  1. Regardless of reasoning, I’m shocked Frelick is not in the line-up.
  2. Ummm, then I am assuming you are just kidding. :)
  3. I'd rather just have them trade Burns now rather than wait another year and diminish our return. I think it is a foredrawn conclusion that there isn't a chance in hell we can resign Burnes. To be honest, same with Adames. We would be hurting without them, but to maximize return, the sooner the better.
  4. Except I don't think that is going to happen. I think Yelich will still be our full time LF, and might DH 1 or 2 times per week max. I think Hiura is a goner, via trade. Doubt we get much in return, but I think they are going to send him packing. I think Winker was acquired as our normal DH, since he is a liability in the field. He may get occasional starts in the OF, but no way is that going to be a daily thing. As much as I want Hiura to be in the mix, if the plan is to use him like we did last year, there is no point in keeping him around. Trade him to a team that can afford to play him.
  5. Please be Small, please be Small, please be Small.
  6. I'd deal Ruiz in a heartbeat, but I'd keep Frelick, Mitchell, and Wiemer. Wouldn't even allow them to mention the name Chourio. lol
  7. The only way I find this to have any merit is if they are targeting Varsho but as a catcher. Otherwise, seems stupid. Wouldn't surprise me though, we already got one OF this off season (loosely anyway) so adding another one to jam up our outfield would be icing on the cake in weirdness.

  9. Wait, we've improved our pitching this off season?
  10. Wait, we've improved our pitching this off season?
  11. Look, the Brewers had 162 games to prove they were better than the Cardinals, they fell 7 games short. It wasn't even close. The fact that we have people that still think the Brewers were better than the Cardinals in 2022 is a joke. They simply were not.
  12. ok, what does. The final standings are what dictates who moves on in the playoffs. The standings don't account for injuries, luck (good or bad) but the standings do tell you who were the best teams that season. Our 2022 standings tell us the entire story all right, and because you don't want to believe it, it's still true. The Cardinals won 7 more games than we did. They were the better team. That is the entire story.
  13. It's pretty factual actually. Look at the 2022 standings, and it is laid out right in front of you. The Cardinals won 7 more games than we did, it wasn't even close. They were a much better team in 2022, they won 7 more games, and they made the play-offs. It really can't be argued.
  14. As much as you want to believe that's true, it just isn't. Standings reveal the truth.
  15. Problem is, being fine with the above line-up offers no improvement over last year. None. Add that to not having a catcher, and at least 2 rookies in the outfield along with Yelich, that offensive alignment could quite possibly be even worse than last year. (Especially since we lost 2 of our best bats in Renfroe and Wong and have not replaced their offense) We simply need to add a big bat to that infield (3B), and I have almost zero faith that is going to happen.
  16. Your fandom confuses me. lol Who holds your heart, the Twins or Brewers? Seems your thoughts on any kind of trade between the Brewers and Twins would be quite murky and confusing.
  17. an aging vet, as I mentioned in the post...
  18. Imagine the shock, when opening day sees Winker as our starting right fielder, Toro as our starting 3B, and Urias as our starting 2B. Frelick and Turang still in AAA, waiting for their shot, while we run Toro and Winker out everyday, far past the time when they should be replaced. (Yelich continues to be our starting LF, while another aging vet is picked up to DH most days) Negative, yes, possible, also yes. Like another poster mentioned a few pages back, I have lost faith.
  19. Please please please, if handing out warnings for condescension, give the same warnings to all wo do the same thing on a daily basis. I have no horse in this race, but this happens here on the regular, and every once in a while, someone gets a warning, but it is not consistent, and usually, the newer posters get the hammer dropped on them, while the vets are allowed free passes.
  20. All this talk of Yelich and those hard hit balls to the right side of the infield, don't forget the plethora or weakly hit groundballs to the same side. To be honest, I remember a lot more weakly hit ones than hard hit ones.
  21. Huge difference between extending Yelich and extending Burnes. Yelich had not yet played since his season ending knee cap injury. We extended him anyway. Burnes, as far as we know, is 100% healthy. Not the same situation.
  22. The Brewers didn't develop Lauer, and I'd go as far as to say they didn't develop Hader either...
