  1. I dont understand why many of you dont want Weeks hitting leadoff. Probably because most people like their leadoff hitters to not K seemingly every other AB. We like guys who set the table, take a walk, and not look clueless up there with off-speed pitches.
  2. An ace would make sure he ended this 4-game losing streak right? Just checking before the game starts. (5 mins. after I typed the above I heard Sparky touch on the exact same topic. An ace would make sure he stepped up and put his critics to rest with a big performance. If he can't do it, he's not an 'ace.')
  3. letting Rickie "figure out how to hit the breaking stuff" in the minors? The Brewers won't have the balls to do this, however, I think that's the direction he is heading and believe it or not, would be beneficial for both he and the team at this point.
  4. OK, 25-15 and up anywhere from 4.5 to 5.5 at the quarter mark ain't bad. Haha...I've been reading this type of post seemingly everyday for the last week. Soon I'll be reading... 25-16 aint bad. 25-17 still is awesome. 25-18 is better than we all expected. 25-19...come on, it's still 6 games over! 25-20....etc, etc. Enough already.
  5. GAME OVER I thought 2 runs would be enough to sink us tonight...5 puts this baby to bed early. At least if we're going to lose, I'd rather it be this way and not kill my psyche like the last 2 days. Good night, Wisconsin.
  6. Why do I feel like this will be 4 losses in a row? ....after our 1st AB's grant you.
  7. The disheartening part is this road trip out East was the "test" all the critics put us to and said if we did well, we were for real and if we didn't, this team might very well still be a fluke. I look at it as simply 2 losses in Philly and not the extreme case that some people paint this road trip to be. Sure it would be nice to take some of these close games, but the thing that makes me a little bit leary is how T-bow is pitching here lately. In order to go anywhere this year, we need the T-Bow/Cordero duo to be as flawless as they were earlier this year.
  8. Who's gonna complain about him swinging at the first pitch now?
  9. Piss poor piece of hitting there by Billy.
  10. Weeks is really sucking up there. Looks lost on off-speed stuff....nothing new there.
  11. This is a very disheartening game. To have a 4 run lead and blow it in this situation is inexcusable and it's a tough one to swallow. It's ashamed that we have to start this 4 game series with a game like this with Hamels and Garcia still to face us in this series. Hey...at least the Cubs lost!
  12. 1.76 to 3.94....Derrick Turnbow's ERA jumping in 2/3 of an inning.
  13. This was obvious. When you have bases loaded or a guy on 2nd and 3rd, you know what's coming if you're a hitter. FASTBALLS! Turnbow isn't confident enough in his breaking stuff to throw it when guys are in scoring positon.
  14. Yeah we just handed them back a run there. It could've been a nice 3-run cushion but we screwed it up again on the bases. This is inexcusable against good teams; this kind of stuff seems to come and bite you back later on in the game.
  15. This is borderline ridiculous now JJ...when are you going to come back down to earth? I hope this is for real....if so, this could be the beginning of an amazing career.
  16. Definition of OVER-aggresiveness = What Weeks just did.
  17. What we need is more RH pinch hitting options. I'm disappointed we didn't pull it out, but not upset. This Mets team has an all-star lineup. The last guy I thought would beat us is Eisley, but of course he did. I had the feeling the Mets wanted to enact some revenge on Soup tonight for his work last year in the NLCS against them. Hope Sheets brings his "A" stuff tomorrow; he'll need it.
  18. The nicest part of being 14 games over .500 is our biggest area of disagreement is our 4th-5th outfielder spot in a discussion of Gwynn vs. Gross. When my biggest complaint right now is Gabe Gross' lack of hitting, that makes me happy.
  19. There is no way you can make a meaningful judgement about Gwynn and Gross based on this season alone because neither has played enough. Yet, no one disagreed with me when I said I felt more confident pinch hitting Gwynn over Gross at this point this year. Why? Probably because Gwynn is performing better. I wasn't saying Gabe Gross is inept at playing baseball, I'm just saying Gwynn is hitting better right now. I don't need 500 AB sample size to tell me Gwynn is getting the job done with the bat and Gabe Gross isn't.
  20. Can't you just turn it off for now and let us enjoy this historic winning streak? You either have a personal vendetta for me or you just hate it when someone says something that offends you personally. You'd think you were a relative to all of the Brewers players the way you jump on people when they critique them. If you don't think I'm happy that they're 7 games up on the Cubs, a team I hate with all my heart and soul living down in Chicago, then you are sorely mistaken. Having said that, I am NOT a homer. Some people on this board clearly are. I'm a person who likes to look at things as I see it and praise people who deserve it and also point out weaknesses or deficiencies as they appear. I watch every game; I have the right to say what I want as I see it.
  21. Dude. It must suck for you that they are winning this season. Yeah because someone who says something remotely negative about the Brewers surely cannot be a true fan, right? Gimme a break. Sometimes the truth hurts....
  22. I'm wondering why a lot of people on here were going ga-ga over Gabe Gross. What has he ever done to deserve such praise? He's worthy of a Gross...Gross....Gross -- YOU SUCK! chant in my opinion this year.
  23. I'm a little thirsty and suddenly shivering cold....it's time for some HOT COCO!!!
  24. Let's worry about the 9th when the time comes. We need to get the lead first. I believe CoCo is okay to pitch today. With the day off tomorrow, he'll be rested for Friday.
