  1. Ugh x 2. Eric Lauer’s not doing our Sounds any favors, giving up a single, double and homer on his first 8 pitches. 3-0 Jacksonville before any outs have been recorded.
  2. AA Biloxi has a secret weapon in its quest to salvage a 3-3 series tie in Mississippi: LHP Wade Miley makes his first rehab start! 22-year old RF Carlos D. Rodriguez collected 2 hits yesterday to lift his team-high batting average to .278.
  3. LHP Eric Lauer makes his 2nd rehab start for AAA Nashville, which is trying to clinch a 4-2 series win in Jacksonville. 25-year old C Payton Henry has two 4-hit games in his last 5 games played, lifting his OPS to .823.
  4. Ugh. Carolina’s misery continues, as Will Rudy uncharacteristically gives up 4 runs in the top of the 1st inning on a walk, single, double and homer. They trail 4-0 in the 3rd inning and desperately need a spark from somewhere, despite missing Daniel Guilarte, Luis Lara, Tayden Hall, Luis Castillo…
  5. Olympic speed skating silver medalist Eddy Alvarez smacked his second homer of the game, this one a 2-run shot to push the lead to 6-3 in extra innings in Jacksonville. Thyago Vieira grabs the win with a 2-inning stint. That’s a good start to today’s slate of games.
  6. High-A Wisconsin leads their series in West Michigan 4-1 and has RHP Edwin Jimenez (2.09 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 10.1 K/9 in 47.1 IP) ready for his 5th start (12th appearance). 20-year old Eduardo Garcia continues to man the shortstop position as the team awaits Eric Brown Jr.’s return.
  7. The Low-A Mudcats haven’t won since RHP Will Rudy’s (1.53 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 9.2 K/9 in 29.1 IP) last start on Tuesday, but he’s back on the mound today to end their skid. DH Quinton Low gets his 4th appearance of the season as a position player.
  8. Back and forth they go in Jacksonville. Matt Bush retired 3 players on ground outs. Cam Devanney doubled in a run to take a 2-1 lead. RHP JB Bukauskus came in for his 2nd relief start, giving up a 2-run shot. Then Eddy Alvarezresponded with a solo shot. 3-3, bottom of the 6th inning now.
  9. The Sounds and Jumbo Shrimp picked up where they left off yesterday: tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th inning of a scheduled 7-inning game. RHP Matt Bush came in for his second rehab appearance.
  10. Two rough days have put our full season affiliates at an aggregate of -5 (110 wins, 115 losses), but the good news is that there are 5 games today! Win ‘em all to end the weekend right.
  11. Two rough days have put our full season affiliates at an aggregate of -5 (110 wins, 115 losses), but the good news is that there are 5 games today! Win ‘em all to end the weekend right.
  12. Well, we’ve got the Mudcats getting annihilated 7-1 (Vallecillo did okay; Yujanyer did not), rain delays for Nashville (1-1 in 4th inning of first game of DH) and Biloxi (not commenced), and Wisconsin getting under way now.
  13. RHP Justin Jarvis (2.54 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 10.5 K/9 in 56.2 IP) gets the start in Mississippi tonight as AA Biloxi aims to grab a 3-2 series edge. 20-year old C Jeferson Quero continues to impress on offense (.826 OPS) and defense (32% CS rate).
  14. Rain-permitting, Nashville plays a doubleheader in Jacksonville today, with SS Brice Turang making his first AAA appearance since the 2022 AAA playoffs and RHP Janson Junk (4.27 ERA in 52.2 IP) starting the first game. Turang is more than 2 years younger than any other player in the lineup.
  15. High-A Wisconsin leads their series 3-1 at West Michigan and hands the ball to RHP Tyler Woessner (2.50 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 8,2 K/9 in 50.1 IP) tonight. LF Terence Doston is 8-for-19 in his last 6 games.
  16. Low-A Carolina welcomes RHP Alexander Vallecillo (1.50 ERA with 25 Ks in 18 IP) back from injury as they need to snap a 4-game losing streak at home against Fayetteville. 3B Luke Adams is 3rd in walks, 6th in RBIs and 8th in homers in the Carolina League.
  17. - RHP Tanner Shears promoted to High-A Wisconsin from Low-A Carolina - RHP Alexander Vallecillo activated from Low-A Carolina’s 7-day injured list - C Brent Diaz transferred to Development List from AAA Nashville
  18. SS Brice Turang returns to Nashville for his first game at this level since the 2022 AAA playoffs. The team is tied 2-2 in this week’s series in Jacksonville, with RHP Janson Junk (4.27 ERA in 52.2 IP) getting tonight’s start against rehabbing Major Leaguer Trevor Rogers.
  19. Low-A Carolina needs to snap a 3-game skid at home against Fayetteville, so turns to solid RHP Patricio Aquino (2.39 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 9.2 K/9 in 26.1 IP) tonight. DH/1B Jesus Parra has a 6-game hitting streak.
  20. The AA Shuckers will try to win a 3rd straight game in Mississippi. The team has the youngest average position player age (22.5) in the league, but is first in walks and stolen bases, and 2nd-best in not striking out. RHP TJ Shook (3.71 ERA in 26.2 IP) makes his 2nd start (10th appearance).
  21. Good 'ol Ivy League thinking on Cousins' part. Let's see if he can milk it as long as Nick Franklin did with his hamstring on an attempted 1-day call-up a few years ago.
  22. The Timber Rattlers can take a 4th straight contest in West Michigan with a victory tonight, sending 21-year old RHP Stiven Cruz to the mound. Cruz is coming off of two decent outings (combined 10 IP, 4 R, 7 Ks). C Matt Wood has a 6-game hitting streak, lifting his High-A average to .296.
  23. RHP Tyson Miller recalled to MLB Brewers from AAA Nashville (replacing injured LHP Bennett Sousa) RHP Jake Cousins placed on MLB Brewers' 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 4 - this probably negates his earlier announced option to AAA Nashville, so perhaps he earns more money (pro-rata MLB salary) and it saves one of his MLB-MILB options for this year
  24. OF Sal Frelick sent on rehab assignment to ACL Brewers RHP Jason Alexander sent on rehab assignment to ACL Brewers
