  1. New York Times has a really nice piece about Julio Teheran. I post a link, but I’m in my truck. And it would probably lead you to a pay wall anyway. But it’s pretty cool so look for it. Pardon the grammar, I dictated this
  2. That's actually much faster than my speed, as I will have to google wRC+ cuz I've naught a clue. But I'm pretty sure that being 22d and 21st is not great in either category.
  3. Well said! I guess that's the point of my question.
  4. Exactly. Were we waiting for Judge or Ohtani to come up?
  5. Is there a stat for "most useless at bats" with RISP? I'd bet we're in the top 5.
  6. Please please PLEASE let us not be the birth of a Mets revival. <pessimism alert>
  7. I confess I'd given up and had decided to watch LSU with son-in-law. After UF hit their 37th home run of the day vs LSU, I was very pleased to check back to see that we pulled this one out!
  8. Uhhh. By "hero" I really just mean someone who is fundamentally solid enough that he won't consistently produce the worst possible result in a given situation
  9. I can't think of a single player who we ever expect to come through in the clutch more times than not. We have no "hero"
  10. You almost need to throw shut-out baseball to get a win with our lineup. 😕
  11. More than anything else: WE (still) NEED HITTERS. Let’s hope for a better result tomorrow. bughghghghgh!
  12. I'm with the crowd who say we need a first baseman. Rowdy consistently fails to impress, (And Tapia sounds like someting on the menu at a Spanish restaurant.)
  13. Yeah. It's hard to say, "We're really good at.........."
  14. It's odd to think that a person could like local commercials for stores or services you'd never be likely to use! But they're interesting because they reveal a lot about a place.
  15. A simple laugh is not enough to show my appreciation for this post. 🤣
  16. Whatever else one can legitimately criticize about the 2023 Crew, we just swept the team that was our immediate division rival for 1st place this week. That can't be all bad. I missed almost all of the game, but I'm going to replay in on MLB audio (without the zillion ads for birddog shorts and blue nile fake diamonds.) 😶
  17. I think I hate baseball now. I went to law school to avoid all of this math! <IRONY ALERT> 😁
  18. Perhaps a valid opinion. But all you need to do is get to the dance.
  19. Not saying this will happen, because things are not at all pretty. But here's a reminder. The 2022 Phillies had a record of 87-75 and finished 3rd in the NL East And yet they.... Won NL Wild Card Series (2-0) over St. Louis Cardinals Won NL Division Series (3-1) over Atlanta Braves Won NL Championship Series (4-1) over San Diego Padres Before losing the World Series to Houston in 6 games I'm not giving up yet; it's only June.
  20. Go figure. Looked really good until it went really really bad. I might vomit. Nah. Tomorrow is another day.
  21. As to other matters: I'm happy for Andreew McCutchen to have a day in his town. He wasn't the guy for us, but he deserves good.
