  1. Should we be counting on Cousins & Topa for bullpen in 2023? It seems injuries this year kept them from contributing. Hopefully both are healthy & able to add value next season.
  2. Jansen would be a significant upgrade, no doubt … I fear it may cost us Wiemer though
  3. One other item … I hope Esteury Ruiz is on the 26-man roster for his speed & versatility
  4. I like Jansen - I read that he did not hit LH pitching well & that is a huge concern with current team … I haven’t checked to verify if that is true … I also prefer to hang onto prospects & I believe Vasquez is a free agent
  5. I would prefer Christian Vasquez (C) over Jansen … & I’d like a two-year deal with Justin Turner (3B & 1B) … I also like Payton Henry as the backup … trade Caratini & Huira … keep Toro for utility … good team! Hopefully, Guerra & one of the Angels trade arms help the bullpen.
  6. I fear Milwaukee may have missed out on their best opportunity to “unload” Ethan Small in a trade at this year’s deadline His low velocity coupled with his lack of control (leading to far too many walks) will keep him from making an impact for the Brewers at the big league level I dont see him getting any better Wish we had traded him & a few other minor leaguers for a decent bat

  8. I hope he goes to a different eye doctor than Joe Gray
  9. I hope he got some advice from Ryan Braun this weekend regarding hitting lefties
  10. I’m glad to keep Severino in our minor league system as a potential “bat” & backup catcher for 2023 His story is quite sad - the 80-game ban & inability to join us if we make the playoffs Hopefully, he will rake next year
  11. At least we don’t have his salary on our books any more
  12. I was disappointed in the Lamet DFA … but not sure he could add any value this year - especially with his injury history I’m delighted Colorado took his salary Only time will tell - 2023 & 2024 - if Ruiz & Gasser pan out & this becomes another Stearns “magic” trade with San Diego I remember when early on the Grisham & Davies for Urius & Lauer trade was considered lopsided for San Diego I believe that was a GREAT trade for the Brewers & will only get better in the next few years Here’s hoping the same will one day be said for the most recent trade
  13. Since he wasn’t traded, he should DH against RH starters
  14. My thoughts exactly … I assume an oversight on the 5-year mark … otherwise the complimentary remarks about Lamet from both Stearns & Counsell are disingenuous
  15. I’m a tad embarrassed … all my friends know of my love for the Brewers … I have no answers for basic questions … these whacky decisions are indefensible There are 5-7 guys on the 40-man roster I would DFA over Lamet … I’m completely stunned by the Rosenthal trade & the Lamet DFA I do understand the Severino decision … I honestly believe the Brewers tried to trade Narvaez & couldn’t get what they wanted so they “finally” dropped Severino Not our best week … especially with Burnes losing to the hapless Pirates & Hader getting the victory last night on a Grisham walkoff HR
  16. I hate this topic heading - Hiura “slighted & demoted” I don’t want to see this topic at the top of the MLB thread I completely disagree with the idea that he was slighted … he’s been terrible for the better part of three years with a massive strikeout rate He did hit the ball fairly well for a few weeks before his recent well-deserved demotion Hopefully, this is a moot point in two days - I’d love to see him get a fresh start elsewhere in a trade The last thing I want to see is Hiura hang around so we can hope for a better 2023 He is what he is … a poor defensive player with some pop who may never live up to his potential (based of draft position) Yes, he had a great rookie season … pitchers adjusted - he has not done so in response
  17. How about Hiura & a top 20-30 pitcher for Bell

  19. No thank you No thank you No thank you No thank you No thank you No thank you Not sure Laureano is the CF we need … especially if it involves Frelick, Mitchell, Lutz, Quero, Turang & certainly not Chourio in return Hoping we don’t drain the prospect talent for a mediocre return I would be okay with a few players being traded - Gray comes to mind … maybe even Small … but I want to see some of our home grown talent make it to Milwaukee in the next few years

  21. I’d like for Hiura to get a fresh start elsewhere … maybe in the potential trade with Washington for Bell Hiura would play everyday in Washington & maybe become a solid bat for them THere is no room for what he brings in Milwaukee … by that I mean his HIGH strikeout rate & poor defense no matter where he plays
  22. Any chance Wiemer or Frelick get a bump to Nashville as part of this shuffle?

  24. How is this shocking? Sad, maybe … but predicted & requested by most rational Brewers fans It makes sense that management waited until his 10th anniversary in the bigs - almost an agreed upon time for his release Great guy, but the Brewers improved with this transaction Whether or not Davis is the long term solution it makes sense that he gets first opportunity before the trade deadline in six weeks
