  1. For the week, Biloxi (5-1), Nashville (4-1), and Wisconsin (4-2) were all series wins, while Carolina managed to claw back for a draw (3-3). Transactions: N/A Game Action: Rained Out: Nashville vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre A rainout after 1 ½ innings means the stats get wiped off the record, including Ernesto Martinez Jr.’s RBI double and 2 innings from spot starter RHP Easton McGee (2 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 3 Ks in 38 pitches). Nashville had led 2-1 by that point, but the early ending likely had greater benefits in terms of protecting a pitching staff which was in the midst of a second consecutive bullpen game. Next week’s outlook: The Sounds (31-19) have a rare Monday game as they commence their series at Pirates’ affiliate Indianapolis (27-21). Will we see rehabbing LHP DL Hall in that series opener? Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Biloxi 7, Knoxville 6 Box Score and Game Log Via the Shuckers’ website, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Wilken, Lara Play Hero as Shuckers Snatch Six-Run Comeback Win Over Smokies Defense was the name of the game as Biloxi came back from a late 6-1 deficit to snatch a Sunday home victory in spite of being out-hit 13-to-8 in the contest. RHP Coleman Crow’s second start of the week didn’t go as well as hoped, as 5 of 12 Smokies reached base (2 2/3 IP, 3 singles, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 2 Ks) for 3 earned runs, while RHP Abdiel Mendoza ate some innings (3 1/3 IP) but didn’t fare much better (3 R, 5 H, 3 Ks). Down 6-1, the game turned with patient at-bats to load the bases in the bottom of the 6th inning, then consecutive 2-out RBI hits from C Darrien Miller (1-for-3, double, walk, RBI), OF Garrett Spain (2-for-4, double, 3 RBIs) and SS Jheremy Vargas. Then a terrific double play started by 2B Zavier Warren ended the 7th inning threat: And OF Luis Lara made a super throw to prevent damage in the 8th inning: So 3B Brock Wilken could walk it off in front of 2,925 home fans: Shuckers’ Extras: In contrast to Biloxi’s exceptional defense, the Cubs’ affiliate committed 4 errors, all by the left side of their infield. RHPs Tyler Bryant and Justin Yeager got the job done with scoreless 7th to 9th innings, but they weren’t without nervous moments: 1 double, 4 singles, 1 BB, 3 Ks. Yeager’s season ERA is now down to 2.41. Lara had a 2-for-4 evening and DH Mike Boeve stole his first base since August 2024. Next week’s outlook: Biloxi faces a 5.5 hour drive north to Madison, Alabama to take on Angels’ affiliate Rocket City. RHP Alexander Cornielle (1.93 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 8.4 K/9 in 37 1/3 IP) is the most likely starter for the series opener on Tuesday. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes Final: South Bend 8, Wisconsin 3 Box Score and Game Log Via the Timber Rattlers’ website, game details: Wisconsin Drops Series Finale in South Bend Wisconsin had already captured a road series win through Tuesday-Friday victories, but unfortunately dropped the 2 weekend games. Starting 22-year old RHP Jaron DeBerry managed to work around 3 walks in the first two innings before 4 third inning singles put the team in a 3-0 deficit. But here’s a sweet defensive play: Down 4-0 in the 6th inning, Wisconsin’s golden comeback chance came via a 3B Jadher Areinamo single, OF Eduardo Garcia double and 1B Blake Burke walk, but fizzled with a pitcher change as only 1 came across (via wild pitch). Timber Rattlers’ Extras: Talented RHP Tanner Shears’ 5th outing of 2025 continues his road to recovery after missing the entire 2024 season, but re-establishing control will require more time: 2/3 IP, 3 R (2 ER), 1 H, 1 BB, 2 HBP, 2 WP, 1 K. Similarly, RHP Zach Peek is working his way back to form after limited innings in 2023 and 2024, this time retiring all 4 batters faced, 3 via strikeout. Areinamo reached base 3 times (1-for-3, 2 walks), OF Hedbert Perez twice (2-for-4). Next week’s outlook: The Timber Rattlers return home to battle Cardinals’ affiliate Peoria, with Major League LHP Jose Quintana scheduled to make his first rehab start on Tuesday. Final: Carolina 9, Fredericksburg 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Mudcats’ website, game details: Mudcats Earn Series Split with Fredericksburg This starting pitchers’ duel through 5 innings (tied 1-1, with a combined 12 Ks) quickly turned into a Fredericksburg bullpen nightmare as their staff issued 6 walks in Carolina’s 7-run 6th inning, with 2B Demetrio Nadal contributing the only base hit amongst 11 Mudcats to come to the plate. Starting LHP Sam Garcia (5 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 3 BB, 1 WP, 6 Ks) had thrown 34 pitches in Tuesday’s contest, but was game to battle for 5 innings and 97 pitches (61 strikes) to lower his season ERA to 1.99 and notch his 4th Win of 2025. He recorded his 6th strikeout to strand 2 baserunners in the bottom of the 5th inning just before Carolina blew the game open. SS Filippo Di Turi (2-for-4) was the stat champion for Carolina, homering in the 2nd inning, walking and scoring in the 6th frame and doubling in the 9th inning. Mudcats’ Extras: Kudos to RHPs Jack Seppings (3.27 season ERA) and Miles Langhorne (3.98 season ERA) on their fine bullpen work – a combined 4 scoreless innings despite conceding 4 hits and 4 walks. Youngsters DH Jesus Made and OF Jose Anderson may have gone a combined 0-for-7 at the plate, but they also drew 3 walks and stole 3 bases (Made now has 17 SBs in 2025). Next week’s outlook: Carolina (29-15) returns home to play Red Sox affiliate Salem (19-25) for 6 games commencing on Tuesday. RHP Travis Smith (4.32 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, 6.5 K/9 in 25 IP) is the likely starting pitcher for Tuesday’s opening game. We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Monday, the Milwaukee Brewers get the day started at 1:10pm CST in Boston, followed by the Sounds at 5:35pm CST and ACL Brewers (hosting the ACL Guardians) at 8:00pm CST. 2. 22-year old RHP Jaron DeBerry (1.04 ERA, 13 Ks in 8.2 Low-A IP) makes his High-A debut as Wisconsin aims to complete a 5-1 series win at South Bend. Daniel Guilarte makes his 2nd start of the year at shortstop. CF Eduardo Garcia has a 7-game hitting streak.
  3. RHP Coleman Crow makes his 2nd start of the week (6 IP, 2 R, 2 Ks in 70 pitches on Tuesday) for AA Biloxi, which has already won its home series over Knoxville. 1B Luke Adams’ on-base streak is now 19 games.
  4. Nashville’s series finale against Scranton/WB is rained out after 1.5 innings, which based on past experience means the stats get wiped out too. Sorry EMJ (RBI double), Hall (single, run), Dunn (single, run), Seigler (sac fly). Lucky for Herron (error wiped out). So-so for McGee (2 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 3 Ks in 38 pitches).
  5. If you had RHP Easton McGee (3.44 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 9.8 K/9 in 18.1 IP) as your Sunday Nashville spot starter, you should win a prize. The AAA Sounds lead their home series against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 4 games to 1. C Anthony Seigler’s hitting streak is up to 14 games.
  6. Low-A Carolina’s Sunday matinee is underway, with the Mudcats needing a victory behind 6’4” LHP Sam Garcia (2.03 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 11.1 K/9 in 26.2 IP) to earn a 3-3 road series split. RF Reece Walling may be struggling for hits (.172 AVG), but he leads the team in walks (38) and runs (28).
  7. I’m thrilled at the resiliency shown on the farm: - Nashville winning without a starting pitcher - Carolina winning with only 26 active rostered players (25 when you exclude Adamczewski) - The ACL squad scoring 6 in the 9th inning, which they entered trailing 10-5
  8. This explains why rehabbing Jaison Chourio (of the Guardians) left the ACL game early:
  9. The AAA Sounds get a 2nd chance to close out a home series victory over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, though it looks like today will be a bullpen game initially behind RHP Garrett Stallings. 2B/C Anthony Seigler returns to the infield dirt after 2 games as DH.
  10. 3 close losses at Fredericksburg have Low-A Carolina needing a Game 5 victory to avoid a series defeat. RHP Chandler Welch threw 161 pitches last week, but is back on normal rest. 3B Filippo Di Turi leads the team in HRs (5) and RBIs (29).
  11. The AA Shuckers can clinch a series victory at home over Knoxville tonight behind RHP KC Hunt (5.28 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 7.9 K/9 in 30.2 IP). 20-year old CF Luis Lara (3rd youngest player in the Southern League) leads the team in hits (41), doubles (10) and stolen bases (17).
  12. Gotta love the ACL. The Guardians bring in a new pitcher for the top of the 9th inning, leading 10-5. That young man walks 4 of 6 Brewers, also yielding a single (Ibarguen) and getting a groundout. That makes it 10-7 with the bases loaded and 1 out. Pitching change: Luis Corobo bases clearing, game-tying double! Let’s go!!
  13. Trailing 3-1 and facing 2-on, 1-out in the 2nd inning, RHP Tanner Gillis escaped that jam (2 pop outs) and has retired 8 of the last 9 batters (1 walk). Wisconsin has 1 run and 1 hit (Juan Baez) as we head to the 5th.
  14. Our ACL Brewers are a mind-boggling 1-for-17 with RISP and our 3 pitchers today each have season ERAs north of 8. We trail 10-5 after 8 innings, though we earlier led 3-0 and 4-3. RHP Carlos Carra started the game with 3 scoreless innings and we do have 10 hits (Quero, Quintana, Holguin - 2 each). RHP Griffin Tobias gave up 7 runs (6 earned) in 3.2 IP.
  15. Jose Quintana rehab start in Appleton on Tuesday. That’s cool.
  16. - RHP Tyler Woessner reinstated from AA Biloxi’s 7-day injured list
  17. High-A Wisconsin aims for a 5th consecutive win at South Bend, with RHP Tanner Gillis making his 2nd start since promotion (6 IP, 1 R, 3 Ks last week). C Marco Dinges and CF Eduardo Garcia enter riding 7-game hit streaks.
  18. It looks like it'll be a bullpen game for Nashville, as Garrett Stallings is now listed as the starter (max pitch count this year = 26). They already looked short-handed to cover Saturday-Sunday-Monday, but my expectation was that they might get innings out of Deivi Garcia, Elvin Rodriguez and yesterday's spot call-up Josh Maciejewski. But now Deivi's on the Development List and DL Hall is listed as Sunday's starter. Let's hope these games go well. Reliever Sam McWilliams also hasn't played since May 11.
  19. The ACL Brewers' 9-inning game at ACL Guardians is under way, with 18-year old RHP Carlos Carra making his first stateside start (4th appearance) and C Jeferson Quero playing for the first time in 5 days: 1 - Ortuno - 2B 2 - Quero - C 3 - Encarnacion - CF 4 - Quintana - SS 5 - Montero - 1B 6 - Flores -LF 7 - Ibarguen - RF 8 - Holguin - 3B 9 - Rojas - DH X - Carra - P
  20. RHP Dariel Jaquez of DSL Brewers Blue placed on 60-day injured list 1B/3B Joandrew Pena of DSL Brewers Blue placed on 60-day injured list RHP Alejandro Parra of DSL Brewers Gold placed on 60-day injured list RHP Dalvin Bodre of DSL Brewers Gold placed on 60-day injured list RHP Luis Aguayo of DSL Brewers Gold placed on 60-day injured list
  21. Gotta wonder if Edgardo Ordonez is healthy. He's yet to play full season affiliate baseball.
  22. SS Cooper Pratt is back in the lineup after missing 3 games, as AA Biloxi aims to extend its home series lead over Knoxville to 3 games to 1. LHP Tate Kuehner (3.13 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 8.4 K/9 in 37.1 IP) gets the start and 3B Luke Adams (.833 OPS in 166 PAs) looks to extend his 18-game on-base streak.
  23. The High-A Timber Rattlers can clinch their first series win of 2025 at South Bend tonight. RHP Ryan Birchard (3.72 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 10.9 K/9 in 29 IP) makes his 8th start. 1B Blake Burke’s on-base streak is now 25 games.
  24. The AAA Sounds can clinch a home series win over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with a victory behind RHP Tobias Myers (3.2 IP, 4 R, 11 H in 3.2 IP in MLB last week) tonight. DH Anthony Seigler has a 13-game hitting streak.
  25. Great to see. Payne’s first game in 8 days, Meccage’s first action in 16 days.
