  1. This offense is not conductive to a one game playoff. They are just too inconsistent to feel good about any one game situation. Unfortunately that's what it looks like it will be.
  2. Roberto Alomar I mean Adam Frasier is on base again. What is the scouting report on this guy?? Unbelievable.
  3. There was a time when Thames was a lock for playoff roster. That is long gone. He seems mentally done.
  4. Lead off hit and I am bunting with Arcia there. Just little chance of him putting a ball in play there.
  5. Two outs nobody on and give up a hit to the pitcher. Down two we might be toast against Williams.
  6. Yeah Braun hitting after Yelich is an invitation to pitch around your best hitter all day long. Who wouldn't?
  7. The same people who don't care if Counsell gets asked about this are same people who couldn't believe he wasn't asked about the Hader situation. The media job is to ask any and all relevant questions. If the Cubs switch catchers from Contreras to someone else Maddon will be on the SCORE getting grilled. It's just shocking to me that the question has never even been addressed at all.
  8. Pina had a very good year last year and was your clear starting catcher all year. Finally started hitting well in the second half but is now playing less than a 38 yr old generally poor defensive C who's basically never made the bigs and is hitting terribly and you don't think someone should at least ask what the story is? Agree 100 percent. Isn't this why we follow the game to have discussion around the who what and why of the team we love? Some folks just want to know if they won or not case closed.
  9. This ain't football. There is no philosophical advantage to be gained by know Kratz catches Miley or Kratz catches on Wednesday or whatever. If there is a plan other than Kratz is our new number one catcher because he's gritty let's hear it.
  10. A team that keeps winnings games. And they didn’t switch catchers like you’re implying. Pina was god awful for a long time and has been banged up to say the least. He and Kratz are on a pretty obvious rotation because CC has determined it’s what’s best for the team. My point exactly. Your guessing they are on an obvious rotation. If so what is it?? The point is New York Boston Chicago the question gets asked and answered. Here we rely on your guess. I guess asking Counsell the question of what's the plan is too much to ask.
  11. I'm trying to imagine another baseball market where the contending team can switch catchers in the middle of the season and the question is never even asked of management the reason. Unbelievable. Pina hits a huge homer last game. Team has the next day off and we still get Kratz behind the dish. Whatever happened to make him fall out of favor will be an interesting conversation when he signs with his new team in the off season.
  12. Does anyone know what to expect from this team night to night? It is not a foregone conclusion this team makes it still. Especially if Cain has to sit for a few. I assume he out tomorrow with off day Thursday.
  13. The fact that this team has to go on the road to play Pirates and Cards means this playoff spot business is definitely not in the bag. Reds were best hope to pocket some wins. Frustration.
  14. Why is Broxton in the game and Santana on the bench? Man. Perez and Broxton in a game we need is brutal.
  15. Woodruff can be down right nasty man. That last pitch 96 with cut. Like him alot.
  16. I don't know about you guys but every groundball hit to Moose seems like an automatic out. Dude is impressive at third.
  17. Harrison hit .240 and 19 HRs at AA. Struck out 215 times, however. Still a ton of talent, but lots of swing and miss. Diaz was pretty much the same as 2017. .230ish batting average, around 15 HR, but 140K. Again, he has talent, shows some power and patience - but big swing and miss tendencies. Was at AA. Jordan Yamamoto did quite well when he wasn't injured. He had a sub 2.00 ERA in around 70 innings between A and AA. But again, he had some injury issues. Interesting. Thanks!!
  18. Yelich winning a batting title would help his cause for mvp. I know people don't care much about average anymore but it still hardware to add to the case.
  19. Anyone know what Diaz or Harrison has done?? I know Brinson has been terrible.
  20. I have not seen anything like Yelich in this second half. He is 26. Peak years are 27-31. Goodness.
