    AAA Nashville needs a victory at home over Iowa to salvage a 3-3 series tie this week. RHP Janson Junk seeks revenge for taking a loss in Tuesday's opener (5.1 IP, 2 ER, 4 Ks). Left-handed hitting 2B Patrick Dorrian has a 1.001 OPS against righties (7 HRs in 79 PAs) and a 1.103 OPS in May (61 PAs), overcoming a tough April (.477 OPS in 41 PAs).

    A win for High-A Wisconsin in Cedar Rapids today would give them a 4-2 series victory. RHP Tyler Woessner (2.61 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 8.1 K/9 in 41.1 IP) aims for his 2nd victory this week. 1B/C Alex Hall somewhat shockingly leads the team in OPS (.736).

    Second time through the lineup, Urias and Voit each K. Again. Singleton homers. Probably could have used him in the MLB lineup earlier today.

    After T-Rats fail to cash in on a 2-on, 1-out opportunity in the top of the 1st inning, the Kernels get 2 runs on 3 hits off Stiven Cruz in the bottom half. Rattlers trail 2-0 after 1 inning.

    Urias (now 0-for-10 with no walks) and Voit (on 3 pitches) each K against Cubs 23-year old, #6 prospect (MLB.com) Ben Brown, stranding Blake Perkins who’d led off with a double. Singleton only managed a ground out. 0-0 after 1 inning.

    Bad start for CF-Rod (single, homer), but he’s retired the next 6 batters in a row, 4 via strikeout. The offense has immediately picked him up though, with 6 runs on 8 hits through 2 innings, starting with this Noah Campbell RBI double.

    Should have happened a month ago in a swap for Hiura. Or last night for Singleton. No reason fans should have to face this day-in, day-out. Frustrating, just like last year with then-toothless Cutch & Hiura manning DH spot in September. But I assume nothing will change on this front, unfortunately. Can’t allow my expectations to rise, only to be disappointed.

    AA Biloxi is tied 2-2 in its home series against Montgomery and has RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez (2.87 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 12.2 K/9 in 37.2 IP) starting tonight. 2B Ethan Murray and LF Isaac Collins return for their first action in 10 days and 20 days, respectively.

    The AAA Sounds aim to take a 3-2 series lead at home against Iowa. RHP Caleb Boushley has been solid over his last 6 starts (2.45 ERA in last 29.1 IP). 2B Luis Urias is back in the lineup for his 3rd rehab start.

Option Monasterio DFA Voit, he clears waivers and stays in AAA to earn elevated minor league salary agreed in his split contract Activate Adames (God please grant him a full recovery). Odds are some other position player goes to injured list. Otherwise, option Brosseau, Turang or Wiemer. Most likely Turang to get his 2-week manipulation in Likely have to recall Janson Junk for a start in 8 days or so. Cousins or Megill gets optioned

    High-A Wisconsin gets a second chance to win a 4th game in Cedar Rapids this week, with RHP Stiven Cruz (6.67 ERA in 29.2 IP) getting the start. C Darrien Miller has a 13-game on-base streak, hitting safely in 12 of the games.

    AAA Nashville is also down 2-1 in their home series against Iowa, but has effective LHP Thomas Pannone (2.66 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 7.6 K/9 in 23.2 IP) on the hill tonight. CF Blake Perkins has reached safely in 16 of 17 games since his MLB stint.

    Talented 21-year old RHP Logan Henderson makes his 3rd start (just 4.1 IP thus far in 2023) for Low-A Carolina tonight at home against Down East, as the clubs battle for first place in the division. 20-year old C Blayberg Diaz has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games.

    High-A Wisconsin seeks a 4th consecutive win in Cedar Rapids. Struggling RHP Cameron Wagoner (9.53 ERA in 28.1 IP) gets tonight’s start. SS Eric Brown Jr. has 9 hits and 6 RBIs over his last 3 games.

    You'd think that a guy from the Utica-Rome Metropolitan Statistical Area would have a better feel for how non-urban populations may react to a "threat from above". It's the sort of attempted pressure which simply does more harm than good. Does he actually want stadium improvements to be made? If yes, then it's too bad that he's likely set that effort back by bringing "outsiders" in to the discussion. patrickgpe said it: "It would help if we saw detailed list of what needs to be done." That's what the uncertain, undecided public was expecting after the news earlier this year on potential stadium improvements. Photos of rusted/broken things in need of repair. Drawings on planned improvements. Discussion on how competitive bids would be obtained to attempt to keep the cost down. Timelines for implementation. Instead, he's changed the entire complexion of the situation, likely causing some relatively open-minded citizens to instinctively dig in against "the Man".

    Not seen any official word or interview. Guilarte was hit by a pitch in the top of the 9th inning on Sunday, played in the field for the bottom half of that inning, but we've not seen him since.

    AA Biloxi is tied 1-1 in this week’s series at home against Montgomery and the two squads are both 5 games behind first place Pensacola. RHP Tobias Myers (4.58 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 12.6 K/9 in 39.1 IP) gets the start this evening. 3B Tyler Black continues to lead the Southern League in OBP (.435) and stolen bases (23).

    The Mudcats trail first place Down East by 1.5 games, but have RHP Jacob Misiorowski (4.08 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 16.3 K/9 in 17.2 IP) on the hill to start tonight. 20-year old 2B Alexander Perez (..719 OPS in ACL last year) gets his first start in Low-A ball.

    The AAA Sounds can take a 2-1 series lead with a win tonight, handing the ball to LHP Robert Gasser (4.74 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 11.1 K/9 in 38 IP) to lead the way. DH/1B Jon Singleton had three hits yesterday to boost his May OPS to .952.
