  1. Dale Sveum. I'm old like this picture
  2. I'll say 78 wins because someone has to and not because I believe they're a 78 win team. I think they're the best team in the division but stuff can happen
  3. Was I in a coma when Tyler Black was the "hottest prospect in the Brewers system" and "next big shoe"? Because in my waking life we had the Jackson Chourio build-up followed promptly by Jacob Misirowski and maybe a brief moment of Jeferson Quero. And now Jesus Made has probably taken the mantle as most hyped. Tyler Black was always a nice prospect with no clear defensive position.
  4. I'm literally wearing a Brewers t-shirt right now that reads "I Believe in...
  5. Gimme someone that can get a simple hit at a high rate once in awhile. Iglesias has done a pretty good job of that. Hitting his way to a .312 success rate since 2021 and a .293 success rate since 2019. Besides, you're not getting some .800+ OPS guy who can play every infield spot left of 1B for cheap at this stage anyway.
  6. Jose Iglesias still just sitting out there ready to perfectly (and cheaply) fit the one remaining glaring hole on the Brewers major league roster for one year
  7. It's not schtick, it's a fact. And if placed in the proper context the value in that fact is that improvement and growth can be expected from these players. It also means that it is perfectly acceptable for said younger players not to climb to the top of the mountain on their first 1-2 go-arounds. It's not like they're young just for the sake of being young either. They're young because they're timing their build with their new franchise QB. It's somewhat stunning that this has to be pointed out. This script has been written many times over. They're in the gaining experience, growing and improvement, identify their core phase. The reason for optimism and oddity of hot takes like yours is that they've set themselves up for multiple go's at it. Those who don't wind up being part of a championship core can be dispatched and replaced all while successful core pieces still hold long term value. THAT is why quality youth, which the Packers have an abundance of, matters.
  8. They're the youngest team in the league, stocked with draft picks and cap space, with a young QB locked up for years. I'm perfectly happy with the head coach, GM, and the team's trajectory. Didn't think 2024 was gonna be the magic year going in. Have no idea what planet the people raising doubts about MLF or Gute are living on. Perhaps their expectations were in the wrong place
  9. I read this forum once a day and this morning half the posts, spread across multiple places have been about Brett Baty. And all by the same poster. Bad ideas are bad
  10. I couldn't help but get excited about the fact that he basically said Made is better in just about every way than Chourio was at the same age. That's fun to think about
  11. I'm just trying to figure out why the accompanying photo is of Frelick
  12. The discount it would take to make sense to me surely is far too big of a discount to picture Adames ever accepting
  13. I've assumed Woodruff would be brought along slowly, perhaps pitching out of the pen until August at the earliest given he didn't pitch a single inning in 2024. I'd much rather have him covering more innings (starting) at the end than in the beginning. Anyone else thinking the same?
  14. Lol, silly me. KC up 3-0 three batters into the game
  15. That's highly unlikely though. The Braves have something to play for while their opponent KC would send themselves to Baltimore with a win while a loss assures them they'll play Houston. Seems like a clear incentive for KC to lose to Atlanta today
  16. Any role that the Padres play in all this? Would it be advantageous for them to completely throw the game today against Arizona to ensure that doubleheader has to be played tomorrow? Afterall, they want a team forced to play on Monday and then fly cross country Monday tonight too
  17. The line in Vegas has either stayed the same (+2.5) or widened (+3) since it was posted at the start of the week. That's the clue that he's not playing this week
  18. You mean like the way Corbin Burnes scuffled out of the pen in September and October in 2018?
  19. Switching hotels after this final regular season series would be smart. Do you think they'll do it?
  20. I really like the idea of Mets players being in the same hotel room for nearly a full week at the start of a playoff series against the Brewers. I get cabin fever in the nicest hotel rooms in Vegas after 3-4 days. I can't imagine being in the same Milwaukee hotel room for a week plus. Gimme the Mets in round 1.
  21. He's gonna be a Dodger. It's the easiest call in the history of free agency
