  1. Wait, it was a grounder and Gamel wasn't covering first base? How is that possible?
  2. Yeah, oh well. Can't win them all I guess. Though sweeping them with Greinke on the mound would have been nice. Didn't we get Gonzalez for his defense? Isn't that why we're supposed to tolerate his horrible offense? That's his 3rd error of the year already... Edit: Oh, maybe it was Game's fault then...gamecast.
  3. Someone please tell me that wasn't yet another "i'm going to swing so i don't strike out and oh look i somehow hit an opposite field double" by Clevenger.
  4. Normally I wouldn't give up hope down 6 runs early but this just seems like a game that we're bound to lose. That last inning was just brutal. And our offense has been sorta stagnant the last couple of games. A lot of guys have really yet to get going (this means you Weeks, Morgan and Ramirez) and without the HR we seem to have been having some trouble getting runs. HR might be tough to come by today with the wind and Garza seems to be pitching well so this feels like a loss. Hope I'm somehow proven wrong.
  5. I'm not watching, but from what I'm gathering, some of this inning was just bad luck. Singles through the shift, a blooper for a double and an accidental swing/broken bat hit to right. It's just a bad combination to get all 3 of those consecutively. On the flip side, I do see your point to some extent. He didn't seem to have the strike outs or be able to miss many bats.
  6. 4 straight singles, and 6 out of 7 hits in the inning against what really is a very poor lineup. Has anything been hit well? Greinke just missing his spots or what? Edit: Soriano steal? Seriously? And another ground ball single?!??!
  7. Another one of those huh. The one he hit yesterday I swear was an accident. What is going on here? 3 straight singles? Greinke just lose it or what?
  8. Hope one run isn't enough to beat us. It almost was yesterday, ugh. Only watching on the gamecast, Cubs actually earn those runs or was it a popup double like it appeared on here?
  9. Well it acknowledges that somewhat, but moreso I think they don't want players to think it's a loophole they can exploit. And really, that should have been the policy all along.
  10. Honestly, I think Gamel has performed well to this point. He could easily have a couple bombs if those singles off the wall go a few feet further. Sure, he doesn't have the chance to hit 50 bombs or make me want to stare at the TV like when Prince was up, but when he comes to the plate, I have confidence that he can get on base, I don't dread him in the lineup or think of it as a deadspot as I think many people were fearing. Sure, it's a small sample and he has had a few at bats, but so far I'm happy. He should only get better as he gets more confidence and more playing time. Hope so at least.
  11. He seems fine to me as far as calling the game goes, seems to know what he's talking about. I just think he's a bit too monotone and something about his voice seems to rub me the wrong way. Maybe I'll get used to it, I don't listen on the radio that often anyway, less than 100 innings all year I'd bet.
  12. Just watching on Gamecast, but to have a man on third twice with 1 out and not score is frustrating. Especially since the Cubs were able to hit a sac fly in their only chance. Just wish Dempster would get knocked out of the game so we can beat up on their bullpen. We just can't hit this guy for no apparent reason. As I type this, Aoki has a 10 pitch AB, followed by 2 outs on 5 combined pitches from Morgan/Weeks. Edit: And now Ramirez makes an out on the first pitch. That's 4 outs in 7 pitches. I'm fine with being aggressive but when you know you're facing a guy that we historically haven't hit, and they have a horrible bullpen...you'd think working that count might be helpful. 2 pitch AB for Gamel. 5 outs in 9 pitches.
  13. If the Bucks win this one, it gives them the tie breaker over the Knicks, puts them in a tie with 9 games to go. Losing would be pretty tough to swallow. Don't rule out the Sixers falling too though. They have been playing very badly.
  14. Gamel hitting 7th behind Gonzalez irks me. Lefty vs Lefty or not. If Gamel is going to be in the lineup, he has no business batting behind Gonzalez.
  15. The guy seemed all bent out of shape because Braun didn't have time to do full interviews after the game and just went off on it. He's entitled to his opinion but to just rip the guy at this point seems silly. This article could have been written any time the last 2 months and instead he waits until game 4 of the season when Braun "shafts" the media? Really? Way to be professional.
  16. If he wasn't an ex-Brewers player I'm not sure we'd even be talking about him. Aside from his versatility (and I think decent defense, but thats up for debate), he really has been pretty bad offensively the last few years. Still has some power, but his average has been very bad for the most part.
  17. Throw in the fact that Izturis is pretty much only a SS (and we already have a good defenseive SS, so no need to sub him out)...and the fact that Hall could at least MAYBE do something with the bat....plus he can play every position on the field...something to consider. Even if we wanted him (which I'm sure we don't), I'm not sure he has any interest in returning here as it is.
  18. From a pure hitting perspective, it makes sense. From every other aspect I don't get it. It least just one backup IF at every position other than 1b (and a medicore one at that with Izturiz). It could really hamper us with versatility and the double switches that are often required in NL games. I don't like it...hopefully it's short lived. The ONLY thing I do like about it is it gives us a power threat off the bench...marginal one, but it's something I guess.
  19. Unlike Prince Fielder, Greinke has given no indication that he's definitely leaving at the end of the year and has in fact stated otherwise, that he really does enjoy Milwaukee and loves it here. Doesn't mean he's staying, but unless there is some information out there that I have yet to see, to simply state that he doesn't want to play here seems pretty far fetched. If in fact this agent hiring means terms are close, we'll find out soon enough. If we don't hear anything in the next couple of weeks, then I would start to get concerned as this is really our only window to resign him. If he gets close to FA, he's as good as gone unless he's willing to take significantly less money to stay with the Brewers.
  20. To have the Rock win cleanly here makes very little sense to me. What exactly is Cena supposed to do the rest of the year now after saying about just how he absolutely had to win this match. Their biggest star now just lost to a guy that never wrestles. I don't get it.
  21. How exactly does one go about downloading it? Is that free? I have 3 buddies I normally would order this with and all 3 are traveling for work on Sunday so I likely won't be watching it this year for the first time in a long time. Not really all that disappointed either...says a lot about the crappiness the WWE is throwing out there these days.
  22. Anyone happen to have an extra one from last year? I can't find mine. I have them all on my fridge in the basement except that one. It annoys me almost daily.
  23. I was really confused when I read this. It states A)Lohse will serve as the Card's opening day starter and B) Westbrook will start against the Brewers on April 6. So, I'm thinking, ok, who is it? Lohse or Westbrook? Then I looked at the Cards schedule. I had no I idea they were playing one game in Miami before coming to Milwaukee. Very odd. I know the Marlins have a new park and everything, but I don't ever recall a special "one game series" to open a new ball park. Also, why would they not start Wainwright for their first game? With Carpenter out, isn't he their best pitcher? Not positive, but I seem to remember the Braves playing one game in Washington when they played their first game there a few years back. One game to open the season like on a Sunday night, then they played someone else.
  24. The Bucks gave up virtually nothing they were currently using and added Ellis and Udoh. It should make them better THIS year, which sadly, means they likely get into the playoffs in th 6-8 range and get hammered in round 1.
  25. I missed it, what was the trade with the Rockets?
