  1. People who talk baseball expansion only need to watch a guy like Dan Jennings. A guy who keeps getting job after job being terrible. Where are you going to get players from. He would pitch till he's 45.
  2. Arcia has got to make routine plays like that. Pitcher up what is the rush to have to backhand?? Lack of awareness is stunning with him sometimes.
  3. Why Shaw instead of Moose with a lefty going is beyond me unless he's banged up. Shaw might as well take a rolled up newspaper up there against them.
  4. A ground ball to the right side Hernan. My little league team does it all the time. Jeez.
  5. I know Williams is a reliever but you can't get a bunt down? It's so frustrating to watch guys who have played ball their whole lives not be able to do it. League wide issue. It's terrible.
  6. Thats cool, I have reached my tipping point with people saying things that make no sense and then defending it when questioned. There is no way that someone who really gets baseball thinks Guerra has been good this season. If he wants to piss on me because I look at meaningful stats instead of a 17 IP sample of ERA which takes 500 IP to start to become meaningful so be it. This forum has been corrupted by knee jerk low knowledge posters to the point it is hard to stomach visiting at this point. I actually have him on ignore because of the consistent low quality posts but I made the mistake of clicking on display this one time. Anyone referencing ERA in a 17 IP sample just doesn't get baseball, it means absolutely nothing in that sample. (Shrug) Not everyone here really follows baseball on a deep analytical level, and that's okay. We're all just fans anyway. The question is why are you questioning it? Live and let live.
  7. Translation: "Yes" At least he was honest. We all know it so kudos to him for acknowledging it.
  8. Nationals fire Derek Lilliquist as pitching coach already. Brewers would be wise to not wait if they think Hook should be given the hook. So far he appears to be overmatched in this role. Nobody except for Davies and Guerra has exceeded expectations. His prior work with the young guys was supposed to be a positive but we know how that's worked out. Nationals not messing around says a ton.
  9. Reading a post like this reminds me of why we need a like button. Until we fix this pitching mess (both the starters and bullpen) any notions of making the post season let alone having success there is a waste of time. Thanks bro. I appreciate someone not taking offense at a point of view.
  10. Reading a post like this reminds me of why we need a like button. Until we fix this pitching mess (both the starters and bullpen) any notions of making the post season let alone having success there is a waste of time. It reminds me of why we need a dislike button because it is so obtuse that it is worthless. This is an excellent response. What was I thinking?
  11. It's not worth it man. Tons of people have tried to set this guy straight, tons of times, and he just keeps on spouting off the same garbage thread after thread, night after night. It just doesn't sink in. Set me straight? There hasn’t been anyone, so far, that’s refuted anything I’ve said, let alone “set me straight” Just lots of “ Mark A is a great owner” talk or unless you work for the crew you don’t know crap. Just think on this for more than a moment: The reds, with way less revenue, have the same payroll we do! And we’re supposed to be all in? 1 game from the World Series vs last place team! Really? It is hard to believe how much time and energy people spend trying to tear down someone's opinion. Nobody on this board works in baseball. We are all just fans who want the Brewers to do well. I will never understand people who just can't say interesting point but I don't agree without typing an essay to make someone feel like you know more than they do. I we agree to disagree but man it's rough when people can't express an opinion without dudes with 5000 posts!!! telling you to shut up. Don't like someone's take? Put down the keyboard and back away slowly.
  12. You just made my point for me old school. Don't mean to offend you by having a different opinion but feel free to ignore mine since you don't like it. No harm done on my end.
  13. Limited resources? Why are they limited? Limited by the salary cap? Luxury taxes? I don't get limited. They found 30 million dollars laying around for Moose and Grandal and I was fine with it. They found a ton of dough to refurbish spring training site. Miley wants an extra million bucks and all of a sudden we are limited? Do not let the small market team off the small market hook.
  14. I'm with you on Miley, but this is pretty revisionist. To develop young starters you have to play them in the majors. I didn't like Peralta, but it's hard to argue that at the end of last year, there wasn't reason to be optimistic about all three guys. These guys didn't come up in April, they were making meaningful contributions in a pennant race. I don't think anyone saw this kind of trouble coming. Basically it was a worst case scenario that happened. Even in my preseason nightmare, at least one guy would be a reliable starter at this point. The Knebel thing sucks. The timing of it sucked worse. Still hope for Woodruff. My thing is a team that is playing to win now to the extent that we have 30 million in one year deals for Moose and Grandal is riding with 3 rookie starters and no safety net? It never made sense and makes even less looking at it now.
  15. The shame of what has happened to this pitching staff is you could see it coming from a mile away. This team has not developed an every day starter since Galiardo. Nelson counts of course but unfortunately is injured. Letting cheap available starters like Miley go to risk it on the young guns was silly. Then the depth of the bullpen took a hit with injuries and no one of note was brought in to bolster it. I was on record as saying I would have added a reliever before the injuries because the Tyler Thonburg syndrome hits relievers every year. Anyway it's too bad. This fan base deserves better.
