  1. Maybe we need to do a non-traditional in game thread tomorrow. Or just stop sucking on the road. For real though, the Rockies are a pretty good team and playing in Coors isnt easy on any pitcher. Also we are .5 back of the Pirates, for all the people already doubting this team I would be willing to bet my left leg the Pirates will not be in first or second this year.
  2. So I have been looking to buy a used Jeep, and havent had the best luck. Craigslist isnt bad, but you never know what you will get.... and used car sites seem to be over priced. Any ideas? If it helps I live in Racine.... Thanks!
  3. Dempster always worries me when he plays us. Seems to have our number, but not today! I expect a good lineup today besides Nieves.
  4. The more I see these lineups, the more I wish for a new SS. He is terrible, and hitting 6th. Ugh.
  5. Sending the B team out there today...hopefully Narv is on his game. Just when I thought the defense couldnt get worse.....
  6. have a good feeling bout this one. Braun and Yo will have a great game. CrewCrazy, do you have the link to that Plush interview used for your avatar?
  7. Wasn't that Gomez who lost his bat?
  8. So basically we traded Jim Edmonds for Sergio Mitre. No me gusta. I hope he does well, and pitches like he did last year (without injuries). I would be pretty excited to see Boggs get the starts Hart will miss. He's looked pretty good this spring.
  9. Wow, he just keeps on changing positions. Wonder what position he will be playing in '12. Best of luck Lawrie 40 hands
  10. Brett Gardner is the second coming of Grady Sizemore. He's probably pretty untouchable. Guys a stud already.
  11. Thank god we don't make those decisions right? I would also love to Liriano on the Crew but I don't know. We already traded our top prospect for a pitcher 1 year removed from surgery, why make it two? Just seems risky, especially for just one year.
  12. Brooks Kieschnick Russell Branyan Rickie Weeks Grady Sizemore Victor Santos (Night games only) Chris Young James Loney
  13. Clint Barmes. Didn't he get hurt bringing groceries up the stairs his rookie year when he was having an amazing year? If I remember right he was out for a couple months at least. That said, players can slip and fall on ice and end their career, so I am not too worried about Braun going back to his college and having fun with the new guys.
  14. I like it. Edmonds will provide some much needed power off the bench. Although we have a ton of lefties on the bench, we dont have so many in the lineup. Wouldnt mind seeing him playing for Hart once or twice a week.
  15. Anyone want to take a chance with Pedro Martinez? He signed a 1 year deal last year for only 1 million, wouldnt be a bad backup.
  16. I like the idea. But what teams need pitching bad enough that they would trade away an overpaid player for Soup?
  17. Anyone know what Arizona was ranked in defense last year compared to the Crew? That would be interesting to see, I would check but I am on my busted phone.
  18. Not a bad contract for him, but he is coming off his best year and he's 31.
  19. Logan, this is a batting order thread. Obviously the problem was pitching. But the problem on offense was baserunning and stolen bases.
  20. If Sheets ends up on the Cubs then it is a certainty that I will change my username. That said, the guy has a ton of talent, but he is typically in horrible shape. Never knew a guy who would constantly get freak injuries, and blisters 24/7. I agree Yost beat him to the ground after he had back surgery but wow...
  21. Players hit more singles then doubles, you cant always rely on every player slugging .450+, what were the Brewers missing last year? A guy who can steal the bases, having Braun as our top base stealer last year is kind of sad actually, especially when hes hitting in front of Prince. When a guy is on first and a pitcher thinks he might be running, that puts the thought of something else into his head instead of just trying to get the next guy out. Also, we will be able to do more hit and runs. I know I will get bashed for this, and I probably deserve it, but I think it makes sense. Speed causes frustration and mistakes. Also, you guys are acting like Gomez will hit 0 doubles. He is probably good for 25+ doubles, and factor in a good amount of steals.
  22. Alright! First off I would like to say that I am happy Melvin made this move. Davis is a reliable starter, and most likely bumps Soup out of the rotation. Now, how can anyone say that we aren't a better team from this?? Gallardo, and Parra should improve with experience and age. Bush will hopefully be healthy, therefore, throwing more innings. I think the people here who are saying we will be the same team aren't remembering that we had some bad starts in 09 from the guys who were filling in at the end of the rotation. The depth alone should be 4+ wins, if Parra and Bushie can pull it together and have a slightly better year we may have 6+ more wins. With our bullpen being above average, and having more starters going deeper in games we have to be in the talks for playoff competitors. Welcome back Doug!
