  1. Any way you slice it, we're about to lose our 6th series in a row. That doesn't sit well with me at all. We have to play a lot better in this FLA series. These home games used to be almost automatic W's.
  2. A 7-run inning. Absolutely pathetic. Talk about the wheels coming off big time.
  3. Ouch. That really blows. Talk about a shot to the gut there. Well, 2 ABs left. But this sure takes the wind out of the sails of the players.
  4. Huge at bat right here. If we get this run in, we have T-Bow/Cordero to finish it out.
  5. 59 pitches for Hudson thru 5. He's good to go for awhile.
  6. Yeah, I don't get it how little league players are able to call out "I got it!" for popups but major leaguers don't. If they did, you wouldn't see players banging into each other all the time. Bushie is pitching a gem by the way. He's got that 12 to 6 working for him today.
  7. I really like this lineup. I think the way Corey is finding ways to get on base helped Ned make this decision relatively easy. Also, I would propose that after he sits Rickie for a day or two, he moves him down in the order (preferably the 7 spot) and allows TGJ or Hart to leadoff for awhile. I like seeing Hart get 3 straight starts. How else is the kid going to build his confidence and produce consistently if he's played sparingly?
  8. COCO!!! That bad feeling turned into a few innocent baserunners. Thank God.
  9. I have a bad feeling about this one. The guy can't stay pefect forever.
  10. Big inning by T-Bow there. It would sure be nice to tack on an insurance run this inning. I say that because we have to face Jones next inning and I have a feeling he has the capability to turn around a Coco fastball awfully quickly.
  11. I, for sure, can agree to that jloos19.
  12. jloos19... I give credit to players who do well. The reason why you think I do not root for Sheets is because I'm one of the few people on here (and there are others besides me) who aren't afraid to critique Sheets when he deserves it. Some feel the guy can do no wrong. Having said that, I give him credit when he does well and WANT to see him do well because that means the Brewers will do well. What I said earlier I stand by. He is notorious for his 1st inning struggles BUT I also said Let's not be sarcastically unrealistic here. When people speak of an ace "stopping a losing streak" it means (to me at least) that he will keep the ball club in the game for the entire duration of the game (much like Capuano did yesterday). So I give Sheets credit for doing just what an ace should do tonight.
  13. Hey Bucksman4....I wish we had an ace that could give us 6 solid innings with a shot to win... HAHAHA....I find it funny you feel you have to call me out when the ace of the staff has a good outing. You sound surprised. If he's the ace, you should expect this of him. Like I want to see him do poorly....
  14. I have a feeling this Hardy-Braun-Fielder tandem is going to cause a lot of damage throughout the rest of the season. Not an easy out in there.
  15. Sheet's splits page shows he's more likely to give up runs in innings 4-6 than 1-3. I find it funny you like to make yourself seem well versed with these fancy baseball references. The fact is that you are totally misguided in that you're critiquing my point about Sheets' bad first inning by referencing innings 2 and 3 as well. Please re-read my post as I never mentioned anything about the last 8 innings. I don't need Baseball Reference to tell me he's given up a good portion of his runs in the first inning; I know that by watching games.
  16. When? I'd really like to know. I'll ask you a ? right back: How long have you been watching Ben Sheets? Anyone who knows Sheets shouldn't be surprised when he gives up first inning runs. He's noted for that.
  17. jloos19....I kinda feel bad I foreshadowed this in some eerie way. Relax. Don't feel like you have to defend the "ace" everytime he blows up. I'm used to seeing these types of games from him.
  18. I posted this a few hours ago in the "True test for Sheets tonite" thread: Let's not be sarcastically unrealistic here. When people speak of an ace "stopping a losing streak" it means (to me at least) that he will keep the ball club in the game for the entire duration of the game (much like Capuano did yesterday). If Sheets had the type of game you posted above, no one would fault him for losing the game, much like we did not fault Cappy in his outing yesterday. Now, if Sheets goes out in the first inning and gives up 3-4 runs tonight, we'd have a legitimate gripe We officially have the right to gripe.
  19. This is why I have 0% confidence in Sheets as an "ace." He's very hittable. His fastball, as I've said before, has no movement whatsoever. He isn't foolin' anyone tonight.
  20. Because if Sheets goes 8 IP with 9 ks and 1 ER and we lose 1-0, he isnt an ace. Let's not be sarcastically unrealistic here. Now, if Sheets goes out in the first inning and gives up 3-4 runs tonight, we'd have a legitimate gripe.
  21. Is it too early to pull out the brooms yet? With Smoltzie and Hudson due up, I'm on my way to the closet for the dust pan.
  22. Second of all, Gwynn has just no power. There's no reason he should be in the lineup over Gross or Hart. Yeah that is why ideally in my mind, you would eventually have: Gwynn Jr in CF as leadoff hitter. Bill Hall in LF. Corey Hart in RF. That is what I hope is in store for the Brewers in the future. I'm sure someone agrees with me there.
  23. Just what the Brewers need right now. Ruffle a few feathers a little bit. Vin Scully just got done saying Villanueva loved the way Pedro Martinez throws inside to back off hitters and intimidate. He showed that he has a little Pedro in him vs. Martin in that AB by brushing him inside.
  24. The stupid fans out in LF were reaching for the ball again.
  25. Just cost us a run!!!! IDIOTS Don't blow a fuse. I doubt that 1 run would matter much in this one.
