  1. I don't think I've seen Bill Hall field a ball cleanly to him yet this year. New nickname: Bobbles Hall. Call me a critic if you will, but wouldn't you think you might consider pulling Aquino after he threw one to the backstop to walk in a run? I'm just sayin'....
  2. Dessens surprises me when he doesn't give up any runs out there. Can someone convince me that having him over Capellan helps this team in any way? The only reason why he is on this roster is because they want to show they got an MLB player for Brady Clark. As I'm ready to post this, he K's Hatteberg. I stick by what I'm saying though.
  3. Tough game to watch. From the get-go, I thought we were going to jump all over Looper. After that, you could just tell Sheets was going to throw BP all day long. He didn't have his usual control or get his curveball in for strikes very much. Plus, Pujols was basically assured a HR today based upon his love for Ben Sheets on the mound. An all around sloppy game, both in the field and at the plate. It's games like these that make me wonder why Braun is still in the minors. He can miss fly balls and make as poor of throws as Graffanino can.
  4. Tied for first! Big Big series vs. STL coming up. Very impressive second game tonight. Timely hitting, awesome pitching...great baseball.
  5. Why does it seem like those type of popup plays (Jenks and Hardy) only happen to the Brewers? It always seems like they try to do something to get your heart all riled up and then have to work extra hard to finish off the game? Ah well, a win is a win.
  6. I'm watching the Marlins feed on MLBTV. Is anyone else? This is the worst broadcast I've ever watched in my entire life. All they do is read e-mails the whole game. No insight, no real in-game analysis...just random fan e-mails and a bunch of bad jokes about The Netherlands because of their pitcher.
  7. The way we're hitting, you can't blame them for sending him and taking the chance that the throw would be off.
  8. After watching these guys through the first 2 innings vs. this first time in the bigs pitcher, all I can think of is 3 words: Same ol' Brewers.
  9. The thing about Suppan is when he was a Cardinal, I knew we had difficulty with him but he never scared me as an opposing fan. His stuff seemed very hittable and less than stellar. I look at him now and unfortunately think the same thing. To spend $42 mill on a guy who could be a very average pitcher isn't sitting well with me.
  10. BP in the 1st for Suppan. Hope he settles down and gets his accuracy soon.
  11. My first critique of a Brewers player this year: Elmer Dessens sucks. There is absolutely nothing special about this guy, whatsoever. It seems like every time he's in there, they always score runs against him. You're telling me Capellan isn't better than this clown?
  12. What happened to us being good? I dunno. I'm hoping this isn't a case of the good ol' fashioned 'we think we're better than we actually are' syndrome. Are we overvaluing Weeks, Hart, Hardy, and Fielder? Can they be everyday big league hitters right now? We'll find out soon, but I know a lot of us thought so going into this year with a lot of expectations.
  13. I couldn't believe it the other day when I read someone posting on here that they didn't like Estrada because of the fact he didn't walk enough. My feeling is this...the guy can flat out rake. I love that he puts the ball in play almost every time he hits. Make the defense make a mistake. He is what I thought he was: an all-star catcher.
  14. Jenks got a very nice ovation before his AB. Nice to see. His K...not so nice to see.
  15. Great first inning Benny! How bout for old time's sake...Let's get him some runs!!!
  16. I am waiting for MLB TV to start. What happened with the PA announcer??
  17. This is why baseball is America's game. The anticipation for the first pitch on opening day is unmatched by any sport. Spring brings all of our anticipation, expectations, and hopes for the new season to life and I hope everyone gets the Brewers "W" that they want today and I wish everyone here a great season!!
  18. I think Jenkins is chasing his club option $9 million contract for next year If he hits us .290+, 30 HR, and 95 RBi....he will get his $9 million. He loves to perform well during contract years, that's no secret.
  19. The point was made that his first inning does suck. I don't see the point in trying to refute statistics that indicate innings 1-3. I didn't mention innings 2 or 3 anywhere in my statements. I watch Ben's games. I know he stinks in the first innings very often. Thank you for putting together those first inning numbers there whiz kid. That might zip some people's lips who throw cheap shots at me when I was ultimately correct in my assertions. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. Oh, I'm not criticizing Sheets for THIS particular game...the book on Sheets is jump on him early..and during the regular season, he's known to give up big 1st innings. He has to come out of the bullpen in game-mode right away.
  21. Typical 1st inning for Sheets. IMO, one of the reasons why he doesn't "WIN" more games...when you consistently put your own batters behind the 8-ball early in the game, you certainly put pressure on them to score. He has to come out ready to pitch strong at the outset, enough said.
  22. Yeah and people forgave Weeks' error-fest and said "stick with him because of his bat." Braun's bat is even better and I contend that if Weeks is in the lineup, Braun should be too. And I ask: WHAT CAN BRAUN DO FOR YOU???
  23. Counsell and Graffy are already shaking in their cleats!! Get this kid in the everyday lineup and you'll like what you see.
  24. Yeah, just like they said Prior's smooth delivery would prevent injury concerns....http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
