I saw Black play 3B when he was at AA Biloxi two years ago & he looked fantastic. He had decent range & a strong arm. He made all the plays that came to the hot corner. I left town impressed & excited that he may be able to help the Brewers at 3B in the future. Unlike many on this board, I am not as familiar with all the analytics & data that suggests he is not capable of playing there. As a lifelong baseball fan using my eyes only - Black was a man among boys that weekend. The only other player who stood out to me was Jefferson Quero. Both he & Black were exceptional. I would be thrilled if Black somehow won the job or at least was part of a 3B rotation. Hopefully, he can play adequate defense & hit well enough to get regular playing time in 2025.

If Detroit signs Alex Bregman to play 3B, they could become a trade partner with Milwaukee. Are any of these young players worth trading for? Matt Vierling, Zach McKinstry, Andy Ibáñez, & Jace Jung They may also be open to moving 1B Spencer Torkelson who doesn’t have a position (unless he becomes their DH). Colt Keith is moving to 1B to make room for Gleyber Torres at 2B.

I’m happy for him too but I’m not a Burnes fan IMO - he pouted as a Brewer & I always preferred Woody to Burnes personality wise And … I only like the Brewers 😏

Color me surprised I didn’t know the D’backs were in play for Burnes Now they get to lose to the Dodgers with a bigger payroll - but I admire their spunk The NL West is loaded

I was indeed wondering (curious as to the opinion of those in this forum) if Burke may be overlooked & a potential surprise candidate to make the big league roster sooner than expected with a big 2025 season. As a lifelong Tennessee Volunteers fan, my hope is he rises quickly & becomes a longterm solution at 1B for the Brewers.

What’s the latest on Blake Burke’s health & potential timeline for his MLB arrival? Apparently, he was injured & finished the season quietly after a decent start. He was a decent fielder at Tennessee & was the complimentary player who completed the Burnes trade. Does he have a big league future? I never see his name mentioned when considering 2026 & beyond.

So impressed with the Wisconsin football team these past two weeks I didn’t think they would improve this dramatically so quickly - especially after the Alabama & USC losses I have hope in their future after the last two games The schedule gets much more challenging in the next six weeks - hopefully they continue to improve & win their share of games
