  1. Jacob Misiorowski, Mike Boeve, Melvin Hernandez and Filippo Di Turi all had big days in 4 wins for Nashville, Biloxi and Carolina (doubleheader), with Jose Anderson powering the ACL Brewers to victory as well. Tyler Black also started his rehab and Jeferson Quero homered in further good news, while Wisconsin was rained out. Check out Fangraphs’ updated Top 45 Brewers’ Prospect Rankings for a reminder of how incredibly deep and talented the Brewers' farm system is. Transactions: RHP Tanner Gillis promoted to High-A Wisconsin from Low-A Carolina RHP Jose Nova promoted to High-A Wisconsin from ACL Brewers RHP Tanner Shears activated from High-A Wisconsin’s 7-day injured list INF/OF Tyler Black sent on rehab assignment to ACL Brewers RHP Chandler Welch assigned to Low-A Carolina from High-A Wisconsin INF Ethan Murray placed on AA Biloxi’s 7-day injured list LHP Caden Vire placed on Low-A Carolina’s 7-day injured list Game Action: Final: Nashville 3, Memphis 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds’ website, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Misiorowski Dominant Again, Sounds Win Fourth Straight The Brewers may have been idle Thursday, but they were still the talk of the baseball world as RHP Jacob Misiorowski did things unseen at any level of baseball since velocity readings became the norm: After yet another dominant showing of control and heat by Misiorowski (7 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 Ks), BrewerFanatic’s Matthew Trueblood makes the case that these 103mph pitches should be landing in the gloves of Contreras and Haase henceforth. Of course, you don’t win games and take a 3-0 series lead on pitching alone, so 2B Anthony Seigler provided Nashville’s first run to tie the game in the 5th inning (6th homer, .936 OPS in his first season in AAA). It was still 1-1 in the top of the 9th inning, after RHP Craig Yoho escaped 2 singles and an HBP in the 8th, setting the stage for Wes Clarke, Adam Hall and Jimmy Herron to deliver three singles and a win: Sounds’ Extras: SS Freddy Zamora (.298 AVG, 2-for-3 in this game) has been holding his own this season and can expect even more playing time after Vinny Capra was claimed by the White Sox. Recent signee OF/INF Bobby Dalbec is still shaking off rust, now 0-for-13 since joining the Sounds. Friday’s outlook: LHP Bruce Zimmermann’s reward for 4 innings of scoreless relief on Sunday is a chance to make his 4th start of 2025, with the Sounds looking to clinch a road series victory. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Biloxi 9, Montgomery 3 Box Score and Game Log Via the Shuckers’ website, game details: Boeve's 4-RBI Night Leads Shuckers to League-Leading 22nd Win Adding Mike Boeve (working his way back after an injury) to the best offense in the Southern League may seem unfair to opponents, especially since he’s now contributing to the homer brigade: Boeve’s 3-run homer was his first since August 2024 and gave the Shuckers a 3-1 lead in support of starting RHP Alexander Cornielle (3 R, 3 H, 6 BB, 5 Ks), who had to battle control issues to get through 4 2/3 innings and 94 pitches (53 strikes). With the game still tight at 3-2 in the top of the 5th inning, a 1B Luke Adams (1-for-3, double, 2 walks) leadoff walk help trigger another 3-run frame, with Boeve (2-for-4, HR, 4 RBIs) and Cooper Pratt (2-for-5, RBI) contributing singles. 2B Zavier Warren keeps swinging with confidence, adding a 2-run shot in the 7th inning: Shuckers’ Extras: RHP Chase Costello only threw 2 pitches, but that was enough to strand 2 baserunners for Cornielle. That triggered a run of 4 1/3 scoreless, hitless innings from the bullpen, with RHP Will Childers covering 2 innings and recording 4 strikeouts. The hottest hitter in Minor League Baseball (3B Brock Wilken) only managed a single and a walk (only?) in this victory, but Baseball America put him in a feature article to keep him top of mind. C Darrien Miller and OF Bladimir Restituyo also had decent offensive production in the win, combining on a 3-for-6 evening with 2 walks and a stolen base. Friday’s outlook: RHP Brett Wichrowski is scheduled to make his 3rd start of 2025, having delivered 4 innings and 55 pitches last week. Biloxi can claim a 3-1 series advantage with another road victory. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes Rained Out: Beloit at Wisconsin Via the Timber Rattlers’ website, rainout details: Rattlers/Sky Carp Postponed on Thursday Night Hopefully the unscheduled day off will help Wisconsin re-group and re-load after falling behind 2 games to zero in their home series against Beloit. Friday’s outlook: RHP Tyson Hardin (1.42 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 9.7 K/9 in 31 2/3 IP) and LHP Anthony Flores (6.65 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 9.6 K/9 in 21 2/3 IP) are expected to start the Timber Rattlers’ doubleheader, with the club needing to win both games to knot up this week’s series. Game One Final: Carolina 4, Fayetteville 2 (in 7 innings) Box Score and Game Log Game Two Final: Carolina 10, Fayetteville 3 (in 7 innings) Box Score and Game Log Via the Mudcats’ website, game details: Mudcats Sweep Doubleheader From Fayetteville Down to 14 active pitchers (3 of whom recently threw multiple innings) and facing 5 games in 4 days, starting RHP Melvin Hernandez (7 IP, 2 R, 6 H, 0 BB, 8 Ks) understood the mission: Save the Staff and Win the Game. And boy did the 18-year old come through! The second youngest pitcher in the Carolina League delivered a 94-pitch complete game, peppering the zone for 3 innings (40 pitches, 31 strikes), escaping a difficult 4th frame aided by 2 outs on the bases, then bearing down to only allow 2 harmless singles over the final 3 frames. 3B Jesus Made and OF Luis Lameda provided the key hits in that opening-game win, combining on a 4-for-5 game with a double, walk, 3 RBIs and 2 stolen bases: 2B/3B Filippo Di Turi also contributed 2 hits in the first game, before getting the party started in the night cap with his 5th homer of 2025 as part of a 5-for-6, 2 RBI day for him: In his 7th appearance of 2025, starting RHP Bryan Rivera came through with his best outing of year, delivering 5 innings of 1-run, 1-hit baseball with 5 strikeouts (and 3 BB). The game was 4-1 in the 5th inning when Carolina opened the floodgates with a 6-run frame, including RBI doubles from OF Reece Walling and C Eric Martinez (first action in 2 weeks): Mudcats’ Extras: The sweep gives the Mudcats a 3-0 series lead, but we need to watch the health status of OF Braylon Payne, who exited the second game after stealing 2 bases and scoring in the 3rd inning. In that second contest, every spot in the Mudcats’ lineup reached base via walk or hit, with the somewhat surprising exception of Made, who still contributed an RBI. LHP Anfernny Reyes set aside last week’s nightmare relief outing and a leadoff double in the 7th inning to retire the final three hitters on a sacrifice fly and 2 ground outs. Friday’s outlook: RHP Jaron DeBerry is set for his 3rd start of 2025, with Carolina positioned to clinch yet another series win. Will we see the return of 2B Josh Adamczewski (last played May 2nd) to the lineup? Final: ACL Brewers 6, ACL Cubs 5 (in 10 innings) Box Score and Game Log The old adage that we can throw out win-loss records for rivalry games held true here, as the winless Cubs pushed the first place ACL Brewers to extra innings, before the superior team prevailed. Rehabbing 1B Tyler Black (1-for-3, run) and C Jeferson Quero (1-for-2, HR, walk, RBI) may have been atop the lineup (before exiting after 5 innings), but the teenagers carried the heavy load yet again to push the team’s record to 8-2 with this extra inning victory. 18-year old RHP Tyler Renz made his first start (2nd appearance) in the Brewers’ system, limiting the opposition to 2 runs over 5 innings, with 4 strikeouts, supported by Quero’s first inning homer, DH Luis Corobo’s (3-for-5) 2nd inning leadoff double and OF Jose Anderson’s 2-out, 2-run single in the 5th inning. 19-year old RHP Wenderlyn King (4 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 4 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 3 Ks) retired 8 of the first 9 batters he faced, before conceding 2 eighth inning runs on 3 consecutive singles to knot the contest at 4-4. The game looked lost after a Cubs’ leadoff triple against King in the bottom of the 9th inning, which followed the Brewers loading the bases with nobody out in the top half yet coming up empty (3 straight Ks). However, King and the defense rallied with a strikeout and ground ball double play to send the contest to extras. Anderson (3-for-5, triple, 3 RBIs) then came through again with a leadoff RBI triple, before adding an important insurance run on an error. RHP Daurys Mora earned the save despite allowing a run-scoring double with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th, getting his 2nd strikeout of the inning on the final batter. Friday’s outlook: The ACL Brewers play at the ACL Dodgers (6-3) at 8:00pm CST, with the Dodgers likely seeking revenge after being pummeled 15-2 on Tuesday. We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Friday, Wisconsin kicks off a six-game Minor League set with Game One of their doubleheader commencing at 5:10pm CST. The Milwaukee Brewers also return to action, hosting the Twins at 7:10pm. 2. After grabbing a tight win in the first game of today’s doubleheader, Low-A Carolina can take a 3-0 series lead with a victory behind RHP Bryan Rivera (4.43 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 10,6 K/9 in 20.1 IP) tonight. LF Demetrio Nadal and C Eric Martinez enter as lineup changes from Game 1..
  3. After successfully peppering the zone thru 3 scoreless frames (40 pitches, 31 strikes), Hernandez conceded 2 runs on 4 hits in the 4th inning, with 2 outs fortunately occurring on the bases (player trying to stretch a single; caught stealing). Mudcats now lead only 3-2, entering the 5th. Melvin is at 60 pitches thru 4.
  4. RHP Alexander Cornielle (1.32 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, 9.5 K/9 in 27.1 IP) has been AA Biloxi’s top starting pitcher in this early season and he gets the chance to lead them to a 2-1 series lead at Montgomery. 1B Luke Adams has homered in back-to-back games and has a 14-game on-base streak.
  5. High-A Wisconsin trails Beloit 2 games to 0 in their home series, but have solid RHP Tyson Hardin (1.42 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 9.7 K/9 in 31.2 IP) starting tonight. 1B Blake Burke’s hit streak is now 11 games.
  6. Just 9 pitches for Melvin in his 2nd frame (yes!), then the Mudcats load the bases on 2 walks a Di Turi single, pushing across 2 runs (sac fly, Made 2-out RBI infield single). 3-0 Carolina after 2 innings.
  7. A 14-pitch first inning (11 strikes, 2 Ks) for Melvin Hernandez, extended 2 pitches by an error by second baseman Di Turi. Hopefully he can cover 6 frames for this Mudcats’ team. Now for the offense to erupt.
  8. Today’s doubleheader sees the Low-A Mudcats host Fayetteville, with Carolina leading the series 1-0. RHP Melvin Hernandez (2.33 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 7.3 K/9 in 27.0 IP) is now the 2nd-youngest pitcher in the 12-team Carolina League (a Royals’ prospect joined this level). DH Marco Dinges’ 2-homer game yesterday has him well atop the league in OPS (1.095 in 92 PAs).
  9. - INF/OF Tyler Black sent on rehab assignment to ACL Brewers
  10. With all the MILB roster shuffling today (Shears is back!, Wisconsin also gets Tanner Gillis!, etc.), Carolina's now left with 14 pitchers, 4 of whom threw yesterday or started on Tuesday: Chandler Welch, Travis Smith, Jesus Flores, Sam Garcia. Boy, let's hope we don't burn through many pitchers in today's doubleheader, given that they've still got 3 more games in front of them Friday-Sunday.
  11. Dominant RHP Jacob Misiorowski (1.49 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 11.5 K/9 in 42.1 IP) gets the early start today as AAA Nashville aims to extend its series lead to 3-0 in Memphis. 2B Anthony Seigler’s hit streak is up to 10 games, with a season OPS of .919.
  12. RHP Coleman Crow (4.2 scoreless IP, 8 Ks last week) and AA Biloxi look to double their series lead at Montgomery tonight. Our offense leads the 8-team Southern League in runs, doubles, homers, RBIs, walks, Ks (least), OBP, SLG, total bases and HBP, while Montgomery leads in hits, triples, AVG and GIDP (least).
  13. Just 34 pitches (and just 17 strikes) over 2 scoreless innings for Aaron Ashby: 1 double, 1 single, 2 walks, 1 K. I figure he’ll need the whole month of rehab to get to the point of being an effective MLB reliever. He’s either “right” or atrocious, based on what we saw in 2024. So let’s get him right.
  14. After winning Game 1 earlier today, the Sounds get a chance to double up at Memphis behind rehabbing LHP DL Hall. C Anthony Seigler had 3 hits and 4 RBIs in that opening game. SS Freddy Zamora enters for Clarke as the only lineup change.
  15. So that error forced Broca to throw 9 more pitches and concede an RBI single. Gotta bring in another arm now. Still 2 outs in 6th inning. Wisconsin trails 12-6.
  16. Jeferson Figueroa went 50 pitches in relief and now Jesus Broca is at 58 pitches, only for a Juan Baez error to extend the 6th inning. Rough. Wisconsin trails 11-6 after Areinamo homered and Beloit’s wild relief pitcher allowed in 2 more runs.
  17. Solid line for Aaron Civale (5 shutout innings, 2 singles, 1 BB), though I suspect we want to see more Ks (2) and ground balls (4 of 14 batted balls). Velocity peaked at 93.5mph over 60 pitches. Gotta figure one more rehab start, right?
  18. Seigler: HR, 3B, 1B, BB, 4 RBIs - close en enough to a cycle for me
  19. Hmmm. The Patricio Aquino spot start didn’t work out: 6 runs, 35 pitches in the 1st inning. Odds of a position player pitching just increased to 85% in this one.
  20. High-A Wisconsin needs some immediate revenge to even their home series against Beloit 1-1, with RHP Patricio Aquino (1.00 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 5.0 K/9 in 18 IP) getting the somewhat surprising start (max pitch count thus far in 2025: 53 on April 12). DH/1B Blake Burke’s hit streak is up to 10 games.
  21. After a rainout yesterday, AAA Nashville will play 2 games at Memphis today, welcoming recently-signed Bobby Dalbec as a right fielder in Game One. RHP Aaron Civale makes his second rehab start (4 scoreless innings last week).
  22. The Low-A Mudcats host Astros’ affiliate Fayetteville this week, with the series kicking off at 11:05 CST today after a rainout yesterday. RHP Travis Smith (3.94 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 6.8 K/9 in 16 IP) starts the opening game. 3B Jesus Made’s on-base streak is at 24 games.
  23. High-A Wisconsin (14-19) hosts Marlins’ affiliate Beloit this week, coming off 3 straight series draws but still searching for their first series win. RHP Chandler Welch could use a turnaround (5.72 ERA, 1.84 WHIP, 4.8 K/9 in 28.1 IP). 2B Jadher Areinamo is tied for 3rd in the Midwest League in hits.
  24. The 23-16 Nashville Sounds welcome INF/OF Bobby Dalbec (1.050 OPS in 48 PAs, with a 2 BB / 16 K ratio; .460 xwOBA according to Statcast, highest in AAA) to the organization. They play at Cardinals’ affiliate Memphis, with Aaron Civale making his 2nd rehab start (4 shutout innings last week).
  25. First place Biloxi is in Montgomery this week to face the Rays’ AA affiliate. RHP KC Hunt (5.40 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 7.8 K/9 in 26.2 IP) is still searching for his dominant 2024 form. Here’s 3B Brock Wilken’s slash line over his last 10 games: .382 AVG / .476 OBP / .912 SLG in 42 PAs.
