  1. I don't know how active the Dodgers will be for Woodruff. Besides the big 4 they threw against the Crew, the have Gonsolin, Grove, Ryan, and Stone coming off injury sometime in early 2026.
  2. Top end talent goes where the money is. Big markets get them because they have the ability for huge payrolls. Milwaukee would be ideal for a lot of players, but the money is elsewhere.
  3. Big pass on Cruz. He hit a whopping .200 and whiffed 33% of the time. Plus he's a terrible defender. He would be the opposite of what they need.
  4. Where it once looked extremely doubtful, I think after the embarrassing fiasco that just happened, the Brewers might look at trading Peralta (especially if they re-sign Woody with a "show me" type contract) for MLB ready help. With Woody, they have enough good young arms and can add a low level FA to have a pretty good starting staff. They need an outfielder badly. Collins and Perkins are no better than 4th or 5th outfielders and they can't depend on an often injured Mitchell for anything. SS is a prime need given Ortiz's well documented problems with the bat. I don't see MA willing to open the purse strings to pay out big numbers for a FA, so trades are the only option. No matter what, Milwaukee can't stand pat!
  5. *** was McGill doing? Throws one center cut, thigh high on an 1-2 pitch.
  6. That's why Collins isn't playing. 8 ABs and 6 whiffs. Turang looks like he's just mailing it in. He too has sucked horribly this series.
  7. Mr. rollover does it again. Has it been 6 games since Yelich actually hit a ball in the air? Contreras continues to suck with a whiff and Bauers does it too. Well at least it won't be a hitless game.
  8. Can anyone remember when Yelich actually got a ball to the outfield?
  9. Murphy signaled surrender with Myers in the game. Down 4-1 with an offense that has been almost noexistent, he figured why not. Next will be Gasser. Game over..... Maybe the Brewers can get something going in LA.
  10. Can anyone remember the last time Yelich didn't whiff or rollover on one and actually hit a ball passed the infield?
  11. All the runner had to do was tag and go. Once the ball hits Frelick's glove he was ok to go no matter what happened. Just horrible base running, thank goodness.
  12. Mr. rollover or whiff, (Yelich) looks like a little leaguer against a college pitcher. The Crew needs a much better effort from him if they are going to have a chance in this series.
  13. I like your idea about re-signing Woodruff and keeping Peralta. Woodruff could be fairly cheap on a "show me" contract and hopefully Peralta is even better in his walk year. With Patrick, Henderson, Priester, and Miz (still not convinced on Gasser) they have enough to have a pretty decent starting staff. I can't see Kim going anywhere. He has a $16M player option with Atlanta and no team in baseball is going to come even remotely close to that for his services. He stays with the Braves and hopes to play better in his walk year. I don't think Kwan does anything for the Brewers. He's a LF and not close to an impact bat they need. In 625 ABs he had 11 HRs and drove in 56. Collins in 372 ABs, had 9 HRs and 54 RBIs with a better OPS and OPS+...
  14. I think Murphy was right there. Ortiz is one of the worst hitters in MLB and Murphy had his RBI leader up next. Unfortunately Yelich choked and Churio failed too. He can now pinch hit for Ortiz later.
  15. Yelich's choke might be the biggest of the season so far. He's become Mr. rollover for the last month or so and all that was needed was another one and at least it was a run. Instead a whiff.
  16. It's tough to defend how Murphy screwed around with the lineup that knocked Boyd around in game one. He's got it in his head that Yelich is a leadoff hitter and no matter what the result, he's going to go with it.
  17. Who starts game 4 (if needed) for the Crew? Quintanna is coming in soon so it looks like game 4 will be another bullpen adventure.
  18. I don't see how Anderson makes it over Myers. Gasser was kind of a shock over DL Hall. Hoskins I'm sure is insulted and has every right to be.
  19. I think Kim is a moot point. After the year he had there is zero chance he turns down the $16M player option he has. No way any team is going to offer him anything close to that in the open market. Then if he has a decent year, he hits FA with more to offer.
  20. More than a bit frustrating. Churio is 6 for his last 49 with 2 RBIs. Lots of Ks.
  21. No way Miz should be on the playoff roster. Let him come back next year, hopefully with his head on square and a lot more mature. I just don't know what Collins is doing lately. I don't think Murphy lets him start again this season. Joey O misses a dinger by inches.
  22. Pathetic effort. Murphy had better find a way to right the ship in a hurry or they'll be out of the picture early once again.
  23. My biggest concern is the offense. Churio in particular. He's 1 for his last 18 ABs with 8 Ks and 6 for his last 45 ABs with 2 RBIs. Yelich 3 for last 18 and two of those hits were inf. singles. Ortiz goes without saying. Monistario is 4 for 20 with three hits coming in one game. One RBI. Collins is 6 for last 41 ABs with no RBIs. Team is 13 and 12 in the last 25 games. Bullpen is always a concern if they don't get McGill back and throwing well. Batting order: Frelick RF Turang 2B Contreras C Yelich DH Churio CF Vaughn 1B Bauers LF Durbin 3B Ortiz SS
  24. Good analogy. He does remind you of Weeks flailing away at that low outside breaking ball. Churio needs some serious bench time right now. One for his last 26. 7th whiff in his last 4 games. Perkins isn't much, but slightly better right now.
  25. I think the system will be fully automated in 3 years. No more catchers "stealing" strikes, no more hitters and managers getting upset with horrible calls by umps. Hitters and pitchers no longer have to adjust to the ump's zone that often changes as the game goes on. If the system goes down the solution is simple and almost instant. The ump is still behind the plate looking at foul tips, swings, etc.... If the system fails, he calls balls and strikes like they used to until the system is up and running again. The challange system is still in place.
