    19 is too low for sure. Still missing a legit option at 1B and 3B though, unless they think they can move one of our many SS to 3B.

    Taking 3 of 4 vs STL means we only gain one game in the standings, correct? Anything less than 4 wins does us no good at all. That way we gain 4 games.

    I don't see the difference in where these guys play if they are all 3 going to play everyday anyway. If we do Adames at 3B, Turang at SS, and Urias at 2B, it's no different than Adames at SS, Urias at 3B and Turang at 2B offensively. There is no difference offensively, and I don't see there being much of a difference defensively either. Adames would have to learn a new position at 3B, so if anything, that might weaken the D. I just don't think Urias is anything more than a guy you can plug in on off days for regular players, assuming we ever sign a true 3B with power. I think we tend to get attached to these guys, and it allows us to put up with or ignore faults. Urias hasn't proven to be a regular everyday starter, and I'm not sure that will ever happen, which is why I'd rather see him take over the super sub position and we go look for a real 3B via trade.

If this is the best we can get to play CF for the rest of this year and the next two, I'm passing hard! Having this guy block Frelick in 2024 and possibly 2023 at some point disgusts me.

    Olson and Henry still could be guys we wish we had back, especially for what we got back for them. Lopez is the obvious choice for best player we've traded imo.

    The thought of trading any of our stud farm hands for a rental scares me to death. I simply do not view this team as a world series contender without adding 2-3 real-live-actual stud bats, plus at least one stud bull pen arm to this line-up. I do not think there is one player out there who can push us to that level offensively.

    Just found this little nugget. If the Yankees are "serious" contenders, I doubt we are. The vax thing could improve our chances, but I highly doubt the mighty Yankees would let that deter them from getting a guy they want. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Yankees have emerged as "serious contenders" to acquire Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi. The 28-year-old All-Star continues to draw interest from a variety of teams and looks increasingly likely to be dealt before the trade deadline. Benintendi is unvaccinated though and would not be able to travel to Toronto for the Yankees three-game set against the Jays in September -- or in any potential playoff matchup.
