  1. Wait, what? Fox Sports Wisconsin is now run by a casino? If the Brewers have their games carried on a casino channel I'm out no matter what platform they run on.
  2. It's an odd numbered year so I think the Brewers will be fine with Sogard at 3B. I think we can count on 2-3 WAR from him. And the bonus is that he'll come very cheap.
  3. If you look at Schilling's BRef page, his Hall of Fame Monitor has him above the level of an AVERAGE Hall of Famer by nearly every metric. Schilling's body of work on a baseball field absolutely makes him Hall of Fame worthy.
  4. These deals are starting to age about as well as convenience store sushi.
  5. Have you had personal dealings with Cohen? You seem to constantly be agitated by the guy. Curious.
  6. The Cubs released a statement and the answer is no. Based on the reporting to this point it would appear the only person who knew about this other than Porter and the person to whom the texts were sent was an employee of the company the recipient worked for.
  7. I came in to post the same thing. I cannot understand how anyone would think sending pictures of an erect penis to someone would be welcomed. People are crazy!
  8. I will be ringing in the new year tomorrow night with some Miller Genuine Drafts. I'll pour out the first sip for my Miller Park.
  9. But for me it's not an extra 10ish bucks because the basic tier for Spectrum doesn't give me the channels I need and get from YTTV (for $68). I'd probably end up paying an extra $25 or more per month. How many hours of recording do you get with the $7.99 box? With YTTV it is unlimited, with the caveat that recordings disappear after 9 months. Which is fine because if I haven't watched something in 9 months I'm not going to watch it.
  10. I pay $68 per month for YTTV for the package that includes the 5 channels I have to have. That price includes all taxes and fees and it allows me unlimited recording for 9 months and I can cancel at any time with no penalty. I watch nearly all of my TV on my laptop or my phone so streaming is essential. Rarely, I will stream my YTTV through my regular TV. Doing a check of Spectrum I will have to choose the Silver package to get the channels I need. That will cost $75 per month, which does not include taxes, cable box fees, DVR fees, set-up fees, and whatever other fees they throw in (and they always do). I don't know if that was $75 per month for one year or two, but I really don't care because their website was a nightmare to navigate so I'm not wasting my time searching for their fine print terms and conditions. I won't bother because their rock bottom price is already $7 more expensive than YTTV and I'm certain it would end being way more than YTTV once you add in all the extra fees. Spectrum is a no go. If YTTV doesn't offer FSN I won't be watching Brewers games on TV this year.
  11. I guess if you don't like championship level teams then sure. We follow the Brewers though so maybe there is some truth in that. Championship regular season, yes. Unfortunately in the NBA the regular season is the equivalent of spring training in baseball or pre-season in football. Counsell's Brewers will win a World Series before the Bucks ever win an NBA title again. Which is the same thing people said about the Dodgers.
  12. I don't know what the complaints are for. "Soup pitched great."
  13. If YTTV offered FSN at a rate somewhere in the $5-$10 per month range I would gladly pay it. But I'm not giving up YTTV and going back to cable just for Brewers games. I don't follow basketball so thankfully missing Bucks games is not a problem for me. If YTTV doesn't offer FSN at all I will not be watching the Brewers on TV. Since I will have MLB.tv I'll still have lots of baseball to watch.
  14. I think you are overestimating the number of people who must have regional sports. The reason that streaming services are dropping regional sports is because the cost exceeds the number of people who demand them.
  15. I'm waiting to see what will happen with YouTubeTV. They have dropped Sinclair/FSN for now. I also get MLB.tv but I'm certain Brewers games will still be blacked out for me. Personally, I'm done cable/streaming hopping to get the Brewers. If Sinclair can't get a deal done with YouTubeTV and the games are blacked out on MLB.tv, I will not be watching Brewers games anymore.
  16. Like many, I did not like the Claudio trade from the start. And it turns out it the Brewers got very little value for it. I realize the draft is lottery, but that's exactly why you need as many lottery tickets as possible.
  17. I'm not a Mets fan so I will decline your offer.
  18. I know this with certainty: 1. The Brewers were minutes away from non-tendering Knebel and getting nothing in return. 2. The pitcher the Brewers received from the Dodgers is good enough to earn a roster spot on one of their minor league teams. 3. #2 above is better than nothing. I will avoid proclaiming Crawford to be "a nice pickup," "a rotation piece," "just a guy," or "organizational filler." The Brewers got something of value rather than nothing, which is a win.
  19. How do you now that? If you want to tell me I have no proof that owners are plowing their own money into their teams I will confess to that. But the accountants on this board, like you, make the opposite argument with no proof. I have a good friend who owns two companies (with two other partners), both national. I'm certain you've heard of one of these companies. The one you would know is doing well despite COVID. The other is not. Rather than pare back production for the company that is losing money, or lay people off until things turn around, the partners have capitalized the second company from their profits and cash reserves of the first. This is hardly a novel idea. It happens all the time. If you all want to act as Mark A.'s public relations flack, have at it. But this offseason of stepping back (and you all know it's coming) is tiresome. I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. /rant
  20. There isn't an owner in the league who's pouring buckets of their own cash into a team to be used as player costs. You don't know that. Every team has closed books. And there are reports that Steve Cohen intends to do exactly that with the Mets. I'm truly astonished that this fan message board sounds more like a group of accountants who assiduously defend Mark A's money.
  21. My thoughts? I need to follow a different team because the Brewers are not interested in being a serious World Series contender. I'm sick and damn tired of this. And don't give me, "the team has made the playoffs three years in a row." 2020 was a joke of a year and the Brewers were in the playoffs due to a cash grab expanded playoffs. And now the team is moving backwards. Was there someone specific out of Knebel, Claudio, Gamel, or Peterson that you’re upset they parted ways with? If not, it seems a little premature to be outraged over the payroll until we see who they add to the roster over the remainder of the offseason. None of the players they non-tendered yesterday are likely going to make the difference on determining whether they can compete for a World Series. Knebel for starters. But it's not just that. It's that we know how this movie is going to end. Keep the payroll low. We lost a lot of money in 2020. We don't know how many fans we'll have in 2021. Mark A. lives on a compound in California estimated at $50 million. Time to spend some of that money on the Brewers (assuming Brewers cash flow is low at the time due to COVID) or sell the team to someone who will. Do you think Mets fans are looking at 2020 financials right now?
  22. How long have you been a Brewer fan? Welcome to cheering for a small market club. Ebbs and flows is basically how it works. Since 1978. When I was 8 years old. Losing a World Series in 1982 is the height of my fandom. Cut me some slack. Please.
  23. This is a collectively bargained issue. Owners are not going to agree to a DH in the NL in 2021 for nothing. Nor should they. It would appear whatever concession the owners want has not be agreed to. So there will be no DH in the NL for 2021. It's as simple as that.
  24. Are you outside of the Brewers' media market? I get MLB.tv so it looks like I'll get every game this year EXCEPT those being played by the Brewers.
  25. I have Youtube TV. If they don't offer Brewers games on their platform in 2021 I will no longer be watching Brewers games. There is a zero percent chance I am going back to cable TV.
