  1. Of all our starting pitchers, I feel most confident in a "W" when I see Marcum's name in the probables.
  2. If money factors in, I'd rather take the "value" player in Marcum. But, if money is no issue and you're talking raw pitching potential going forward, Greinke wins out easily.
  3. I vote for at least a one week reprieve from knocking Yuni's defense after that play. WOW.
  4. Can someone tell me why Lucroy isn't hitting higher in the batting order? Is it the unwritten rule of baseball that your catcher has to hit 8th or something? I think RR needs to bump him up a few slots.
  5. Last game, I predicted that Greinke would get "shelled." He didn't exactly get shelled but he did not pitch as well as people expected he would. I only said that because I felt he was still in "Spring Training" mode and needed to be stretched out a bit more before taking the hill in the majors. Tonight, since his pitch count will be a normal 100, I'm saying he will toss a gem. This should have been his original first start date. 5-2 Brewers win.
  6. With a team with so many hot and cold offensive players, I'm sorry, but this lineup can't handle several sub-.300 OBP players in it. He's a huge part of the problem. There comes a point where a guy can't play in the major leagues as a result of his inability to hit major league pitching or get on base...any way.
  7. Willie, sorry. Are you reading these posts? Making him seem like a defensive superstar. Yes, he makes nice plays once in awhile out there, but he also throws to the wrong bases often, misses cutoffs and does not do enough out there to make up for his shoddy bat. I'm sorry, but I'm not drinking the same Kool Aid.
  8. It's funny how people are making Gomez out to be Willy Mays in CF now. I find this quite amusing.
  9. I do not think Gomez is a major league player. While his defense is good, his batting average and OBP tell me that he cannot hit MLB pitching. It's not like this is a small sample size. His OBP every year is under .300. That is beyond pathetic. A wise baseball sage once said, "you cannot steal first base." This applies directly to Gomez.
  10. I don't believe it. They're too classy to say things like that. Worst managing and worst execution ever to bunt in that situation. Just baffling.
  11. Give Counsell credit...Yuni wouldn't have even dove for that ball.
  12. Thats what happens when you can't work the count and swing at the first pitch. They have looked absolutely lost. Both guys were absolutely locked in though before this losing streak happened. I'm wondering if teams are pitching them differently. I know the other day they were pitching them both inside.
  13. Braun's BA dropped about 60 percentage points in the last week. He's scuffling and so is Prince.
  14. The Brewers have just faced 7 insanely unhittable pitchers during this losing streak. Because it is always the pitching that deserves the credit, right Rock? The terrible plate approaches have nothing to do with it...
  15. Great point. I was moreso speaking to the value I put on Reyes for this Brewers team. I know NYM is not a good fit as a trade partner for Prince with Davis in the fold. What other package would entice NYM?
  16. I would deal Prince straight up for Jose Reyes. Let's face it, we all know Prince is gone anyways. Reyes is a free agent after season's end and I believe that we can resign him. He obviously won't command Prince money and would solidify a clear black hole position for Milwaukee by plugging him in at SS for the next 10 years. Plus, it shifts our team from power-only to a team that may have the ability to manufacture runs and not just rely on a long-ball. You can have Reyes lead off and move Rickie to the 3 hole and push Braun back to 4. Your lineup still looks really good.
  17. It's hilarious to me that people are blaming RR for Nyjer getting hit in the hand while bunting. If he used correct bunting technique and blocked his fingers with his bat, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Believe me, I can list at least 5 faults of RR thus far in his first month as manager, but this clearly is not one of them.
  18. 100% agree. 2 weeks, no way. The bone alone won't heal in that amount of time. Then factor in physical therapy and a rehab stint and I'm agreeing with your 4-6 weeks, leaning more towards 6.
  19. The check swing K's tell the story with this guy. He has hitters guessing up there. Why does losing 6 in a row seem so easy for this team but winning 6 in a row feels virtually impossible?
  20. This closer is virtually unhittable. Wow is he impressive. He makes Axford look like a AA pitcher.
  21. It's still hard to imagine that over the course of the year, this team will be "terrible" with as good of a starting rotation as they have.
  22. First time all year I'm thinking maybe it wasn't such a good idea to go "all in" for this year with a first time manager. Maybe RR is in over his head.
  23. Sure, but don't need to throw a 3rd grade temper tantrum and start kicking things over in the dugout. Seriously? You're complaining about him being upset that he's injured? How can you not like the passion? Do you want stoic statues on our team?
