  1. Why is Jeff Francis in the list of good pitchers? haha
  2. Well obviously it wouldn't be exact. But it is pretty close. I just think when you add a ton of speed, and a good stick ( not saying hes patient) it gives you the ability to make more things happen.
  3. If Cappy could make it back, wow. But honestly, I wont be holding my breath, 2 TJs later we cant expect too much. All the power to him, I hope he proves me wrong.
  4. ** Deal is somewhere between 5.5-6M** Link Pretty decent deal, good buy low after a injury plagued year (chest, knee). The Rangers have a very nice offense in a very hitter friendly ballpark.
  5. How can you deny that he can hit? Can you show me some proof of him not being a good hitter. He's not a world beater by any means, but he can hit. So therefore, Escobar fits both descriptions.
  6. If Mark A and DM could get it done, I would love to see this guy pitch for us. 5 years 30 million should get it done. Not a huge gamble, we have a lot of moolah coming off the books next year, although, we need to sign most of our arby players.
  7. If a guy steals 50 bases thats like hitting 50 doubles, you are in scoring position 50 more times, now put it on top that Escobar will hit plenty of doubles also. You need a leadoff guy to spark the offense. Weeks is wasted power at the top of the lineup (Weeks has to potential of hitting 25+ homers in a full season), put Weeks in the 2 hole and let him serve those fastballs into orbit. To be fair the Brewers dont have a perfect leadoff guy so why not go with the fast guy who can hit?
  8. 1. Escobar ( Good hitter, needs to walk more but it will come, doesn't K much, will steal 30+ bases) 2. Weeks ( Let him get more fastballs in the 2 hole ahead of the big guys, don't want to put too much pressure on a guy who just had another wrist surgery.) 3. Braun 4. Fielder 5. McGehee/Gamel 6. Zaun ( Decent hitter, decent power for a catcher as well, most likely will put up a .345+ OBP%) 7. Hart (Could be a huge difference maker if Hart puts up 2007 numbers, but that could be a pretty big if.) 8. Gomez ( Let the guy work on his bat skills and plate discipline, this guy could be a stud in a couple years.)
  9. Valid point. What about some of our relievers in AA and AAA? Braddock, Wooten, or Dillard?
  10. Now, before you kill me for bringing up adding another bat, let me just say I am just wondering if it would be possible to trade for him. He is owed 15.75 over the next 2 years so money isn't too much of a problem. Nick could also cover for Hart in RF, if Hart is dealt for pitching. Do the Yankees really have any positions they need to upgrade on significantly?
  11. Imagine DM extending Soup if he had a career year. Haha
  12. Keep in mind that Adrian has played in arguably the worst hitters ballpark, so expect his numbers to rise.
  13. True, how long is Buchholz under contract for?
  14. Do you think that Boston would do this now that they have Lackey and need to fill a 3rd base spot? I would love a rotation of: Gallardo Wolf Buchholz Parra Bush
  15. Same thing I said to my friends. Good for him, he's going to play for a great team with awesome history. Miss you Cam-Boogie!
  16. Theres no way they would ask for Gallardo. But if they did, I would love for Doug Melvin to laugh in their face. Why would we want to solve a problem (pitching) by taking a step back by trading our only ace-ish pitcher? The fact that they would then ask for another top prospect (Gamel, Salome, Lawrie) would be enough reason to hang up the phone. How about: Gamel, Parra, and Gindl? Now, I understand it could be a possible step back IF Parra has a breakout season next year. I myself haven't seen enough proof that Parra is due for something outstanding, but I do agree he has pretty good potential.
  17. Wow, didn't really think he was all that bad.
  18. Gamel, Salome, and Lawrie Get him, sign him.
  19. I dont know trwi7, Parra has potential, Salome is a catching prospect that has hit at every level, and Cain. That package probably wouldnt get 2 years of Johnson, but it would be close.
  20. So how many points will Jennings and Bogut combine to tonight when facing the 0-11 Nets. My guess:59 Bogut:24 Jennings:35
  21. Not bad. Not the biggest fan of Wilson. Average hitter, and no on base skills. But plays pretty good defense.
  22. Mulder isn't the answer, just a project. He might never pitch again in the majors. Jackson or Arroyo wouldn't be enough to push us to be a playoff team, as our offense would be slightly less productive this year. I am not saying they will be bad, just most likely not as productive as this year. Hopefully I'm wrong, but the falloff in power (Cameron/Hardy) will most likely prove to be a slight decrease in offensive production.
  23. I love Wallyball. I used to play at Racine Athletic every once and a while. It is a lot of fun for sure, and competitive.
  24. Looking for a pair of these for an Christmas gift... for myself. Has anyone owned a pair and have any input on them? Ive wanted a pair since I was 10 and it would be nice to get a pair. Looking for a cheap pair, hopefully under $100. Thanks!
  25. Give him a ST invite Doug! Who knows, maybe he could be valuable off the bench. Spivey was one of my favorites back in the day, and i would love to see him make a comeback... especially given his extreme love for the game.
