Getting swept in Pittsburgh … both games very winnable While our record is amazing, this team isn’t playing well as we come to the break I hate to end the first half without momentum The future (as in beyond 2026) looks promising … I’m curious to see what the CBA negotiations do for Milwaukee

Again, this decision by Murphy is questionable. Vaughn has less power due to hamate bone being removed. He’s slower & poor defensively. Ortiz crushed his last at bat.

Another reason I don’t want the Brewers to “go big” at the trade deadline: Why trade away top prospects (5-6 years of control) for a short-term arm or bat IF Murphy continues to shove Yelich out there to leadoff as our DH. That decision alone will keep the Brewers from getting past NL contenders (especially the Dodgers) - no matter who we acquire via trade.

There is also a chance that Yelich can’t see that he is not a good hitter anymore … thus, the manager, has to have the conversation. Either way, if there isn’t a change, Arnold must step in & suggest a change.

What a waste of time to devote multiple hours to a team featuring Yelich as a leadoff hitter. You would never know we are 59-35 by watching today’s games. I love this team, but I hate bad baseball … & we gave the first game away. Now we’re in a position to get swept in Pittsburgh. It didn’t have to be this way, Murphy.

Can’t be worse than what we’ve seen recently from Yelich. We all know that Jones should not be on the roster (either) … but he has as good a chance to scald one as this version of Yelich.

Murphy can defend his decision, but it was a terrible decision to start Yelich in this game after what we saw in Game 1 … as well as in June & July so far.

I’m seething every time Yelich approaches the batter’s box. How foolish to shove him out there when we are close to the break. Rest may help him … playing both games in a double header is foolish & hurts the team.

There were several writers who like Drohan more than Harrison when the trade with the Red Sox took place. He appears to be a solid rotation piece for years to come. I certainly like him more than Sproat.

Yelich is becoming Brewers version of Chris Davis with the Orioles a few years ago. If the only reason you are playing often is because of your contract, that’s a problem.

Yeah … thanks … I’m 65 years old & I follow baseball closely. It would be worth it to open a roster spot … like the Bucks did with Lillard. There are several healthy young players who could match or exceed Yelich’s at bats for league minimum salaries.

But there is no such thing as a contract with a “no release / DFA” clause. That would be best for all parties in the offseason if Yelich is unwilling to be traded (with Milwaukee paying a huge portion of his contract). I’d rather have a young, upcoming player promoted from the minors to take his spot on the roster. I’m sure it will never happen, but one can dream.

I took a short break before returning to watch Game 2. I was “shocked” to see that Murphy once again chose to bat Yelich leadoff. That level of stubbornness grates on my last nerve. Now, hopefully my rant is settling us up for a career day by former MVP Yelich to prevent a double header sweep by these pesky Pirates.

I certainly hope the clock is (has been) ticking. The sooner the better for me. There are better options available for the DH role. If Yelich had another injury (certainly not something I want to see), I believe we would fare much better with those who replace his at bats. An offseason release for Yelich would benefit both parties. Eat the remaining salary much like the Bucks did with Dame Lillard. Give his DH role to younger, healthier, better players.
