  1. Pretty solid start for Carolina, as they grab 3 runs in the 1st inning, highlighted by a Made double, Pena RBI single and Anderson RBI single.
  2. RHP Logan Henderson (2.71 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 10.9 K/9 in 89.2 AAA/MLB IP) starts for the AAA Sounds at home as they try to complete a sweep of Indianapolis. 1B Ernesto Martinez Jr. sees his first action since July 12 and RF Jimmy Herron makes his first start since June 15.
  3. That’s Wisconsin’s 3rd one-run loss in 4 games. Missing that special ingredient.
  4. Rays’ #6 prospect Brody Hopkins fails to get out of the 1st inning against Biloxi, who notch 5 runs on 6 hits to set a tone in tonight’s rubber match at Montgomery. RF Garrett Spain smacked a 2-out, first-pitch, 3-run homer for the major damage. Could have even been more, since Lara was picked off.
  5. Nice comeback on the road from Wisconsin, from down 4-0 with only 1 hit thru 5 innings, to tied 4-4 in the 8th inning. Hedbert with a 2-run shot, Eduardo manufacturing a run (BB, SB, Nava RBI single), then Luiyin with a 2-out RBI single.
  6. Low-A Carolina aim to polish off their 3-game road sweep of Delmarva. LF Pedro Ibarguen (.872 OPS in 113 ACL/Low-A PAs) is in the lineup for only the second time since July 4. RHP Bryce Meccage is on a decent 3-game run (13.1 IP, 4 R, 14 Ks).
  7. Last year, the main promotions took place in the period 5-15 days after the ACL season ended. If this year follows a similar plan, we’ll see promotions starting from July 28, in advance of the games on July 29.
  8. AA Biloxi’s series-deciding game at Montgomery is in the hands of LHP Nate Peterson (3.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 7.9 K/9 in 50.1 IP), making his first start since May 29. It’s time for SS Cooper Pratt to snap his 0-for-17 skid.
  9. The High-A Timber Rattlers can clinch a 2-1 series win at Cedar Rapids this afternoon behind RHP Tanner Gillis (1.40 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 7.2 K/9 in 51.1 IP). 3B Jadher Areinamo is 6-for-10 with 2 homers over the past 2 games.
  10. High-A Wisconsin welcomes newly-acquired C Andrick Nava (.499 OPS in 79 PAs this year) to the organization. 19-year old RHP Manuel Rodriguez (2.27 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 8.1 K/9 in 35.2 IP) gets the start at Cedar Rapids, with the T-Rats needing a win to even this weekend’s series.
  11. The Low-A Mudcats can capture their weekend series at Delmarva with a victory in support of 20-year old LHP Wande Torres (5.82 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, 9.7 K/9 in 51 IP). 2B Luis Pena has a 5-game hitting streak.
  12. RHP Chad Patrick makes his 2nd AAA start of 2025 (6 IP, 2 R, 7 Ks eight days ago) as AAA Nashville looks to claim a home series win over Indianapolis. RF Daz Cameron (unclaimed by 29 GMs) is 9-for-16 with 4 homers over his last 4 games.
  13. The AA Shuckers can capture this weekend’s short series at Montgomery with a win tonight behind LHP Tate Kuehner (2.61 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 10.0 K/9 in 82.2 IP). C Matt Wood has a .908 OPS over his last 97 PAs.
  14. One inning for Gasser in his 2025 rehab debut in Arizona (first game since June 1, 2024): fly out, ground out, infield single, picked off. 9 pitches, 7 strikes.
  15. - LHP Robert Gasser sent on rehab assignment to ACL Brewers
  16. As we entered the offseason, I wanted Suarez as a RHH bat to replace Adames’ offense, but I didn’t realize that we only had $4m to spend. At this point, I’d still target a solid position player. Maybe McMahon can turns things around by being in a winning environment a la Andrew Vaughn. That could also protect our offense a bit in the extraordinarily unlikely event that Yelich or Frelick are out during the home stretch. I also figure we need a reliever after relying so much on Mears, Uribe, Koenig and Megill. It’s just that every deadline reliever trade post-Pomeranz seems to blow up on us.
  17. LHP Nestor Cortes makes his 3rd rehab start (4 scoreless innings on 54 pitches 8 days ago), this time for AAA Nashville as they host Pirates’ affiliate Indianapolis. LF Daz Cameron is 7-for-12 with 2 homers and 7 RBIs over his last 3 games.
  18. Look out Carolina League, DH Josh Adamczewski (.990 OPS in 111 PAs before an injury) is back for his first Low-A game since May 2! RHP Travis Smith (3.84 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 6.6 K/9 in 61 IP) gets tonight’s start at Orioles’ affiliate Delmarva.
  19. After sitting out 6 games and DH’ing in 2 more, SS Cooper Pratt (.705 OPS vs. league-average .661, with 20 SBs) returns to the field for AA Biloxi, who’ve unfortunately dropped 7 consecutive games. RHP Brett Wichrowski is riding a solid 3-game run (18 IP, 3 ER, 10 Ks) and starts at Rays’ affiliate Montgomery tonight.
  20. The High-A Timber Rattlers have lost 16 of their last 22 games and now play a 3-game set at Twins’ affiliate Cedar Rapids. RHP Ryan Birchard struck out 7 batters in his last start (4.1 IP, 3 R (1 ER), 1 H, 5 BB). C Blayberg Diaz has a 6-game hitting streak.
  21. - INF Josh Adamczewski activated from Low-A Carolina’s 7-day injured list
  22. Tyler Renz, rehabbing Carlos Rodriguez, Jorge Quintana and Roderick Flores led ACL Brewers to a tight Thursday win. Both Dominican squads struggled offensively in defeat, but Carlos Done homered. Transactions: C Andrick Nava acquired from Phillies for cash and assigned to High-A Wisconsin RHP Wenderlyn King placed on ACL Brewers’ 7-day injured list RHP Aidan Maldonado transferred to High-A Wisconsin’s 60-day injured list RHP Jake Polancic transferred to High-A Wisconsin’s full season injured list Game Action: Final: ACL Brewers 4, ACL Mariners 3 Box Score and Game Log Rehabbing RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez (4 IP, 1 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 3 Ks) and 18-year old RHP Tyler Renz (4 1/3 IP, 2 R, 5 H, 3 BB, 1 WP, 7 Ks) stifled the ACL Mariners for 8 innings before Renz tired in the 9th and the Zona Crew held on. OF Roderick Flores (2-for-3, double, walk) and SS Jorge Quintana (3-for-5, double, RBI) keyed the offense, both delivering 2nd inning hits as the Brewers grabbed a 2-0 lead. Quintana and rehabbing OF Luis Castillo (2-for-4) both singled and scored in the 5th inning to push the advantage to 4-1. That’s how things stood until the bottom of the 9th inning, when Renz allowed a walk, 2 singles and a line out, equaling his season high of 22 batters faced and giving way to RHP Carlos Espinal. After a run-scoring balk, Espinal closed out the win with a strikeout and line out. Also of note, OF Handelfry Encarnacion (0-for-his-last-12 but with just 2 Ks in that span) exited early after popping out in the top of the 6th inning, so we’ll need to monitor his availability. Our Arizona Squad (28-27) are back at it Friday night as they host the ACL Diamondbacks (29-26) at 8:00pm CST. Final: DSL Tampa Bay 6, DSL Brewers Blue 3 Box Score and Game Log Strong pitching from 17-year old RHP Carlos Galindo (4 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 3 Ks) was nearly rewarded, as 2B Leonard Rijo delivered an RBI single with 2-on, 1-out in the 6th inning to cut an early deficit to 2-1. C Yoneiker Lugo followed with a single of his own. Unfortunately, Tampa gunned down the lead baserunner at home on the play, one of three Brewers thrown out on the bases in the pivotal 6th and 7th innings. Five consecutive hits scored 4 unearned runs off of RHP Diustin Mayorquin (3 IP, 4 R (0 ER), 5 H, 0 BB, 1 WP, 3 Ks) in the bottom of the 7th inning to extend Tampa’s advantage to 6-1. OF Carlos Done’s 2-run blast in the 9th inning helped the final score line. Batting leadoff, Done went 1-for-4 with a walk and 2 RBIs. SS Moises Polanco went 2-for-5 and sports a season AVG of .306 and OPS of .938. The Blue Men (18-14) get another chance tomorrow, hosting DSL Padres Gold (22-11) at 10:00am CST. Final: DSL Pirates Gold 3, DSL Brewers Gold 1 Box Score and Game Log Four baserunners in the first 2 innings didn’t produce any runs for Brewers Gold, but starting 18-year old RHP Jose Arias (5 IP, 2 R, 4 H, 4 BB, 1 HBP, 4 Ks) had a respectable outing to give the team a chance. The team trailed 3-0 by the 6th inning, but C Roniel Paulino (2-for-4) doubled with 1 out in the bottom of the 7th inning to initiate a potential comeback. A walk and OF Nicolas Barrios (1-for-3) single loaded the bases, but only a sacrifice fly came from it to narrow the gap to 3-1. Three straight walks to open the bottom of the 8th inning should have done some damage, but two players caught stealing wrecked that opportunity. Paulino’s inning-opening single in the 9th was followed by three strikeouts. Team Gold only managed 4 hits in the contest and went 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position. The relieving trio of RHPs Enrique Velasquez, Albert Vargas and Wandy Cabrera combined to only concede 1 run and strike out 4 batters over 4 innings, but each has a season ERA above 11.00. The Gold Squad (15-18) also get another chance for a win on Friday, playing at DSL Cubs Blue (15-17) at 10:00am CST. We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Friday, the full season affiliates and Milwaukee Brewers return to action. Carolina plays at Delmarva at 6:05pm. Nashville (hosting Indianapolis), Wisconsin (RHP Ryan Bichard starting at Cedar Rapids) and Biloxi (at Montgomery) all commence at 6:35pm CST. The Brewers have a late game at the Dodgers at 9:10pm CST.
