  1. If you fire him...can I have the job? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. I have to agree with Luke...if its Yankees vs Cubs, I might have to consider bodily harm. I seriously despise both teams and might actually have to go against everything I've stated for the last 10 years and root for the Yankees. I just couldn't bare to watch the Cubs celebrate, not to mention all of the ridiculous media hype they would get. Oh, and giving their loud-mouth fans something real to actually talk about. We'd be hearing about this title for the next 50 years....UGH
  3. So will the Brewers continue to forward mail to the players during the off season?
  4. Just curious, but will the Brewers continue to forward all of the mail from fans to players during the offseason? For example, if I send Braun/Prince something next week, will they actually get it sometime soon or would it just sit around until next season? One other thing I need some help with, if you don't put the pictures in a top loader, how do you keep from it getting dinged? or should i just expect it to be dinged a bit when it comes back? Thanks for your help.
  5. Hey- I have quite the collection of signed 8x10's from many Badgers, Packers and Brewers. I used to go down to autograph Friday almost on a weekly basis to collect pictures, balls etc. Unfortunately as I've gotten a real job this is no longer possible and when I do make it down there, I tend to get something bigger signed (like a bobblehead or a bat). I've looked on ebay but you never really know what you're buying and I have a lot more trust in the BF.net community. I've still managed to get a number of current Brewers on 8x10's through various means but I'm struggling (obviously given who they are) with the following players: Braun Fielder Weeks Gallardo If anybody has any signed 8x10's of any of the above players that they are willing to part with, please let me know. I'm more interested in just purchasing them, but do have a few extra pictures and/or bobbleheads to trade.
  6. Anybody have any more information on this? I'd really like to get another Molitor autograph...are they doing wristbands or anything? I see he's signing in the third base concourse...where exactly in that concourse would he be? Best entrance to go in? What time should I try to get to the stadium...I probably can't get there much before 4...is there even a point in trying?
  7. #1 - Paris Hilton I still can't seem to understand how anybody can actually tolerate this complete waste of a life!! Making me even more mad is the fact that she actually thinks she has fans!!!! #2 - Alex Tribek He infuriates me with this stupid comments, beratting of the contestants and just acting like he's a frickin genius all the time!!! Uh, you have the answers already Alex....pull a Ben Stein and try your own game show, then we'll see what's up. Plus, he's Canadian!! (kidding...kinda, lol) #3 - Peyton Manning I know I might get some grief for this one, but man does this guy just rub me the wrong way. Granted, he's a great player and actually has some funny commercials, but he is such a whiner!! Constantly yelling at the refs, whining like a little school girl. If I see him make that stupid angry face, run down the field and talk to a referee one more time, I might just have to throw something. Not to mention, he stayed in college another year because he didn't want to play for the Jets (my second favorite team). #4 - Ned Yost Ned has me completely convinced this year that he really has no idea how to manage a baseball team, or even a single game effectively for that matter. He has horrible pitching rotation/bullpen management, horrible game insticts and I'm pretty convinced he has single-handidly cost us at least 2-3 games this year. Oh, and why are we the only team in the league that carries 13 pitchers and still manage to wear them all out!!! Grrrr...
  8. The Rockies play great defense about every BUT the Cubs I think. Earlier in the year, Kaz Matsui booted a ground ball with 2 outs in the ninth that would have ended the game...Soriano gets a hit and the Cubs win. Last night, huge mess in the field....thank you very much Rockies!http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/mad.gif
  9. Does anyone else seem to think that Yost plays to his favorites too much? It seems to me that when somebody else is struggling badly at the plate, they almost always get a "2 game breather" to regroup (see Bill Hall for example). Yet, when a guy is struggling mightily (no homers in 1.5 months seems to be a struggle to me), Yost doesn't bench him at all and continues to let him hit second during this whole time. He just seems to be getting a free pass on this one, while Hall (coming off the DL no less, rides the bench). Making it even worse is that we have Braun and Prince mashing behind him but he's never on base to drive him in. I know we have more adequate replacements for Hall than Hardy, but would Counsell really be THAT bad for two games at shortstop? I'm sure his defense would be OK, and we could handle his hitting for a small period, he does still get on base at a good clip.
  10. Why is it that the same scrubs - Maron Anderson, Damion Easley, just wear out Brewers pitching...but seem to be completely useless against the Cubs??
  11. Hey- Sorry for the delay in getting back to all of you. I'm in the process of moving and having some internet problems. I now see that BF.net changed the messaging system, so I lost all of the emails you guys sent. I still have the bobblehead, so if you are still interested, please send me another message. Sorry for the delay and confusion. Jeff
  12. I've always thought about going skydiving, but I honestly think I'm too big of a wimp to go through with it. I have no problems on roller coasters and such, probably because you're harnessed in and all that (though sky-diving is pretty safe too I'm sure). But I just think I would get up there and be completely terrified and not be able to jump out....
  13. I'm looking for tickets (2, but would purchase up to 4) for the Packers/Vikings game in Minnesota this year. Game is on Sunday, September 30th. Tickets don't need to be great seats. I have to go there for work that weekend and would like to catch the game. Let me know if you can help. Thanks.
  14. I'm also looking to buy a big screen tv for the frist time. I'm looking at 46 inch LCD's though. Anybody have any experience here? Best Buy told me to go with LCD over Plasma based on what I'm using it for (video games and sports). Think this is the case? They also said I need to get a tv with 1080p rather than 720p because most HD networks are moving in this direction. Also, I've noticed a brand called Westinghouse that is significant cheaper. I've read on cnet and other sites that these tv's are definitely comparable...any thoughts on any of this? What should I look for? What do I need? Thanks.
  15. I have an extra blue Gorman Thomas bobblehead that I'm looking to trade. I would prefer to get a white one back (I actually got 2 blues) and something else (either another bobble or a small amount of cash is OK). Any offers?
  16. Let me start out by saying that if Ken Griffey Jr were to become a Brewer, I would literally jump up and down with excitement. Griffey has been my favorite player since I was about 10 years old (I'm 25 now...). That being said...... Ken Griffey Jr has about as much chance of becoming a Brewer as I do. The teams really don't match up well (we can't take on his salary, they won't want any salary back and I don't think we're willing to give up the prospects necessary to get him). Even if this all happened, I just can't see him waiving his no-trade clause to come here.....but we can hope!!
  17. I was at an Orioles/Indians game earlier this year and there was NOBODY tailgating, but I don't think it wasn't allowed. The only rule I can tell you for sure is that they don't let you drink out of cans in the parking lots. Since we had nowhere to put it, they made us sit in the car and drink our beers (yes, in the car). So bring cups or bottles...
  18. Hey- I had a family issue that I had to go take care of this weekend so I wasn't able to make any of the games and need the bobbleheads. I'm looking for a normal, pinstriped Caldwell from 6/22 and a Retro Bill Hall bobble. I don't have a whole lot to trade (a few extra of some of the 82 bobbles) but will pay cash. Let me know if you can help, thanks. Jeff
  19. what is with cordero and 0-2 pitches???!?! seriously...just throw it in the dirt...man...2nd and 3rd, no outs...great
  20. I thought I recall seeing/hearing somewhere that Dunn HATES hitting at Miller Park. I don't have the stats here (and I'm too lazy to look it up) but I'm willing to bet his career numbers at MP are not good at all.
  21. the Cubs announcer actually said "wrigly field north"?? that seems a bit classless...you'd think they'd be more professional than that, but what do you expect, they're part of the cubs organization!
  22. getting pie to start the inning would sure be nice...hate to have to face lee and ramirez as the tying/winning runs.....let's go coco!! also...anyone else think tony gwynn almost takes pitches to a fault? it seems like he goes up there trying to walk, or at least not swing until he gets 2 strikes
  23. man an insurance run or two would be nice here....
  24. it's not bad to get an extra inning out of him...if you actually let him pitch the inning (especially AFTER they let him hit)
