  1. The Brewers would get no-hit by Nelly Olsen the way they are playing Or an Olsen Twin
  2. Helms in the game, apparently solely for salt-rubbing purposes On what planet is he a defensive substitution
  3. Something tells me that at some point this season, we're gonna have to find out. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  4. St-st-st-st-Stetter I really like this guy (save for Pence's jack the other day, but that game was lost anyway)
  5. Let's give our offense credit. It was an 8 pitch inning.
  6. I'd like to think that Riske's work will translate into something positive at the plate, but I somehow doubt it (a la Stetter a couple Sundays ago)
  7. Another five-inning outing from our SP What happened to Soup being an innings-eater? Mind you, if that's how they're going to be eaten, maybe we're better off this way
  8. Suppan's breaking down for the evening
  9. Jason Kendall's tonight's Brewers player of the game with two, count 'em, two walks
  10. Mmmmmm, put some roasted peppers and garlic aioli on that and I will join you! The roasted peppers and garlic aioli I can do...the rest, I'd rather eat my dusty old ballcap
  11. It's probably why ole Nedley doesn't want to mix it up and risk getting tossed from games; why give Simmons any more help getting the next Brewers' skipper job than he already is?
  12. Yeah, I feel like I'm better off staying a little late at work tonight I don't want to say Game Over, but I will say I will eat a caper-and-eggplant salad for lunch tomorrow if they win
  13. 1/3 of the Brewers' offensive innings are done in this game and it's like they never even happened
  14. Heh, the Brewers seem dispirited even on Gameday
  15. Well, that inning couldn't have ended any better than it did. By the time Ramirez got Soup up to nine pitches, I expected the three-run jack
  16. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/img/v3/12-05-2004.fraley_05spo.IMG.GBB1G8VTK.1.jpg "Bawk! Sky's falling, sky's falling!Bawk!"
  17. That was very badly written and/or edited: quotes out of context, abrupt sentences, etc. That said, I don't have too much issue with what was said other than the Chicken Little aspect of it. He didn't seem to indicate the positives, making it seem like these are indeed permanent issues unless the team vaguely "rights the ship." Here's a direct link.
  18. My vent is having to hear Astros fans crow in that chat after their team's sweep this weekend (as is their right)...they think the Astros actually have a chance this year.
  19. I know it's not quantifiable, but I don't think he's been worth $10M "Milwaukee Dollars" either That's not to say that he won't have been worth it when the year's over, of course.
  20. I'm not even sure this is worthy of a response, but let's not do this. Gagne did get jobbed today, though, and I do agree that he hasn't been as bad as the numbers or even the results bear out. That said, he hasn't exactly been a $10M closer, either.
  21. He was squeezed badly today, and now we can confirm that the scouting report is definitely out: just stay patient with Gagne 2.0. Either he'll be all over or you can at least hope for the call. The Astros swung less in the 9th today than any other time this series and they still got the tie, though the game should've ended twice before that.
  22. I gotta say, I do love all the other baseball at my fingertips from across the country (I got to watch that SD-COL 22-inning game, etc.) and I do love seeing the Brewers, but man, what a disappointing slate of Brewers' games so far. Opening Day Tuesday's Cubs game and that Fielder HR off Hamels are the few really good ones I've been able to watch here out West that I wouldn't have been able to otherwise; the others seem to be these gut-punch games (Cincinnati, the entire Houston series). It's one thing seeing the Brewers coughing games up from the comfort of your home; it's another to pay for the privilege!
  23. They had some bad miscues on the top banner today; including putting two outs up when there was only one and leaving it up there for a couple minutes, etc. Stuff like that annoys me and dredges up my superstitious side.
  24. The Brewers lost this game for a lot of reasons, but this is one of the rare times I feel the lion's share rests on blue: Blum was out, Berkman was out, game over in the 9th. Disgusting. It goes both ways, I know, but ugh. To make matters worse, this is one of those days where my Brewers' Obsession butts into real life--all afternoon my wife was shelling and cutting up vegetables and working on a soup, and she served it to me with one out and Erstad at bat in the bottom of the ninth. As the tying run gets walked in, she asks me, "How do you like it?" "It's good, but I don't know if I can eat this Bad Luck Soup any longer," I answer with a light smile on my face but really only half-joking. Silent treatment for a while there, amigos. Ugh. On to Miami.
