  1. Wisconsin can’t cash in the Manfred Man, but Peoria did. Rattlers lose 6-5.
  2. Vieira retired the first two hitters, then yielded two soft singles before giving up a first pitch, walk-off 3-run blast to Adam Haseley. Pain. Tears. Sounds lose 10-8.
  3. Adames flied out. Rattlers head to the 10th inning in Appleton. in Charlotte, Brian Navarreto walked and Michael Reed doubled him home to re-take the lead in the 8th inning. Nashville clings to an 8-7 lead now in the 9th inning; with Thyago Vieira on to try to close it out.
  4. Eduardo Garcia tied it up 5-5 in Appleton with an RBI double in the bottom of the 8th inning, before struggling Ernesto Martinez ground into a double play with runners on 1st and 3rd. Taylor Floyd held firm in the top half of the 9th inning. Now Jose Acosta, Robert Moore and Willy Adames get a chance to walk it off.
  5. Gulp. SIX seventh inning walks have gifted Charlotte 3 runs. Pedro Fernandez (2) stayed in two long, JC Mejia (3) simply didn’t have it today, then Tyson Miller (1) likely got jobbed on the 8th pitch of his first batter. 7-7 after 7 innings.
  6. Did anyone need another reason to hate the Cardinals? Well, their High-A club just intentionally walked Willy Adames to protect a 5-4 seventh inning lead. Adames will get his revenge against the MLB club.
  7. Evidently a chippy series in Charlotte as Skye Bolt gets ejected after a 5th inning strikeout (low ball called for 2nd strike), the 3rd Sound ejected this week. The good news is we’re leading 7-4 through 6 innings thanks to Patrick Dorrian (2-run shot), Luis Urias (2 hits, 3 RBIs) and Pedro Fernandez (5 IP, 2 R).
  8. Low-A Carolina has a 7-game winning streak and looks to finish off a road sweep of Lynchburg. 19-year old Yujanyer Herrera (3.60 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 6.9 K/9 in 30 IP) earned a save on Tuesday and gets the start today. DH Jhonnys Cabrera features for the first time in 3 weeks.
  9. High-A Wisconsin welcomes Willy Adames for a rehab start as they seek to finish off a 5-1 series win over Peoria at home. RHP Alexander Cornielle (6.25 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 in 36 IP) makes his 9th start in a tough year thus far.
  10. AAA Nashville gets us started in Charlotte today, looking to clinch a 4-2 series win. LHP Ethan Small (3.15 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 13.5 K/9 in 20 IP) starts as an opener and rehabbing Luis Urias is back at 3rd base.

  12. Sadly, James Meeker just had his worst outing ever: 6 earned runs in 2 innings of work, including 3 homers. 8-1 Pensacola leads in the 5th inning.
  13. C Alex Jackson is now 22-for-92 this season (.239 AVG), with 8 HRs. He has 2 HRs today, as the Sounds and Knights are tied 2-2 in the 5th inning.
  14. Quinton Low reached on an error his first time up, now singles an 0-2 pitch to the opposite field for his first Low-A hit.
  15. The Shuckers copy the Mudcats’ playbook and grab a 1st inning lead as well, Zavier Warren signaling in Jackson Chourio (reached on error). 1-0 Biloxi after one inning.
  16. Good enough. Thank you Blake. Thank you Devin.
  17. 2B Jadher Areinamo goes the opposite way with 2 outs and a full count in the 2nd inning. 2-run single makes it 3-0 Mudcats.
  18. Well done with the monthly minor league awards. We’ll see if today’s Megill-Cousins bullpen adventure forces the Brewers to select Vieira’s contract. Relievers can be rather unpredictable though…
  19. Our first minor league game of the day is underway, with RF Jace Avina singling in CF Luis Lara (walk, SB) for a 1-0 Carolina 1st inning lead.
  20. A late collapse yesterday dropped AAA Nashville to a 2-2 tie in their series at Charlotte. RHP Janson Junk (4.27 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 6.2 K/9 in 46.1 IP) takes the hill tonight. SS Cam Devanney has a 7-game hitting streak.
  21. The Mudcats seek a 7th straight victory and 5th in Lynchburg. RHP Patricio Aquino (2.31 ERA in 23.1 IP) returns from injury for his first action in 24 days. DH Quinton Low makes his 3rd position player start in Low-A, seeking his first hit (0-for-9).
  22. AA Biloxi is tied 2-2 in their home series against Pensacola and has LHP Nick Bennett (4.15 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, 10.4 K/9 in 26 IP) making his 2nd start (12th appearance) tonight. LF Isaac Collins has an 8-game on-base streak, while Tyler Black is absent from the lineup for the 2nd straight day.
