Thing about Santana is he is up there swinging the bat as a pinch hitter. He was taking a ton of pitches before. Seems like he is just thinking this is it might as well hack.
I agree. I think we all knew it would come to this at the end of this deal but it does hurt. Problem only if he and Brewers don't face the reality that he is not who he was. Should not be an every day player at this point although his glove has been a revelation.
Santana has earned his way back. Good for him and the Brewers. If a trade can be made his value is on the rise. If not let him come to spring training and win a job.
It’s not your responsibility to moderate the board. If you don’t like what another poster says, but don’t have a thoughtful counterpoint, then just move on. Thank you. Appreciate this take.
Kratz is in the lineup again. This is unbelievable. There has to be more to the story. I am sure the crack Brewers press core will get to the bottom of this.
Man Schoop just doesn't make enough contact for me. His role going forward needs to be what? Not sure. Tough loss. Game management wasn't great but gotta score runs. Cubs just don't seem to lose games like these except to the Brewers.
The mystery with Kratz needs to be examined in detail. Somebody needs to ask that question in the media. It seems as if it's just accepted that a 38 year old catcher we rescued from AAA has taken over as our number one catcher. Crazy.
I thought pulling Davies when he did was a pretty deft move when he probably could have left him in another inning. His choice of relief pitcher left a bit to be desired, though. Frustration for sure. Taylor Williams seems to have disappeared.
Tonight is an example of why I worry about any 1 game playoff scenario with Counsell. There is just no way you can be sure this game will be managed well. Too much evidence to the contrary.
14 guys in the pen and Jacob Barnes draws the assignment in a 1 run game. Even the Pirates looked shocked. It is another inexplicable decision you have to live with with Craig.
