  1. I was hoping for a great outing from Misiorowski tonight, but I can’t say I’m surprised by this early result. I read an article where he appeared to be quite nonchalant … “I don’t prepare for an opponent - I just prepare myself” … which I guess means - “I throw the ball really fast & hope the other guys can’t hit it hard.” He’s young & incredibly talented, but he isn’t a great pitcher yet (like Woodruff). That’s to be expected. He looks to be in over his head against this superior Cubs lineup. I hate that he was lined up to start this important series. Could be a long & disappointing evening. I’ve been anticipating this series for a few weeks. This is a terrible start.
  2. Adds power? Isn’t he like 3rd on Brewers team behind Yeli & Chourio? Maybe behind Hoskins too.
  3. Okay … now you have to … looks like a great trade for a good not great minor leaguer who has several other players above him in route to the bigs
  4. What a disappointing series for the Brewers They aren’t as good as their record They can’t afford to lose numerous games to under .500 teams & expect to be competitive in the playoffs You would never know this team is in first place by watching this series or their last against Miami
  5. This is indeed fascinating & true. Here’s hoping we begin a hot streak today as we prepare for the Cubs series.
  6. That was a great defensive play by Yelich! He has good instincts in LF … his issue has always been a weak arm defensively.
  7. I love the original Bock “M” caps the Brewers are wearing in this series. Unfortunately, we are playing like the 1970 Milwaukee team. We need a win today before the Cubs series.
  8. I’m a lifelong sports fan … but I’ve never watched a soccer match - live or on TV. I wasn’t even aware that “a” soccer match was being played today … much less “the” soccer match. I assume it is a big deal - but I’m clueless. Same applies to hockey - although I did go to one professional hockey game when I lived in Houston many years ago. I’m not interested in either sport. I didn’t let my kids play soccer or hockey … only baseball, football, basketball, tennis, & golf. 🤓
  9. Yelich scorched that ball. Like yesterday with Durbin’s deep fly ball to the warning track, that ball would have been a HR last year. Apparently, according to an article I read last week, fly balls travel 4’ shorter on average this year.
  10. Yes, the owner of the site has the right to do as he pleases. That said, we are 105 games into the season & it doesn’t appear this particular question will gain any traction.
  11. I hope Frelick is well. I’d prefer to see him in there instead of Yelich … both for offense & defense. Yelich has looked bad recently at the plate. He could use a day off. Hopefully, he begins a new hot streak today … but my confidence level is quite low.
  12. Isn’t the purpose of a poll to have forum users participate? You are one of many who scrolls past this redundant question game after game. Your reply only confirms that my thoughts are accurate … it is an unnecessary & useless poll if this is the only question that is asked each game.
  13. I’ve been checking each day to see if anyone other than Treego has participated in this “annoying” daily poll. It certainly doesn’t appear to get much attention & simply takes up space. Am I the only one who is bothered by this particular question? I do like the idea of a “fun” daily poll … but this is not that IMO. 😏
  14. We cannot get swept by the Marlins. That would undo much of the progress & momentum we gained by our recent hot streak. Hopefully, Woody remains awesome & Milwaukee rights the ship before hosting the Cloun$sell-led Cubbies for three games.
  15. Not sure anyone reads in this particular forum, but I found this article on Apple News & thought it was excellent. Personally, I haven’t had a beer (or any alcohol) in over 40 years … but Milwaukee is often known for its breweries - thus the team nickname of Brewers. If you have some time, please read this article & share your thoughts. As a former (high school & college) newspaper editor, I appreciate good short stories … especially those that are historical in nature. https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a65466008/beer-war-scandal-schlitz-budweiser/
  16. I prefer the young guys … Chad Patrick had very few poor outings. Logan Henderson was stellar in his four starts. Tobias Myers is healthy & able to start. I’m not as fond of Carlos Rodriguez. As for the veterans … Brandon Woodruff has been excellent - hope he continues to go six & stay healthy. Nestor Cortes had one horrid start & one excellent start. I don’t trust him to be healthy to the end of the season. Jose Quintana is up & down but hasn’t been crisp in several starts recently.
  17. This was somewhat predictable but certainly disappointing. A team playing over its skis getting humbled & reminded that it needs to bring its “A game” everyday or it will get pounded by its opponent. Embarrassing effort all around. And it would be much worse if not for Stowers defensive miscue that led to two gift runs last inning.
  18. Good grief. We need a double play. Quintana is not good enough to get four outs in an inning.
  19. We need a quality veteran short inning from Quintana. Maybe he will look attractive to a pitching needy team.
