  1. The Brewers seem to have a ton of guys who are AAAA caliber like Saledino Barnes Williams Wilkerson etc... It's one thing to have quality depth but it doesn't appear to be major league quality depth.
  2. I was on the train of no playoffs this year for aheywhile. This team reminds me of the Roenicke one that fell completely apart in the second half and finished under 500. A couple more weeks but I think they win 78.
  3. It's funny how they just said Brewers signed Shelby Miller. Even though he sucks brewers think they can fix him. Why can't they fix the bums they have if that's the case? Unbelievable.
  4. Restock the farm. This team needs pitching. Sell now and you get more back by giving them an extra couple of weeks to use the new toy. High end arms should be the target. Anyone remember when Burnes was untouchable?
  5. How can you be serious about winning and give up 10 runs to Giants? 5 home runs? Like I said Counsell has no options. The guy is pushing Hader because he can't trust anyone else. Now he's got the rest of the weekend with no bullpen. You can't win this way. I'm not sure what you want Counsell to do with this mess.
  6. Here's the thing if Counsell trusted these guys he would have put one of them in the eighth. Everyone knows he's out of options here. Tough to win that way.
  7. I wonder with the price of pitching what it is if Stearns looks to add a bat like he did last year with Moose and Schoop. This team needs to try to win 8-7 most nights. Not sure what's out there but may be cheaper than pitching.
  8. This game looks alot like the games in the first half. Bullpen is a dumpster fire. Not sure what's going to change between now and the end of the year if something isn't done soon.
  9. Having both Shaw and Perez in AAA is something no one would have guessed possible. They both may be trade bait to make something happen on the pitching front. It's been a wild first half for sure.
  10. Ok we are all in agreement that we want the brewers to make the playoffs. That said knowing what we know from the first half I think there is a huge disagreement on if they are going to be in or out. I would be interested in taking the temp on if people think they will end up in or out and why. I for one believe they will finish out. In my opinion the pitching is even worse than feared. Sure Stearns will make a move or two but they don't have enough to grab an impact starter. The bullpen needs three arms and they have limited currency to deal. The division is deeper than thought and I don't think a wildcard comes out of the central. It's division or bust and don't think they get it done unfortunately. Anyone else??
  11. I already like Dubon approach better than Arcia.
  12. Would you rather be the Reds or the Cubs? Honest question. All things considered probably the Reds. Minors much stronger and I trust DJ to work with the arms they have on the way. Cubs are in salary jail and minors are barren.
  13. He's been a starter his entire career and this year he pitches 5 times a week. Might have something to do with it. He pitched exclusively as a starter one season of his entire career. Every other season he’s pitched some out of the pen, even through the minors. He's started 20 plus games the past three seasons. That sounds like a starter to me but go ahead as you were saying.
  14. Who else does he have?? I'm tough on Counsell too but the dude is out of buttons to press. I got hammered for saying they need more bullpen arms because Hader is at risk. Now of course his back is acting up which is a problem when he's all you have. It's a mess but Counsell isn't the blame.
  15. I said in Cincinnati who would you rather be at this point Reds or brewers? I'd say the same thing now. Who would you rather be the Pirates or Brewers right now? Brewers right now appear to be the worst team in a bad division.
  16. He's been a starter his entire career and this year he pitches 5 times a week. Might have something to do with it.
  17. Gulp Double gulp. Sad to say you knew it was going to go down like this. This team stinks. Nothing you can really say or do at this point. Feel bad for Counsell. Sell and restock for next year with some arms.
