  1. You know what? This team has won 90 games with six to go and lead their division by 5. I'm convinced they belong in the playoffs whether the Cards and Brewers both lose their next two or not.
  2. Well, they are becoming the Miami Marlins, no quotes...maybe there's hope for the fullscale change. Can't believe a team that's won two titles has such problems. Anyway, save for the lettering of "Marlins," I actually like it myself.
  3. No comment here other than my usual bemoaning of no interleague West Coast games. I'm sure the Brewers are happy with that though.
  4. I have pretty much zero anxiety about the division (get back to me if the Cards take 3 of 4 from the Phillies)...the playoffs are another story. The Brew Crew clinched a losing record against the Phils tonight for the season, as they have for the the two probables. The Phillies look like their big-spending AL East brethren. Makes me kinda sick.
  5. http://robsholty.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/chickenlittle.jpg "Who cares that the Brewers won 4 in a row right before this while the Cards dropped three of four?! Here it comes!"
  6. They've played better than the Brewers over a four game stretch.
  7. Cards fans are having an absolute twitterdammerung right now, and it's kinda ugly; a lot of violent stuff and a few n-words. That said, Morgan's tweets were pretty childish. Still, I think the majority of the "scrum" rests on Pujols running across the field to confront him.
  8. I agree; they really seem to be turtling. That stretch where they went 15-5 and lost a couple games in the standings had to have been disheartening.
  9. I'd gone to a few there when I lived there. There's a bus that heads down that way but I'd just walk from the Roosevelt station if I remember correctly
  10. Reminiscent of Coco blowing it back in Texas in '07
  11. If a local or divisional team is not playing, they should show the best team. The Brewers are the best team of those six (plus they're playing the team from the biggest market in the country). Man do I hate Fox Saturday baseball.
  12. I just had so much fun the past couple hours emailing a good Cubs-fan friend of mine back in Chicago about this game. Hey Chicago, whaddaya say...?
  13. Every Cubs fan I know is actively rooting for the Brewers over the Cards to win the division, too. Besides that, it's not really rubbing their face in anything: they've won a few division titles the last decade; we haven't one won since I was in 2nd grade.
  14. I think it's really interesting how so many fans vividly remember that loss -- even though after it ended, the Brewers led by 6.5 games and won 13-4 the next afternoon. I still remember where I was -- and how crappy I felt the rest of that day. If anything, it was the first pennant race gut punch loss for Brewers fans in a long, long time. Yeah, I was following along at work and I pretty much had to get up from my desk and go walk around a bit after that one--I remember being very thankful at the least that I didn't live in Chicago anymore at least for that day. The following year, I put a hole in my door while watching this game (which is still there; I actually stopped watching for a few days because I felt I was getting too torn up watching them fumble it away). Everything about it seemed like the Ramirez Walkoff Homer II, but thankfully the story had a happier ending in '08.
  15. I remember everything about that gutshot Brewers loss at Wrigley, probably the worst gutshot outside Game 7 of the '82 WS, even though it was the middle of the year. I knew it was over for the young streaking Brew Crew pretty much then and there, although I was well and truly devastated when they got swept in SF by a bad Giants' team the next month. I have a really hard time seeing a similar meltdown this year--the Cards have a tougher schedule and the Brewers are just better this year, which I don't think I could say in '07 in comparison to that Cubs' team over the haul. While I'm impressed by how hot they are, and I'm loving watching it, I hate to admit that overall I'm not too particularly surprised they're in this specific standing like I was in '07--if anything I expected them to be neck-and-neck with the Reds right now.
  16. Marco Estrada and YuniB combine for the win...?...!
  17. Is there an eye-roll emoticon? Oh wait, there it is http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif Anyway, sure would've been nice if the Crew could've pushed at least one of those runs across the last few innings. Especially with our big bats cued up. Ugh. I smell an unnerving inning from K-Rod ahead.
