I don't know how anyone can find it disrespectful given the backstory and that the game is already over (I mean, are the handshakes disrespectful?), but we know how hypocritical they are in St. Louis and how thin their skins are. Anyway.
Phew again. When JJ threw that ball to throw out Soto, I half expected to see it in the stands...just seems like the kinda thing they do at home against the Cubs.
As much as I like seeing the Brewers do well at Wrigley, I'd trade it if they played the Cubs better at home I absolutely cannot stand hearing Cubs fans cheer at MP (I do like seeing Kendall gun down Cubs, however...esp. given his defensive performance when he was with them)
I couldn't believe how many Cubs fans that had their backs to the field, taunting the fans in the stand, during that pan-and-scan they showed after Bradley's homer. Actually, I kinda can.
After the success we had with our Counsellnino lineup in the past, I never scoff at a forfeit lineup. It wasn't that lineup, it was that that lineup beat us primarily with two homers and a triple...that might be Taveras' only HR of the season
Kinda frustrating seeing a Votto and Phillips-less lineup (not to mention the ghostly spectres of Dunn and Junior) use their power game to beat us. Hopefully we catch up to Owings at some point but he's looking sharp so far.
Man, these Reds announcers have really been dogpiling on Manny...yeah, he's put a lot of baserunners on tonight, and he has his problems, but he has pitched four scoreless innings while your Reds have given up ten runs, guys.
The Reds' announcers seem to have more insight on Parra than his own announcers--they thought he could easily "melt down" if he starts feeling any pressure. They did their homework, I guess. Anyway, the Brewers have a way of making these early laughers tense by game's end, so I hope they break that habit like they seem to have their extreme road and PNC Park woes.
Thanks for these, CrewDood...I used to read the heck out of BD as a kid through my teens and early 20s, but like most people, fell off once the internet came into full swing. I count seven Brewers covers between the 80s, 90s and 00s!
