  1. Sorry but can’t say I’m sad that Villar is gone. Few players have ever frustrated me as much as he did. I’m glad we didn’t give up Burnes, Peralta or Hiura as the deadline has passed. Shaw, Moustakas and Schoop should each man a starting position in the infield, Arcia is the odd man out. I like him a lot but he has just performed terribly this year and the team is trying to make the playoffs. He can still get some PT to give a guy an off day or in case of an injury but that’s probably it. Most days it looks like it will be Shaw at second, Schoop at short and Moose at 3rd. Moose has an expensive team option after this year, so my thinking is they will decline it, Schoop has arbitration but should still be decently cheaper than Moustakas to retain, so I think he’ll be back next year and then he is a unrestricted FA after 2019. Moose like I said will probably be gone after this year, unless Stearns wants to give him $15 million. If he helps us win a World Series, then I could see Stearns paying him big bucks for 1 more season. Shaw should be here at least a few more years, and if Moose is gone he will move back to 3rd base, which would immediately open the door for Keston Hiura at second, which was the main point I was getting at. The way I see it, next year the infield will likely be Shaw at 3rd, Schoop at short and Hiura at second, because I think he’s ready. Otherwise if they want to give him a lot of time in AAA, then Schoop will probably be at second and Arcia will be at short next year, unless Moose is brought back which who knows if it will happen. We’ll see what happens. For now I like this move and our lineup should be deadly.
  2. Glasgow is still young and pitching better recently. Don’t know what people are talking about when they say Meadows is also failing, he’s hit .292 in 165 PA and he’s only 23. He’s a beast.
  3. I don’t want Peralta to be traded and I think those who want to trade him are foolish
  4. Hiura could be ready as soon as next year he doesn’t have much left to prove, so even if Moustakas is gone after this year Shaw could move back to 3B and Hiura could be ready. I’m warming up to this move a bit because I didn’t realize that Moustakas has an even lower K rate than Yelich and Cain, but his average is still low. And I’m sad Phillips is gone.
  5. Shaw will start at 2nd base tomorrow. Moustakas expected to play tomorrow. I don’t like giving up Phillips and I think Moustakas is overrated, especially if the Brewers lock in for his big bonus next year. Hopefully they don’t. He has only had 1-2 good seasons out of 8
  6. Man I wish Broxton could’ve been traded not Phillips. I hope Brett becomes an all star
  7. Per McCalvy: “So, with Davies down and Trade Deadline 6 days away, Brewers have 5 starters (Anderson, Chacin, Guerra, Miley, Peralta) plus Woodruff, who was optioned to Triple A yesterday and will stretch back out as a starter. After that, Wilkerson. Current plan is leave Burnes in ‘pen” The Brewers would rather waste time giving potential starts to Woodruff and Wilkerson in a playoff race rather than putting Burnes in the rotation where he would clearly be an upgrade. Unless, they make a trade for a starter. Crazy.
  8. What is our upcoming starting pitching looking like especially now that Suter is likely headed to the DL? Guerra? Davies? Peralta? When will they be back? Chacin tomorrow and then who?
  9. That won’t solve anything. Woodruff isn’t that good
  10. Nice job by Knebel, still would rather have him and Jeffress switch roles. Now let’s see if the Cubs lose to the Cards
  11. Don’t understand on Counsell’s insistence on Knebel being the closer. You can’t base your decision on last year’s performance, adapt or die
  12. Kudos to Burnes for getting out of that mess in his home debut, kid has stones
  13. Should’ve put in Burnes after Anderson walked the pitcher on 4 pitches lol counsell has no idea how to tell when to take someone out or leave them in
  14. Why is Anderson still in the game? He takes out guys with 85 pitches when they’re doing well and Anderson is clearly struggling with 100+ pitches and he leaves him in to face Machado? I don’t get it. Just put in Burnes
  15. Disagree on Woodruff, he has the ingredients to develop into a solid MLB mid-rotation starter, IMO. A broken bat “single” extended the inning, that is bad luck and bad range that got him tonight more than anything. We’ll see. He seems like he has it on lockdown a lot of the time and then just completely unravels
  16. If Woodruff wasn’t an AAAA pitcher that probably would’ve been the game winning hit
  17. Burnes was called up and hasn’t pitched since the Miami series I'm almost positive he pitched one of the doubleheader games. Looks like you were right, I’ve just tried to erase that series from my memory I guess
  18. If only we had a 2B with slightly more range than Perez, who also hits better, and has more speed on the base paths..... I don't get what Villar needs to do to play more than Perez... Play for a different team. Unfortunately Villar has had every opportunity to start for the last 3 years and continuously makes boneheaded plays that cost the team. Also he is not a better hitter than Perez sorry. Don’t understand why Hernan gets so much hate.
