  1. lol You just had to add the fluff at the end, but thanks for the answer. I'm assuming that your answer is NO, you would not make that trade knowing what we know today. Thanks.
  2. Quick question for all those who continuously support and back every move the Brewers make: (which I believe that sometimes, people do so just to take an opposite view of certain posters, or just to create conflict) Given what we know now, and what transpired after the trade, how many of you still back the Hader trade and think it was a good thing? No fluffy answers, no saying things like "we have to wait 5 years to judge the trade" or "we couldn't afford him anyway, so we had to take the best offer" nothing like that. No indirect or deflecting answers. Knowing what we know right now, and how the season ended for the 22 Brewers team, how many would still make that same exact trade today?
  3. Which Rodriguez? OF or Pitcher?
  4. Which Carlos Rodriguez are you giving away, the pitcher or the outfielder? No way do I give up Wiemer, Garcia and the pitcher for Jansen. Nope. How many of these do you plan to do?
  5. Don't you mean the '22 Brewers?
  6. All that movement before throwing a pitch from Garcia is just ridiculous. That should have been addressed in little league. I'm assuming he does it to throw off the rhythm of the hitter, but if there is a man on base, that must be considered a balk, right?
  7. Most MLB center fielders would have made that catch. Announcers way over played that!! Yeah, it was a nice play, but like I said, MLB CFers make that play 99% of the time or they wouldn't be playing that position.
  8. and I LIKE it!
  9. Can't disagree with this statement. I'm not accusing him of being a lame duck, but if he intends on leaving in another year, then I say part ways now and let the new guy start working.
  10. Listening to Stearns about the trade, he came off as admitting it was a bad trade, even though he didn't actually say it. You are spinning that to your favor if you think anything else. Rogers was struggling big time with the Padres before we got him, and he continued his struggles. Hader is in fact the best reliver in baseball as long as he truly is back to his normal self. He was hitting 100 routinely the past couple of games, and sure looked like he was back to himself. You just can't paint this trade as one thing. Did it knock us out of the playoffs? Quite possibly. In 2 years, once Gasser and Ruiz are determined, could we be a better team at that time? Quite possibly. Simple fact is, right here and now, with a team on the brink of the playoffs in 2022, that trade completely blew butt, and that is what your typical fan will see. Personally, if Ruiz such a great get, and is so coveted around MLB, he is the guy I am looking to trade this off season.
  11. Yeah, I don't think anyone is saying anything of the sort about Grisham any longer.
  12. It would be great, but I don't care to see any team from Philadelphia, in any playoff format, for any sport.
  13. I don't think anyone wanted to pay him the kind of money he will be getting, but I think the general consensus is that we should have gotten more immediate help (a Bat), or kept him until the off season, then traded him. I don't believe that Ruiz is going to be any better than our other 3 (Frelick, Mitchell, and Wiemer) and don't think that adding him to that trade solved a single issue we have. Plus, we have Chourio coming as well. We simply didn't need anymore minor league outfielders when it was obvious what our needs truly were. Gasser I am on board with. Then there is the way that Lamet was handled of course.
  14. Hader being Hader.. I'm rooting for the guy, I know there are probably people who want him to fail to prove their theories right, but he;s a good kid, and a great player! I'm pretty sure the Padres aren't looking back on that trade now! lol
  15. Grisham has been excellent so far in the playoffs! Big HR there!
  16. I like this plan, a LOT, except for the Chapman part. No way Jose. If we went with a Robertson type, he has closing experience this season, maybe use him at closer, and spend that 10 million we would have wasted on Chapman for some more starting depth, or possibly keeping Wong. Maybe flip Laureano for another reliever once Frelick claims a spot on this roster (which I think we all know is going to happen in 2023 if he doesn't break camp with the big squad.) I'm ALL in on getting Rodriguez and Holiday from Baltimore!!! ALL IN!
  17. Wait, you want to trade our best pitcher and quite possibly our best hitter in a package deal to free up money? We aren't going to find a better hitter than Renfroe for 10 million, we just aren't. Unless we are getting players that can step in and start right now, one of which has to replace Renfroe, and be at the very least as good as he was in 2022, we are not going to be better in 2023, in fact, we are talking about a step backwards. No playoffs in 2023 when you remove our ACE pitcher and best hitter, and that mixture of vets you mention isn't going to do much to improve the offense in 2023 either.
  18. If we have to pay Wong 8 million even if we cut him loose, why on earth wouldn't we spend the extra 2 million to keep him? Is this even true? Do we have to pay him 8 million even if we don't resign him?
  19. If we have to pay Wong 8 million even if we cut him loose, why on earth wouldn't we spend the extra 2 million to keep him? Is this even true? Do we have to pay him 8 million even if we don't resign him?
  20. He'll get a LOT more than that. I also feel like he is a bit of a dick, so no thank you.
  21. Imagine the crying that would have went on in the locker room had we dumped both Hader AND Suter within a day of each other? They couldn't handle Hader being gone, both being gone and we'd be hiring 26 therapists. I can't even begin to imagine.
  22. The thing that really bothers me is how we handled Lamet once we got him, not to mention assuming his salary to help out the Padres. That part of the trade absolutely stunk, and made our front office look like jackass fools. I mean, the McGee and Lamet aspect of how things transpired is just plain asinine.
