  1. To be fair, our batters didn't get to face our pitching staff early in the year when they were walking in some of those runs left and right
  2. Good news is that Maholm's count is getting up there Still, frustrating to see bases loaded left there like that...again...and again...
  3. Along the same lines, I'm going to be running the Bay to Breakers in about 2 1/2 weeks but have been hampered by injuries the last few weeks...right now I can't even go two miles without my LCL starting to get really sore and painful. Very frustrating since I've been looking forward to this for a while.
  4. This will not end well. The Astros had (have?) issue with Braun as well...I know he's the golden boy around here and people will say they "love his attitude" but I kinda wish he would keep things a little more...."internalized."
  5. There'd almost certainly be a brawl in that case and almost certainly suspensions and God forbid, injuries Again, I hope they don't get caught up in a beanbrawl war with the likes of the Pirates.
  6. I really really hope Macha doesn't pull a Yost and get caught up in these shenanigans, especially at home against the Pirates. Seeing McClung come in solely to bean someone at the end of '07 when there was still a chance for the playoffs had me feeling bad for Seth
  7. You can't catch flu from a tasty, tasty burrito.
  8. Well, to be fair, I only saw one or two people say that, and they were kinda being prodded by some ignorant trolling Brewers' fan. I do find their perspective on Rock and BA interesting--I thought they were being fair in their assesment of Karstens' plunking, and I never heard them say anything about Karstens' control to the extent some of their fans heard it as. And then to say the Marlins announcers were fair? Those guys, to me, are the most grating homers in MLB. Anyway.
  9. Qdoba? Qdoba?!?!? Man, sounds like we need to get an off-shoot of the Alameda-Weehawken Burrito Tunnel to Milwaukee, stat!
  10. For any new folks, blue type is for gentle kidding, light sarcasm. I was chuckling because the picture is taken in front of the ladies room.Sorry, took me this long to realize you were talking about me...the R threw me off Anyway, yeah, that's just down in the tunnel underneath the Field Club seats by where the team walks from the dugout to clubhouse and then out to the bus. I'm a Brewers fan but I have my limits!
  11. Had to see what Pittsburgh fans had to say after tonight and came across this gem of a thread.
  12. Yeah, I'm thankful they stuck around for that...really cool regardless of the non-save situation
  13. I've read this before and don't entirely disagree with it (although I do with much of it)... That said, I do think it's a little distasteful to "vote on stories."
  14. Who didn't see that coming with Nelson. And now Rickie pops up on the first pitch--frustrating. But yeah--Nelson might need to head back down to Nashville for a while. TGJ could at least pinch-run...right?
  15. Interesting that the Red Sox have been scouting Stetter...I have to wonder 1) what the Red Sox could possibly trade the Brew Crew that we'd be willing to part with Mitch this early in the season but mostly 2) if Swindle would be trusted enough to come back up and take on that role if Mitch went to Fenway. Anyway--tonight could be the night: "Hell's Bells" echoing through Miller Park...
  16. A lot of time invested in this one for little payoff
  17. Don't have anything to offer unfortunately since I'm not in the area, but my wife also likes taking snaps of these old relics when we're on road trips: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BdQFDVIl-k8/SWQC0TW-9bI/AAAAAAAABCk/CiF8IO0Ama8/s1600-h/Vintage+Roadside+Signs.jpg Anyway, cool project, good luck to your girlfriend
  18. To be fair, he'd have gotten out of the inning with the lead intact if Rickie hadn't gotten the error I, also, was a little surprised he didn't totally melt down after the long El Caballo RBI-single though
  19. Yeah, walking Ortiz is a bad, bad omen Hadn't heard they were doing a new Major League movie until the Astros announcers said that Ueck told them that last night
  20. Alright, love seeing the big man chug! Hopefully later today my fantasy of seeing Prince and Nelson barrel along the basepaths together comes true! Hopefully pitching with the lead helps Manny a bit here this time.
  21. The Astros announcers (how is it I've been stuck with their feed all three games this series?) sounded like they're licking their chops at the idea of getting off the schneid by facing Manny, who's had his problems there (and this year so far, obviously).
  22. I should add that twice at AT&T Park, I've been serenaded with the Laverne and Shirley theme song...once when the Brewers' weren't playing and I was just wearing the cap. It was done in complete fun though. I reminded them that one Mr. Arthur Fonzarelli had my back.
  23. Sorry you had a hard time there Interesting where you get it. I never thought the Houston fans would have an issue with the Brew Crew (although they seemed to start hating Cam like Cards' fans do Billy Hall), nor have I heard a lot about them as hecklers. The Brewers, having no true natural enemies (we're still about third on Cubs' fans' list of most hated teams), have not provided me with too many opportunities to get well and truly heckled when I've seen them on the road. A few Giants' fans took umbrage with the Brewers' fans in my section during the late innings of the last game of a sweep here in SF last year (to be fair, our fans were kinds rubbing it in their faces, which I thought was unnecessary), one Padre fan pointedly asked me what there was to do in Milwaukee (he was a toothless redneck, so what can I say), and a group of teenagers in Toronto chanted "Brewers Suck!" after me in a pretty harmless fashion as I walked into the Rogers Centre a few years back, but that is pretty much it. I also have never really been given a hard time at Wrigley. I'm not saying you did anything wrong in Houston, but I often believe it's a get what you give kinda thing. Like you presumably do, I always try and remember I'm the guest--if only Cubs' fans would do the same at MP.
  24. I don't understand why Julio's still here; I'm just hoping and assuming that Hoffman's presence means we'll see less of him regardless.
