything that can be considered a top-flight prospect yet. This may be true but teams probably have more of them in which to deal. Brewers cupboard is so bare it's tough to give up what little they do have. Hopefully they can find a partner who can make something happen.
  16. Reality is brewers farm currently ranks last on BA. This means any trade of any value is going to probably not happen because we are in even worse shape than I think any of us realize. Brewers are in a weird spot. They have nothing to trade except major league talent that in most cases has underperformed. Stearns has his work cut out.
  17. There's the Orlando we know. Has a major league team ever been in this bad a shape in the rotation and been a game out of first place? It's unbelievable. They literally have nobody to start the next two games in the whole organization that you would say good call. It is a slap of reality that is for sure.
  18. Cubs have 6 hits Brewers have 4 so close game.
  19. The thing that is unbelievable is Jeffress strikes out the first two hitters then walks Ian Happ who was in the minors last week. I'll never understand how guys literally just lose it from pitch to pitch. Been happening all year long.
  20. He still needs to buckle down and get the out, for sure. But that is not at all entirely on Jeffress. This still highlights a glaring hole in Hiuras game. No doubt Hiura has some work to do. He looks better than Weeks when he came up so there is that but yeah you are right.
