    Just terrible base running ! Can't have that when your offense is so challenged! I suppose our offense is in shut down mode now , they seem to do that after they have leads , must figure they did their job, no need to add on !

    Also , considering the limited budget . I would say that his failure could be that with the new rule changes that we seem to be still stuck with our whole approach at the plate. After watching Arizona , I really admired how they made things happen on offence , putting a lot of pressure on the opposing pitcher and defense ! I kinda thought that's what we would do , but it seems we just hack away no matter the situation .

    Doubt it works , but move some guys in the lineup ! Adames is the guy I'm thinking of moving down . Maybe try a little small ball , I understand that you need to get on to steal a base , more hit and runs , anything but what we are doing now , so boring !

    Frelick is the type of player the team needs , past the point of worrying about power , just give me a few players that can get on base and Frelick fits that mold . Very tired of HR or bust of this organization .

    We're not going anywhere adding just 1 hitter , we need multiple hitters . Don't want to give up that many assets for one guy ! . Gasser looking good as of late , might want to be patient with him .

    I don't care about not hitting HR's, if Frelick can get on base hitting 280 , I'll take it ! Just get me a few guys who can get on base !

    Actually its called canthititis , fairly common issue with most if the line up , his was severe enough to go on the 10day !

    Its not like he isn't making good contact , he is ! Just has had some bad luck ! For some reason I'm not a huge fan of his , but I think he deserves more time!

    Would love it , but would rather not rush it . Let him hit triple A first. Don't want to see his confidence ruined if it doesn't go well !

    Not saying Yelich is back , nice to see him playing at a higher level right now , if he keeps this up we'll be looking really good.

    Absolutely need a cap and a floor ! Don't understand how a fan of a small market team would not want this . There is nothing like watching the big market teams gobble up all the top end free agents while we pick up scraps ! Or lose our best players because we can't afford them (supposedly) ! Admittedly I don't know all the in's and outs of the financial end of baseball and whether small market owners can spend more or not , but at least with a floor they would have to spend more . at the same time with a cap , large market teams can't sign everybody, better players can trickle down . Would need stiff penalties for violators of cap and floor !

    Don't kill me on this , but why are these proposed trades of a pitcher for a OF when that seems to be strength ( young) . We have needed corner infielders for it seems like decades !

    Precisely, got so tired of the home run or strike out , power is nice but give me a guy who can work the pitcher and hit gap to gap who doesn't strike out half the time. Looking forward to some of the changes coming up . looks like the crew is changing there philosophy along with the changes. Love it !

    Yeah , thanks for the nice effort , I wasn't talking about the player I was talking about the kind of money to play a game ( all sports) is just ridiculous. I will say though baseball in particular and the guaranteed contracts is terrible , it really hurts the small market teams if they want to hold to a player and they regress (Yelich). Justify all you want but the money is ridiculous!

    This is just beyond ridiculous , could you imagine turning down 35 million a year to play baseball. just think , you can absolutely stink and will still get the money anyway. Disgusting !!!

    You might be right , but we won't know if this trade will work out for a year or two ! The fact is this trade basically gutted our play off chance this year ! Oh yeah , Hader is looking like the Hader the last two years not the Hader of those five weeks where he struggled. We did not get enough considering it was too a direct competitor !

    This part is what made it worse for me than anything ! Not only did you make us worse , but you helped the Padres get better , a direct competitor for a play off spot. Didn't sit well and still doesn't !

    As I'm looking at these trades and you guys know more about opposing teams players ( major and minor)than I do, but it seems that a lot of trades are with in our own division with direct competition for the play offs, unless we are saying that we are doing a total rebuild and not a play off team , why not get the best package from a AL team. We basically helped the Padres acquire Soto and Drury and to one of the play off spots.
