One thing that has kind of gone unnoticed is the play of Maile. Pretty solid behind the plate and seems to contribute something consistently. Maybe they give Manny a job in the organization and Maile becomes the backup in the offseason.
-
Man that was fun.
-
Hopefully he didn't stroke out. That got my heart going.
-
And replay to say he didnt.
-
I had turned off the stream and was just following on Gameday and decided to turn it back on when bases loaded. Best decision of the day.
-
Heck yeah!!!
-
A walk off Granny would be fun.
-
Can't hit it much harder. Would have likely scored three if it got by Goldschmidt. Tough way to end that inning. Yeah that definitely scores 3 with Cain on first. Tellez's at bat before that was the real killer. If they score to make it 5-2 is Goldschmidt playing that deep with 1 out? Maybe but they could be playing closer for the double play +1...that was the definition of throwing away an at bat.
-
Cmon Rowdy.....that was terrible.
-
Tough series for Jace. 1 for 10.
-
On the plus side JBJ didnt strike out today....so far.
-
Rare rough day at the office for the staff. 9 hits and 7 walks.
-
Rowdy has been fine I think. He's still relatively young, cheap and has some upside. His solid defense at 1B has been a pleasant surprise. He's not Anthony Rizzo. Those guys are not easy to find. I'd say replacing Garcia in right will be the bigger issue. It really comes down to finding production somewhere. You likely need RBIs from either of the corner outfield spots or 1B.

When Thames was here the guy would be waiting at the plate for a urine sample after a blast like that.
-
Would not be shocked to see St Louis in the wild card game.
-
Wonder how far that went on the bounce?
-
6 walks and an error. Tough to overcome.
-
Besides McFarland do they have another lefty in the pen?
-
Doing us a favor by pulling Lester.
-
I get feeling pessimistic, but the sheer certainty in your "sky is falling" posts is actually kinda funny. Attempt at a reverse jinx. The cosmos seems to enjoy proving me wrong.
-
Goldschmidt slam coming.
-
Strickland is about to put this one out of reach.
-
You cant walk Lester.....you just cant.

Not going to be the crews day today.
