  1. Astrid Kirchherr, Stuart Sutcliffe's betrothed I've always had the hots for her
  2. Exactly, stuff like this unfortunately happens now and again. Tonight's misplay doesn't mean defensive replacements are a bad idea or that Cameron's been bad in the outfield this season, as you'd seem to think from all the sarcastic Gold Glove comments here.
  3. I'm already chomping at the bit for the potential Netherlands-Spain match France and Italy seem like birds of a feather: older than the hills in some aspects and some questionable choices for the squad by the coaches (would've liked to have seen Trezegeut for France...would've made them even older of course but he's been pretty good the last couple years still and Gomis doesn't seem to be the answer yet) Should be a good one with them next Tuesday, winner take all I'd imagine
  4. Yeah, I totally predicted today's results. Wow, what a crazy day. Friday should be really interesting: it's almost certain that one of France and Italy won't go through.
  5. Wow, my parents live in Ontario; I didn't realize all that was going on out there
  6. France looks like garbage so far
  7. Sounds like you've kept it up much better than Simmons! He never mentions Tottenham any more
  8. I just can't imagine who thought they were gonna make money on Big Brown yesterday
  9. How could such a pins-and-needles game be so boring? Ah well, I'll take it
  10. Hee-hee-hee, hoooooo boy Phew! Man, the Brew Crew wants to give this one away but the Rockies don't seem to want to take it
  11. I suppose the difference between Fulham and the Brewers is Fulham's owner could buy the Brewers 50 times over I'd be even more frustrated as a longtime Fulham fan
  12. Fulham's my default these days since they always seemed liked the Milwaukee of the London teams. Add in Clint Dempsey and the fact they actually sort of revere McBride there and I'm there Beautiful park at the Cottage, too
  13. When I see a Triple Crown winner finally (I was way too young for Alydar in '78...at least for Wisconsin)...I want the horse to be mostly without baggage. This one seemed to have piles of it.
  14. He seemed old as the hills to me even as a child (b. 1975), but I always loved listening to him RIP Mr. McKay "They're gone, they're all gone..."
  15. Owner was a majorly arrogant jerk, punters who bet a lot on him to win today were clueless (to be kind), I cannot stand the Belmont atmosphere, the fields were weak, it's hard to celebrate a Crown when the Derby's Place horse was euthanized on the track, to say the least... Yeah, I'm glad he lost
  16. Hey guys, I'm a casual fan (which is to say I enjoy it more than 95% of Americans). I watched the SUI/CZE second as well, but what I'm really looking forward to is Group of Death action starting on Monday My best friend in Florida is a big France fan and I'm going to be heading out down there this weekend so we'll be able to catch the big matches with the Dutch and the Azzuri. Allez Les Bleus!
  17. Yes, let's trade Billy low; teach that ingrate a lesson!!!
  18. I've definitely sunk more money into them than they deserved over the years (During the Golden 80s my parents were picking up the tabs!)
  19. Glad I left after the bottom of the 2nd after all, uff da I don't want to say Yosted any more than need be since this def. is on Bush and the bats, but I was wondering at the time (and hindsight has bore out) why on Earth Bush was batting with 1 out and two men on after his 1st inning performance. Like people said, Villy made 10 pitches last night and we've had a string of quality starts...go after those runs and the win!
  20. I know, I'm full of it...I did come close to really turning it off after Bush hit into that DP though Regardless, he has not looked good tonight at all...I'd prefer he didn't bat again but not at the cost of more Rockies' runs
  21. Win of the year if they come back and take this one Aw, who am I kidding? G'night guys, I'm gonna go watch a movie
  22. That was my issue with it, I didn't have a huge problem with Villy coming out; I was really grossed out (but not surprised) that Mota saw Helton, as were the Rockies' announcers. As it turned out, Shouse gave up the meatball anyway but the situation might've been a lot different.
  23. A middling rightie we've never seen before...uh oh
