    According to Stark, the Brewers have been looking at Colon-types in AAA...apparently went after Julian Tavarez the past week, too.

    I knew he'd been much better than last year, but I didn't know he was the best. I love him for his hustle and play-discipline and professionalism alone, and I can also imagine he's a great leader...I knew he'd be better than Johnny at throwing out runners (despite the guffaws of my Cub fan friends), but this is a really pleasant surprise.

    It's funny but also kinda annoying how this is becoming a national joke now; Jim Rome just said the Milwaukee Fire Department is looking for reinforcments against the Brewers bullpen

    I read the news today, oh boy.... I gotta say I didn't see this coming, simply given Braun's seeming proclivity to warm weather and bigger cities, but am very happy it has. The one question I have is how this will affect Prince and his attitude towards the team.

    I don't buy that the "icing" had any effect whatsoever, just merely stating that if Torre was indeed trying to "ice" Mota, ned didn't help by making a scene about it

    It'll already backfired tonight...Ned gave it much more weight than he should've and REALLY broke Mota's "rhythm" or whatever by standing out there for a minute or so jawing. Nothing bush league about it.

    Lincecum is going absolutely nowhere (people out here think the Giants can compete again starting next year) and it makes no sense to trade the position player prospects we'd have to trade to get Tiny Tim and that crazy motion of his....I'd be willing to bet he's a wreck down the road. I still think a much more realistic and sensible option is going for Maddux this year and then resigning Ben next year

    The point is that he only skill that Gwynn has that isn't duplicated on the team is his speed. If you are never going to use him to pinch run than get a real bat up here. I knew your point, it was just a separate comment.
