We don't have one. That is the point I'm making. Not having one is silly. You have to have someone to swing a bat right handed off the bench in a big spot. Good ab by the kid though.

What pen?? The way Chase is dealing he could finish this thing...or go 8 at least. I would go that route for sure.

2 runs is more than I figured with this lineup. Tack on a couple more because we know our pen is cheeks.

I don't know ... I think he's been pretty reliable since he was acquired. Even giving up lots of HRs last year his ERA was under 4. He's a solid, durable #3-4 starter. All in all I agree but given how last year ended for him and being sent to the pen in the spring his season is a bit of a surprise.

Give Chase credit. He has been reliable for the most part and pretty good all season. Who would have thought?

3 left handed bats today spells trouble for scoring runs.

To me I am shocked that they continue to roll with all these lefties and no back up shortstop. Shaw didn't even play last night against a righty. What is he bringing to the table? The Pina catching Grandal at first lineup is not great in my opinion. The fact that they don't even have a right handed pinch hitter is embarrassing. If Gamel has lost his spot to Grisham maybe they do have to send him out and bring back Perez. You can't go like this another week can you?

Diaz looks so much like Javy Baez it's shocking. Even at the plate you can tell he has watched him quite a bit. Happy for him.I saw him with the Rattlers and he was one of the best they have had there. He's going to be good.

Big win tonight. As bad as things look the reality is the Cubs are playing tough As who are no slouches and the Cardinals are busy with the Dodgers. Sweep the Pirates and you could chop a couple games off and be at least a third wheel.

Try to move Cain. Get Braun ready to play first base with Thames. Let Grandal walk. Bring back Moose. Trade Arcia. Cut Shaw. Find three starters and give them whatever it takes. Hope Knebel comes back healthy. Play Pina and bring back Maldonado or someone like that. Put Burnes in the pen and keep him there.

In the old days you could look to September call ups to see some future stars with the Crew at least. Can't wait for this tear with Perez Saladino Taylor Williams and Burch Smith. Gonna be sweet.

Play Grisham from here on out. Cain and Braun don't exactly scream future.

I'm very disappointed with the season but called it pretty early when the young guns flamed out. I have had plenty of time to accept reality. Now I just don't want to hear Stearns and company post morten talking about how we have a good group of guys and had tough luck with injuries blah blah. If he says hey this season is on me and we need to spend some money to buy some pitching I'm back on board. Oh also coaches matter. Sorry DJ come on back and we will double your salary. That's what we need to demand. No more dumpster diving. You want to win now spend now.

The fact that I have Direct TV means I have been spared this implosion. Didn't think I would be happy about that but they have only won 1 game since the blackout.
