  1. This should be explored after this game but of course the media will not do it's job. 72 The guy is trying to burn through his pen by the break. Last year means nothing I guess.
  2. Right now the onus on Stearns to get Counsell a full bag. Right now we are short basically three major league players. You cannot win tight extra inning games playing with 22 guys against 25. It should not have come to this but it did and so here we are. Oh and three weak ground balls coming up here.
  3. Two out walk to a guy who is impossible to walk. As Pedro said Brewers have to tip the cap and call the Cubs their daddy.
  4. We can pitch Logan in this game yet he didn't pitch yesterday because he couldn't be trusted to keep it close. It cost us having to use JJ yesterday. Enough. You only have 25 guys. You cannot play with 23 men when you have sogard and Logan taking up spots. Do you want to win or not?
  5. JJ should be pretty fresh but he had to pitch in a loss yesterday so...
  6. Cubs showing what can be done when you have a lefty you can call on in a big spot. Logan should have faced Rizzo if he was any good. He isn't so he we are. Bad loss. Bad matchup.
  7. Well if you can't pitch Boone Logan there he shouldn't be on the team. Brewers been hiding him all season. Bad roster management. You know Rizzo is going yard off Albers.
  8. No way Hader is available. 38 pitches. He is done for the series.
  9. Is it me or did Pina just swing at about four balls?? I just don't understand the plate discipline this team lacks. How can you win games when you refuse to make them throw strikes.
  10. At bats like that for Santana almost make it seem like he doesn't care. I dunno what it is but just too easy for Strop.
  11. This was a big game before it started. Now it is a must win. Lose and the theory that Brewers are not ready for prime time is validated. The way this game got away is not good.
  12. Feels like game over. You cant score a leadoff double and then give up that?? They are melting down.
  13. That is why the Cubs beat the Brewers. Little stuff like that. Wow.
  14. why when a guy hits a home run they always show Darnell Coles like he had something to do with it?? I can't stand it. They never show him when guys strike out or Arcia does something dumb like swinging 3-0.
  15. Can someone tell me why Arcia is swinging 3-0?? Unbelievable. Bench him. Miller needs to get here stat!!
  16. Brewers suddenly with a potent bench tonight with Santana Shaw and Thames all available. Should give us some good matchups late.
  17. In my mind stealing Yelich in his age 26 season and locked up for more ups the Brewers situation considerably. Had we not made this move things on the major league side would not look nearly as good. Stearns deserves a ton of credit for this. Brinson and his struggles along with the fate of Reyes for the Cards shows that prospects are overrated period. You just can't count on them. Young major league proven talent ages 23-28 is generally what wins championships going back to Yankee teams with Jeter. Royals, Cubs, Astros most recent. I hope Stearns continues to look for deals like this moving forward. This deal alone moves him up to number two. Cubs have it locked just for winning most recent but the Darvish deal could sink them. Also not signing Alex Cobb gets high marks.
  18. I am curious as to how everyone would rank the division in terms of major league talent, minor league talent and front office talent. I for one feel like as it stands Brewers are #2 in all three areas. With Cubs being #1 in major league talent and front office and Cards #1 in minor league talent. I ask this because the Brewers rebuild while impressive is still lacking the kind of impact young talent that the Cubs and Astros used to win. Is this rebuild over?? Just starting?? Somewhere in between?? To me winning the division has to always be job one so your playoffs don't come down to one game. The other issue is the Brewers by virtue of improved play are already back drafting at the end of the round. Having only added the underwhelming Corey Ray as a top five talent looks like impact talent is not coming via the draft anytime soon. Teams like the Reds should be able to capitalize. Just wondering how people feel about where things stand right now and moving forward.
  19. It would be tough to give up on Arcia and his glove at this point but the onus has to be put on him to make some adjustments at the plate. It is unacceptable the lack of patience and strike zone awareness he has shown. Brewers in general to not have a good track record in this area but this is a franchise altering talent. The investment has to one the organization puts at the top of its priority list.
  20. True. Having a great bullpen is awesome and all. That said it seems like we are looking for about 75-80 pitches from our so called number one. Not good. Bullpen was toast last year by August. Same thing could happen this year if Counsell doesn't push the starters a bit.
